Bachelor or minimum 2-3 year degree in Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Biochemistry or Mathematics

Alive now for more than six decades, my olfactory sense (along with others ha!) is supposed to be on the wane. But it's not! Im running after people like a dog, sniffing madly, trying to capture what is the fragrance. Standing behind someone in line bobbing my head madly (again like a dog) these are not socially appropriate movements, and it becomes evermore difficult to curtail these gestures. The funny thing is though, that with age I care less about proprieity so I guess it's all evening out in some way. I realize that people generally -- is iit "non-artists"? don't express much of an interest in the deep subtleties, the rich nuances to be ascertained and (hopefully) enjoyed in not just that which is smelt, but also in what we hear and what we taste. I like it i don't like it. It's sweet, it's salty it's ew gross! There's so much more than this, and when, now, reading perfumers' notes I see how daunting their vast reach is compared to mine. These vast knowledges, utilized and applied in so many contexts -- in industry, for concerns of safety, or with interest to manipulate, and for the perfumer, the pleasure of succeeding through diligence study, wonder dreaming and a little magic gets to employ so many human faculties to achieve something that is palpable -- a product, yet also something for most simply a mystery. To use one's highly developed sense attunement in concert with the glorious vehicle of ones passions, what more could be wished for? I'll now and again wonder if I'd have had the chops to do this work but I do know this: As long as I've got this nose, I'm going to keep sniffin.
