Thank you for Dreamcatcher’s reaction. Dreamcatcher has a long and wild history. Most of Dreamcatcher's members performed music at music shows around the same time as T-ara and Miss A. Nevertheless, the reason you don't know about Dreamcatcher is because Dreamcatcher is not very popular in Korea. However, Dreamcatcher has carved out their own career in K-pop and are now internationally popular. I recommend their third fan song, Reason. This short MV shows Dreamcatcher's struggles and history in K-pop.

Dreamcatcher is pretty much the OG dark concept girl group. Plenty of 4th gen girl groups followed this concept after their success but the rock sound is still unique to them because they're the only ones that consistent with it

16:54 In Scream MV there's only 6 of them because one of the member named Handong went back to China in late 2019 to join a reality show & got stuck in China for almost a year due to CV19 pandemic crisis around the world back in 2020. And even worst, her hometown happened to be Wuhan, where it all started. Handong absent in Scream MV & Boca MV. Both of the song is part of Dystopia Trilogy (Scream, Boca & Odd Eye). Handong return to South Korea at the end of 2020 & appear in their Odd Eye MV comeback 2021.

There are no wrong choices with Dreamcatcher.

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are an incredible group who have an incredibly diverse discography. All of the title tracks incorporate rock and metal instrumentals combined with other genres. Their B-sides though span dozens of genres & sub-genres including EDM, Rock, R&B, Trap, Trance, Jazz, Funk, ballads, and so much more. Their discography is immaculate with many of their B-sides being as good or better than their title tracks. Members in order of age - positions - description for each video. Jiu - Leader, lead dancer, lead singer, visual - She had the pre-chorus section in Bonvoyage, Pink hair in Vision, and Purple hair in Scream. Sua - Main dancer, lead rapper, vocalist - She sang the "I Love You" section of the 2nd pre-chorus in Bonvoyage, had a crown in Vision, and a sword in Scream. Siyeon - Main Vocal - Blue hair in Bonvoyage, Glasses/Blond in Vision, Black hair and sang bridge in Scream. Handong - Vocalist - Pink hair in Bonvoyage, short black hair with some blond undertones in Vision, was not present in Scream as she was in China for an idol elimination show. Yoohyeon - Lead Vocalist - First singer in Bonvoyage, the green outfit you liked in Vision, Blond and second singer in Scream. Dami - Main rapper, lead dancer, vocalist - You didn't have any trouble picking her out, lol. Gahyeon - Lead rapper, vocalist, maknae - pink/orange hair in Bonvoyage, last one to sing, black short hair in Vision, second rapper in Scream. Dreamcatcher are a very lore/concept heavy group with most of their MVs being attached to a few different storylines. Bonvoyage is the final part of the Apocalypse trilogy and is essentially a love letter to the Earth as humanity has to leave to let the Earth heal from all the damage that we've done to it. Vision is the second part of the Apocalypse trilogy and is a call to stand and fight for what you believe in. In the MV, Dreamcatcher are showing a future that will come to pass if we don't manage to stop destroying our home, Earth. Maison (home in French) is the first part of this trilogy and is a direct call to action against climate change. In it they ask that we stop burying our heads in the sand and pay attention to whats happening. They also call out the people who know there's an issue but ignore it for personal gain. Scream is the first part of the Dystopia Trilogy which is a social commentary on social media, hate speech, and online bullying. The follow up songs for this trilogy are Boca (mouth in Spanish) Odd Eye They have another storyline, The Nightmare Series, that begins with their debut song. This series talks about facing societal expectations, feelings of being lost, loneliness, depression, and more. The MVs in this series are much more horror inspired and the music in this first series is much more j-rock inspired. The songs in this series are Chase Me - debut song Good Night Fly High - Prequel to Chase Me You & I What Piri Breaking Out - This is an alternate ending and their first Japanese release. They also have several stand-alone songs that are not tied to overarching storylines. Deja Vu - collaboration with the mobile game Kings Raid. BEcause - A summer song about love, but since it's Dreamcatcher, it's got a horror twist. The MV takes a lot of insprration from Jordan Peele's "Us" Endless Night - Japanese Release and one of their heavier songs Eclipse - Anime opening for Kings Raid: Successor of the Will second season. R.o.S.E. Blue - collaboration with the mobile game Girl, Cafe, Gun. Full Moon - 1st anniversary fan song Over the Sky - 2nd anniversary fan song Reason - 6th anniversary fan song They've just announced their comeback for November 22nd with a new mini album, VillainS. No word on if this will be a new storyline or not yet. Teasers for this will begin dropping on Monday the 6th. As for recommendations, you can finish out the two trilogies you've started, or you can go to the beginning. It's all really good so anywhere you want to go works. Enjoy!

They seem to be using kpop as a platform to advocate for a lot of issues that I believe in as well! Also, I just love a group of strong women, I tend to lean away from the overly girly innocent type concepts, which is why I haven't gotten too much into girl groups! I'm excited to discover more of their music, and you've given me a great start!

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 "Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace, which is a call-back to Vision. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. "Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things). It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way. So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace. By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well. Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release! Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point. You counted right, there are seven members. But Chinese member Handong got stuck in China due to the pandemic, so she missed Scream and Boca. You probably are thinking of Siyeon, the main vocal. Check out her cover of "Speechless" to see what she can do. And since you asked for requests, here are some to finish out the trilogies: "Maison" is missing from the Apocalypse trilogy, and for the Dystopia trilogy you should also check out "Boca" and "Odd Eye". And while I'm at hit, you should definitely react to "Deja Vu" as well!

