They are coming through my backyard this time (Nashville) and at a venue that is well respected in the music industry in America and good capacity. I'm really hoping for a sell out! Side note: Babymetal is playing the arena in Nashville the week before and Eric Nam is coming though a couple of weeks later. Pumped that Asian artists are starting to come through the area!

k, we all know in DC, Gahyeon is on top of the hierarchy and Jiu the real Maknae.

I understand it's important but it's so different from my first language. We have some formal pronouns but still, in most cases, we use informal language.Even in the workplace and older people. It's not that we don't use it, but it's very rare. It is mostly used for authorities or people far above you.To be honest, most people don't even like it and correct it when people use it with them.

This is the kind of video where you need to know how korean works so not as many people might not be able to enjoy it but I did. 😁 To those that don't know anything about Korean: formal speech is used while talking to someone who's older than you and also to those that higher position (work is a good example) - if you can hear them saying -yo (example isseo-yo) at the end fo their sentences, that is formal speech otherwise most of it is informal. It is also informal to call someone with -ya at the end (example Sua-ya) or just calling them with their first name (Kim Minji)

while i am from a country that has this kind of culture of respecting the elders, nowadays it is very less shown in the city, but if you get to the suburban or urban areas, it is extremely shown, but in my family, there is a common rule, after you are 8yo, you can't eat before the eldest present eat first - breakfast, lunch or dinner, it shows the hierarchy... and it stays strong... i once had a man who married my aunty and he came from Germany and stayed in my father's house for vacation, in the morning on the first vacation day, all of the family members waited for him for one hour before my aunty remembered the rules since it's been years since she came back and inform him to have breakfast so that everyone else can have breakfast including my father since he was 5 years older than him, he is confused at first but just accept it thinking it is a part of the culture, he was the one who introduce me to the book Demian too

Was born where the language uses honorifics, ltr moved to the US and after yrs it's difficult to go back to honorifics 😅 but we don't have this between ppl w similar ages. 5yrs is nothing and when we're introduced to new people we give 2 kisses, or shake hands and drop honorifics from there.

There's one case here that kinda bugs me though; when Gahyeon writes her anonymous (and very sweet) "Thank You" message to Dami. Yes, technically she should've written it in formal. But if she had then it wouldn't have been anonymous, since she's the youngest. For something like that they should agree in advance that everyone either writes in formal or informal (unless there's a neutral form in Korean for cases like that?).

Being in the same year they may get away with informal to eachother, but Jiu and Yoohyeon are still technically unnies to their younger yearmates.
