I don't know if you care about listening to past albums/EP's in any particular order, but I highly recommend listening to their first full album Dystopia: The Tree of Language. Scream is the lead single from that one, but the whole album has a pretty big range of genres and sounds. Several of the songs also have their own videos which are also great. There's probably enough songs you would need to split it into 2 or 3 parts, but the whole thing is a 10/10! @@NewChapterReactions

The choreography for "Shatter" is incredible and heartbreaking. It is a Medusa reference throughout (though, surely a metaphor). It ends abruptly because Siyeon turns to stone and doesn't even get to finishing singing the word 'stone'.

This is one of the best mini albums they have ever made. You HAVE to see the Shatter performance! Also the live vocals for Rising are perfect.

How I understand Shatter is that someone is tempted to get closer to Medusa (at great risks), ignoring the consequences. And when they finally get to her, their body turns into stone but their mind is still very much alive. Now they are trapped inside their own body, unable to move and feeling their mind slowly becoming stone aswell. They wish to be free like a bird, they want to break free from the stone. But the longer they are in that state, the more their mind goes to darker means to break free. 'Bang' (Hurt me), 'Shatter' (Destroy me), they are desperate. And then 'I think I turn into the st-' (They finally become fully stone) Medusa could also be figuratively seen as temptation itself. Something someone shouldn't want but still go for. Self-destruction per say. And then losing one self.

Watching y’all’s Dreamcatcher/Insomnia journey has been so much fun! Will pray for your general well being if you watch the Showcase performances for these songs because…🫠🥵

Siyeon really out here traveling here there and everywhere in all their choreos, lol! I can't wait for you guys to check them out more, their dances are sooooooo satisfying! Their choreographer is a genius. Also IDK if you saw it or not, but the end pose is a crown shape :D Much like their Odd Eye choreo starts in the shape of an eyeball. I think Yoohyeon's line about "the beauty is dangerous, life is fabulous, the first plan is activated, you're already invited" has something to do with the ARG event before their comeback and OOTD, but I couldn't tell you what - at the end of OOTD there is the "join us, enter now" button or whatever, so...I saw another reactor say that he thought that the Shasha person was maybe making an AI version of DC? And that's why she had the DreamCatcher folder and was googling pictures of them, and why the video was literally rendering around them? I haven't seen anyone else have that take, and I really thought it was interesting. Maybe that also is why Dongie says something about we achieve in real life, too? They also have the words rise and rising in OOTD multiple times, and then it's followed exactly by the actual song Rising. Not a coincidence. Another reactor I watch said she thought she heard the sound of a chisel on stone when they first say "turn into the stone", and that would be soooo dope! Medusa is definitely a "villain" of sorts, and in some of their promo photos, DC is posing with a bunch of Roman-style busts/statues, so your hearing of like a snake rattle (on brand with Medusa) seems correct! I love the layers that everyone is picking out and the broader pictures being painted by everyone's input. I think Shatter ends the way it does bc Siyeon turns to stone :D I don't recall if you guys have seen Deja Vu or not yet, but the operatic choir in Shatter is giving that grand operatic choir in Deja Vu. We Are Young is gonna be SO MUCH FUN at their concerts! We Are Young and Silent Night are gonna be the real hardcore party songs FR FR! You can just see them up on the stage bouncing around and singing and dancing while everyone in the audience sings the "Wooooh" part (just like Reason)! I can't wait for them to come back to the US on tour! Dongie ATE this album, I am so proud of her, especially since she had to miss the Scream and Boca albums bc she was in China! Edit: Silent Night and In The Frozen are gonna be your EDM tracks as you check them out, if EDM is your vibe!

We are young is the encore type song for concert, it will feel so good if we can singing it together for that last part ❤

Welcome to Insomnia! As you may have noticed Dreamcatcher has so much talent their lead vocalists could easily be main vocalists for any group and then there is Siyeon who is a top tier vocalist in the entire industry. My favorite part of this album is hearing Handong and Gahyeon sing in different parts of sings that they normally wouldn't. They keep experimenting with line distribution and I'm here for it all!

