Derek Trucks is the best guitarist going today. It’s not about playing a million notes a second or sweep arpeggios which he can do without slide or with, which is even more impressive. It’s the incredible feel he plays with. It’s the way other amazing players look at him when he plays…awestruck!!! It’s the incredible respect musicians have for him. It’s his amazing humility and passion.

Open your mind & your ears will follow. There are a number of people who don't need to back down or take a back seat to anyone. Derek is among these. To name a few would just disrespect those forgotten to be mentioned. Remember that most if the serious talent gravitate toward jazz eventually.

He’s the best to ever live. The best to ever pick up a guitar. Yes, I mean the best ever. You name the guitarist, Derek beats them in any given category. There’s no one as expressive as he is on the instrument. Let alone his unparalleled technical ability, he makes sounds come out of a guitar that literally no one else can. He and the guitar are connected better than any other person has ever been, and I will absolutely die on that hill.

@@mattreynolds612 some of Derek’s top influences are jazz cats. He would absolutely be at home playing with any jazzer out there.
Man, Gabe Dixon is such an incredible artist. Certainly, there's no band in the whole world that compares to Tedeschi Trucks Band. They just have one of the best musician all over the world in each instrument. Their music flow like a river. The only thing you can do is pleasently yield to their talent and enjoy like a child in his first time at Disneyland.

Exactly! Like the southern rock of the early 70's. Smooth as silk, complex as sacred geometry and sweet as honey! Amen!
There is no replacement for Gregg Allman ....but what a great job he did....didn't expect it to be so goooood.

@@MrSmiley1964 If you saw Derek when he was little did you ever catch him at the old Flag Pavilion at the beach? I swear he was playing around Jacksonville when he seemed shorter than the guitar! He was the kid sitting in with every name brand act that played around here. Good times!
That’s a couple skilled drummers. Playing two different beats. Derek must have fingers like steel. The entire band is phenomenal

Great to see Gabe Dixon on keys and vocals!
Obviously the best part of this is Derek and Susan, but I gotta say the singer does an amazing job as well
Allman bros meets Delaney and bonny, meets Leon Russel meets the band meets Chicago . kind of what Derek and Susan's 9 piece band has brought together. outstanding music that is so uncommon these days of digitized everything allways looking forward to newest releases from these masters. thanks guys for what your doing

You forget the background singers. Not on this track, but sure as hell an important part of the band!
Wow. If I paid to see them live and they only played this song like that, it would be worth the ticket price even if that’s all they played. This is the best cover of this song ever
This band have got to be the best ever. Singing, guitar, drummers and brass section, you cannot fault them. A superb act always.
Doesn't get any better than this, lucky enough to have seen them live.
I saw the Allman Brothers back in 71 at the Garden. My memories live on. They might be a bit hazy now but to know I was there is awesome

He makes Eric Clapton look like an amateur..I'm so glad that the bloodline lives on. I read where he was blowing ppl away when he was playing at 12 yr old. The most underrated guitar players around! I do tear up when I hear him playing! Thank you Derek!!

@@robinjohnson2760 Clapton an amateur ? I guess the weed today IS a lot stronger . Clapton wrote, sang and played over 125 songs including 9 out of 14 songs on Layla. played double lead slide with Derricks main influence and the Duane . Ever hear of sunshine of your love ? Ever see Clapton in a Beacon sized hall ? Derrick is very good but his bands original music is so sleepy they have resorted to playing entire albums of the greats that came before .

Nice vocals Gabe. Well done. And DT, well.........
One of my Very favorite AB tunes. Great rendition, love it!!
I like that Derek plays with his fingers, not a pick. It gives a beautiful softness to his tone. Reminds me of Toy Caldwell from MTB.
Wow. All around . . . but, DT . . . every time. Spectacular. Thank you.
This band is a force of nature.
love how the jams are so wonderfully different, unique every time they play this.
Saw Derek playing at the Sarasota Blues Festival when he was a young teenager. It was obvious then that he had a future.
A minor thing I guess but I think it is so cool that Derek still uses an empty coricidan bottle as a slide, just like Duane did.
And hopefully the road and the dream goes on forever
and soooo love the camera work during the jams that show the 2 drummers at same time Derek is playing.

"Dreams" is where it all began (again) for my love of the ABB and Derek and Susan. I had lost track of the ABB in the 1990s and then I took a chance on them in 2003 in Virginia. I happened to buy a seat next to a seat purchased for recording equipment (yes, the ABB used to allow it) and when I heard "Dreams" with Derek's solo, it just sent me into a blissful state. I turned to the person doing the recording and said "I would give anything to just hear that again." He sent me the recording and that started my journey with Derek's band, ABB, and TTB. With Gabe Dixon interpreting Gregg's soulful singing, there is so much potential for ABB classics to stay alive and well. We are fortunate to have them on the road and recording such great music!
LUV THE DUELING DRUMMERS GREAT THE MEMORIES ARE BEING SALVAGED AND CELEBRATED D T BAND NAILED IT BRAVO 🎼🎶🎵🎸💘
Bring back the past. Keeps me young.
Awesome music and playing and singing
I was so glad they brought this to their set this year. It's one of my favorite ABB tracks.

Beautiful!! Thank God, we still have the quality of musicians, TTB, certainly demonstrate it...Thanks guys..
Master of the guitar. Been following him for a long time Susan's voice is great
Can’t wait to see them next week in Chicago!
They groove so well. I wonder what they would sound like with 4 drummers. Those guys are each on their own journey. I dig it.
I saw them open with this song in Clearwater, FL. Right off the bat they blew me away. Good stuff! Go see em!
I haven't seen anyone do Dwayne like that! Awesome.
I have long thought there were stupidly many trucks in the US. I will make an exception in Derek Trucks case. Brilliant stuff.
Susan ain't no scrub either, the whole band is off the chain!!
the music lives on
I miss seeing the AB. They have been such a staple in my life. Personally, I think Derek is the best player out there!! He is on another level, and he's humble. If I could sing I'd want my voice to sound like Susan's;) seriously so good! The whole band, everyone is doing their thing and it all fits together so magically. Thank you for the upload, as always it sounds amazing!!

The bass player got about 5 seconds of air time🤔
Although I'm sure she's used to it, I wonder if sometimes Susan is tempted to stop playing rhythm and stand there mouth agape at these solos, it would be kinda like being on the ice with Bobby Orr and instead of vainly trying to impede his progress, you'd just stand there thinking "did you just see that!"
