Dreamer Deceiver + Deceiver - Judas Priest (HQ)

Музыка

Even though those two songs were together on Sad Wings Of Destiny album CD, it was hard to find them together with high quality, so I combined them, Enjoy!

I've been listening to this album for 40 years, I remember 35 years ago being highly depressed, had lost my father then brother to self inflicted deaths. I went traveling on my motorcycle which had engine failure. I stopped paused, and listened to this album as I watched the Ocean and bird life. 35 years later life is awesome as is Judas Priest. Still amazing and Rob is still singing notes only dogs can hear. XX

From about '67-'90 the music was worth listening to the radio for. There's a good bit of good music since '90, but the stuff I like isn't on the radio. By the way, I'm 63 too. Lately, I'm listening to a lot of stuff I used to shun, i.e. B-52s, Oingo Boingo, Pretenders, etc.

I'm starting to think Sad Wings of Destiny is one of the most underrated metal albums of all time. I can't believe how overlooked it is today. None of the tracks on the album have over 1m listens on Spotify! Compared to all the other sludge that gets millions of plays on the platform, that should be considered a small crime. The album is expertly composed with insanely gifted musicians and a ridiculously talented vocalist spearheading each track.

I bought this album sometime in the late 70s it always mystified me how this album is not considered one of rock and roll's best Rock albums of all time. It's not really a well-known album with the masses. This song in particular Dreamer Deceiver Deceiver is Priest at their best. The guitar solo towards the end of Dreamer it's not a note out of place. It's a perfect solo. And Robert Halfords. I mean what can you say about his amazing performance he changes his voice and singing style multiple times during this one song. And when he goes off , DAMNN !! THERE'S NO ONE ELSE IN THE INDUSTRY LIKE HIM. I've outgrown some of the music I listened to in the 70s but not this this will always be amongst my favorites till the day I leave my body and I am floating in the cosmos. ❤

Lyrics: Dreamer Deceiver + Deceiver Act I: "Dreamer Deceiver" Standing by my window, breathing summer breeze Saw a figure floating, 'neath the willow tree Asked us if we were happy, we said we didn't know Took us by the hands and up we go We followed the dreamer through the purple hazy clouds He could control our sense of time We thought we were lost but no matter how we tried Everyone was in peace of mind We felt the sensations drift inside our frames Finding complete contentment there And all the tensions that hurt us in the past Just seemed to vanish in thin air He said in the cosmos is a single sonic sound That is vibrating constantly And if we could grip and hold on to the note We would see our minds were free...oh they're free We are lost above Floating way up high If you think you can find a way You can surely try Act II: "Deceiver" Solar winds are blowing Neutron star controlling All is lost, doomed and tossed, at what cost forever Meteors fly around me Comets die, and then they And then they, you wanna see how they try to surround me I can say, here today, we shall stay forever If you want to find us in a hurry Oh let me tell you don't you worry I can say, here today, we shall stay forever

I urge any singer to nail this song. I’ve tried and failed many times. It’s got everything I love in singing. Great depth, baritone and tenor, plus that high shit I nearly get too. Go on Rob x

To be honest the only way I can nail this jam to the best of my ability is to is to tag team this song on a social 🍹🍻🥃 night, I knock out about 75% and her the other 25% to pick up my slack.... LOL F*cked up my ability to hit a good tenner going to shows with my parents at 14 and 7/10 when the event was over I'd be walking out with No Voice & didn't know that proper healing was KEY to a healthy vocal bounce back SOOOOO, yeah. 😂 BUMMER IS RIGHT 😢😅😂😂 Silly ME forgot to mention "who" was picking up my slack.... LOL my older sister Rubes 😊

In a way, Roger Bain’s sort of misguided orthodoxy as to what a rock band was supposed to sound like in 1974, which caused him to keep Victim Of Changes, and I believe also The Ripper off of the debut album, did Priest a favor. While it denied them a more groundbreaking killer first album, it made for a really classic second album considering that they’re songwriting and playing had involved quite a bit in the intervening time. So they were able to add these two miler tracks to the even more exciting they were creating, making Sad Wings Of Destiny the undeniable knock out phenomenal classic that it is. And it’s not like Rock A Rolla sucks anyway. Even though they held back two killer tracks, it’s still a solid debut. Heavy and dark, and a bit sleazy, Rock A Rolla is a unique mix of straightforward rock with some progressive, psychedelic, and blues elements. Their debut album therefore stands as a unique testament to the influences upon which they built the mighty monolith that would become Judas fucking Priest’. So let’s cut Roger a break. Whether by ignorance or keen intuition, his decision to keep The Ripper and Victim Of Changes off that first album worked out pretty well.