Handong is magnificent on this album, I mean they all are but our princess shined so much. I hope you see the bsides' performances, it's just incredible

Shatter is one of my favorites B-sides. You're in for a ride because DC is know for their banger B-sides.

Dreamcatcher dance practice videos are ones you need to watch 7 times. Once for each member.

I never thought an EDM song would make me SO emotional but We Are Young makes me tear up. They love performing live to this kind of music (they’ll no doubt be jumping with joy performing it in concert and hyping everyone up). Shatter is indeed a Medusa reference (and honestly who gave them permission to go so hard), and Rising is the perfect b side to show off how well every single member can kill it with rock vocals. To me these three songs are almost like the big sister to some of their other b sides (Rising / Break the Wall, We Are Young / Can’t Get You Out of My Mind, Shatter / maybe.. Poison Love) Dreamcatcher’s b sides are incredible, their discography is so diverse… and two words… Jazz Bar (it’s beautiful!).

Shatter immediately became my favorite Dreamcatcher song, it is absolutely incredible

I see yall like the sound of WE ARE YOUNG so I bet yall would like another song of theirs but more on the EDM side it's called CAN'T GET YOU OUT OF MY MIND and it's from the BOCA album (Dystopia: Lose Myself). I highly recommend that song because it's amazing especially when you put it in the car while you drive!

That timing was absolutely perfect haha!!

In Shatter, I feel they were being lured in by the mystical enchantment but they figured it was a trap and in desperation they cried out but can't stop the trance or impending doom, the seductive vocals calling out and it was too strong to fight. The dangers is near but they cannot look away, walked right into a trap hypnotized by Medusa's alluring gaze and turned into a stone before they can finished their sentence. What an abrupt demise especially with grand choir keep chanting bang,bang bang like a crescendo...mic drop moment. Shatter has shattered me. Love, love, your analysation. In Rising as well, you touched on a topic I havent even considered. Really good reaction!

The showcase performance for Shatter is one of the best things I saw this year and it's instantly in my top 3 B-Sides. Also I just want to say, it is so good to see Handong this comeback. How her singing evolved, how much Charisma she has now. It built gradually since Odd Eye, but I feel she now reached this point where she just shines so much.

Shatter is Medusa-coded

The Showcase performance of Shatter is a MUST watch... and survive!!! Seriously, there are no words!

Known as "stairs idol", rising up higher is the only choice that dreamcatcher has. Being 7+ years and still more years to come (FYI, all the girls just renewed their contract last year) really will fly them higher. Let's goo....

Notice the call back to Odd eye in the OOTD choreo when they make the eye shape. Dreamcatcher are never what they seem, and they're actually telling everyone to use their odd eye to see past the surface bling in their MV. Chasing the crown has left a trail of destroyed lives and misery in it's wake and they know that better than most.

For me, Shatter is a masterpiece. Definitely top 10 in their discography, if not top 5

I added all the songs to my playlist! We Are Young is like so good. reminds me of like 2010's rave music/edm or something. like, you know... illenium or ... kaskade... zedd. I almost could not believe they did this genre. SO GOOD. It reminds me of another song, Red Sun. It doesnt really sound the same, but for some odd reason, its similar to me. Rising definitely hits specially it's message.. but Shatter really punches you with the their experimental genre fusion... And as usual We are. Young which is a club dance music just like Silent night and in the frozen really makes you move. Dreamcatcher and their producers and composers definitely made an epic album as always And I hope the next concept is either vigilante or heroes..hehehe... 3rd grade syndrome triggered Btw.. i love the facial expressions Bri shows...kinda satisfying.. specially during shatter... definitely shattered..hehehe.. and i love you cats talent... definitely a Ninja

Yoohyeon is of course the tallest in Dreamcatcher but she isn't very tall 168 cm (5’6”) according to there profile.

Dreamcathcer's intro always insane. Well, this is what Dreamcatcher b-sides going on. You will never know what will happening on the b-sides. Actually, i will say their b-sides sometimes were going crazy than the title track.

I think this is some of the best b side material DCC has churned out, honestly. Aside from 'We are Young,' I enjoyed the b sides more than the Title track itself. 'Rising' in particular sounds the closest to their core sound and it is the one where they were challenged to show what they were capable of vocally. Each member showed that they earned their place in this group, for sure. 'Shatter' is such a cacophony of SOUND; it's so experimental and I love it. You mentioned Medusa; she is the inspiration for this. When you watch the performance for 'Shatter' you will see snakes protruding from Jiu's head as she opens the song, the girls hands and arms acting as snakes. What I get from the lyrics is that the girls are those being turned to stone, asking for a kiss before they can no longer do so. They ask to be shattered. I'm not sure if they mean shattered to dust so that they don't have to spend eternity as stone, or shattered in the sense that they are encased in stone and wish to be broken out. The myth goes that those who are turned to stone by Medusa's stare can never break free, only crumple to dust. The song ended abruptly because Siyeon was cut off before she could finish her sentence, finally being turned to stone. I also found out through a translation of the showcase that the girls didn't really intend the word 'Shatter' to come across so sensual in the song, but it just ended up that way, lol. Looking forward to your reactions.

just drop my thought on the first phase pre-loving Dreamcatcher. before I know their powerful voice, I thought this group's rely on Siyeon's voice so much, and Yoohyeon. but I was wrong. know them more, I love they getting line that embrace their power, JiU in the bridging, Siyeon Yoohyeon in the reff, Handong and Gahyeon unique part, Dami rap, and SuA that more versatile. after knowing them, I realize that this is group, this is legendary Dreamcatcher. in the early Handong has few lines, but iconic. I am a bit sad after realizing they are group, but ok. and then Handong's time come. first to listen OOTD make me unsure, "is this that Dreamcatcher?" I do not found iconic JiU sweet voice in the bridge, she take the part that I think usually Handong's, "I am venus nepthys call me a goddess.' the entire song also does not gave me feel this is Dreamcatcher. but they give Rising and Shatter. I am not dislike OOTD, but yes I need time to used into it. this is first part, I am waiting the second part with high bar expectations. I hope they will never disappoint, and they never did it so far.

DC once again showing off how versatile they really are. Once u have fully dived deep into them u will realize there is nothing they can't do. Their vocals are insane. Handong and Gahyeon have improved so much, and them getting more and more recognition is amazing. Personally for me (as a JiYoo bias), this is Dongie's era, her growth has been impeccable. OOTD is HER SONG. PS: jsut wait till u see the showcase, especially for Shatter......

Glad you giving my girls sm love 💕 been following them since day 1 and its been a beautiful process watching them go from selling not even 200 copies first week of their first EP to millions of streams and other INSOMNIA praising them 😭 yall rock. I recommend listening to their very first album next, which is dystopia the tree of language. Its highly praised, diverse, and all the songs are a trip. Maybe even skip Siyeons song on the album and have a whole video for Siyeon songs she sings by herself including the song speechless from the new Aladdin!!

I honestly was a bit disappointed with the tt OOTD like it wasn't that bad but it didn't give me Dreamcatcher vibe at all as Bonvoyage, Vision, Maison, Boca, Odd eye, Scream... etc but I'm happy that the bsides are very good and they really scream Dreamcatcher... Rising is sooo good everything about this song is so good, each member shined well and the vocals were amazing!! Well Shatter is good but the chorus wasn't for me... Like it was really not bad but I expected something more after those beautiful and well harmonized verses... We are young is soo good the chorus is so fun! I really like this album overall... Rising might be my favourite song there and I really loved your reaction it was really fun to watch and hear the album again with you ❤

They lyrics don't match up quite perfectly (but then again, very often dc's lyrics are working on multiple layers of meaning), but I see this EP as telling a story. With OOTD, the dangers of superficially focusing on image are expressed as alluring (but also a little fake); Rising is the call to action to move beyond the superficial; Shatter is what happens if you don't heed the call and give into the alluring and end up having to work through the consequences, and We Are Young reminds us that even if we do end up shattered, there's still time to bloom again.