Do they have any content that showcase their personalities? I would love to see how they are off stage 😂 also I didn't know they have a Chinese member! It's slightly old but still the best one out there currently. However it does go through nearly all their songs and if you want to avoid spoilers that might be a problem. If that's the case I suggest this channel: www.youtube.com/@insomnicsy She's hands down the best channel for DC content. Even the group members know about her and sometimes mention or react to her videos! As for what to watch, their This Is: Series introduces all the members with a good look at who they are as people without spoiling much of anything. The videos keep getting updated with new content too so there is a 2020, 2021, 2022 and just recently a 2023 version.

So glad you discovered Dreamcatcher! If you do go back to their debut song called “Chase Me,” I think their dance practice for it is worth checking out as well. You didn’t count wrong, at that time(dystopia trilogy) handong was in China in to a music show and due to COVID couldn’t came back to Corea. For that reason on this Mv and BOCA a dancer uses a mask representing handong. She returned for the las part of the trilogy in Odd Eye

Dreamcatcher are truly something special because they debuted with an anti-mainstream concept and sound and continued to run with it no matter how unpopular it was. Welcome to the Dreamworld! InSomnia will be happy to tailor any guidance you might desire to your exploration of Dreamcatcher should you decide to react to more of their material. The personas for their titles tracks tend to be dark and powerful (The Dark Queens of Kpop), but their public personas on k-variety and k-reality tend to be utter chaos and humor. If you wish to check out a guide, I'd probably go with Mera's Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports since it will place the group in the context of the older kpop scene they started in. It is woefully out of date at this point, and there are more recent guides, but instead I would recommend any of the "This is ..." series by Insomnicsy which has one short video per member done annually for the last four years and it does not matter which year you pick - they're all great and will let you get to know the individual members. Doing so will also introduce you to Insomnicsy who is a great fan editor and an excellent resource for collating content from vlives, Dreamcatcher promotional material, variety shows, etc. Enjoy!

Thier b-sides on the other hand, is another side of DC... So here's looking forward for more for your DC journey..

Google: The Face of Rock in Kpop and see what comes up. Dami is the main rapper. For Scream (and few other songs) the 7th member Handong was in China and got stuck there because of Covid in 2020. I am also an original 2nd Gen Kpop fan.

Did you say it has an apocalypic vibe? Would you be suprise if I told you that the name of this particular Dreamcatcher Trilogy is the Apocalypse Trilogy, yeah you heard me right this is a trilogy, Bon Voyage is even the part 3 of their latest Apocalypse Trilogy, MAISON is part 1, VISION is its part 2, I can tell you also that this is the softest when it comes to their rock sound, you'll know what I mean when you try MAISON and VISION, they are a lot harder hitting

Welcome to the fandom!! I'm sure you will love everything, including the B tracks. There is no bad song with Godcatcher 😂 Dami for sure one of the best rappers in kpop, love her voice and how she isn't just a rapper too. Siyeon is the one that has a voice that was born for rock, no way to not know it's her. Overall all girls lack nothing in voice and dancing. You can even see that during apocalypse era each girl got a solo song to show their interests/styles too, you should totally check their special MVs 🥰

I'm pretty sure that our precious InSomnias would give you a lot of informations regarding the Ladies, the lore, the arks, and so on... And I fully trusting them about that... So yeah, Dreamcatcher is not a typical girls group, and don't try to make them as a sample for knowing how a Kpop girls group would like... They just different, they are on another league by themselves... All of their title tracks are always infused with rock/metal in mixing with another genres... While their B-sides are more varies in the genres... We may find pop, rock, metal, edm, jazz, trap, reggae, city pop, and so on... So if someone may not found liking the title track(s), they may found their interest in their B-sides... Cause for me, their discography so far are never miss... Thank you for reacting to Dreamcatcher! Some tips for better reaction videos: - full screen the videos please 🙏 - I think the volume of the mv was low because it gets low everytime your mic picks up sound. Personally I don't like it when the volume of the music is inconsistent. - Because there always seem to be ppl who are very vocal about not liking reactors to pause, I just want to let you know that there are also ppl like me who prefer pausing. - You said you didn't get to pay attention to the lyrics. No problem. Nobody can take in the music, visuals, storyline AND lyrics in 1 go. You could consider reacting to 2 versions of a song (1 lyric video and the mv for example, or the dance practice, etc) - the quality of your camera is a bit low. Yes, DC is a bit unique. Their title tracks always incorporate some form of rock. They have 7 members. In Scream 1 member was absent. Your pronunciation of Dami is fine 👌

​​@@alexatakesalookyup, it's from the Apocalypse: from us album. It's a banger of a song and they came out with choreography dance video which is beyond brilliant. The choreography was done by one the members Kim Bora aka Sua. Give it a watch, trust me on this, you will not regret it.

Yup they have that much vocals and power at the same time and no matter how prepared you *think* you are they will always get you, somehow. Since you like Dami this quickly, Boca (the sequel to Scream, followed by part 3 Odd Eye) should definitely be your next stop. I should warn you, every time you asked who is that!? the answer was Siyeon (pronounced she-yawn) and while Boca is one of Dami's iconic songs, Odd Eye is one of Siyeon's, so you could be in a lot of danger.

@@alexatakesalook Prep for those without spoilers: Handong was still stuck outside Korea when they recorded the m/v for Boca so you'll only see 6 of them there, but she was back for Odd Eye. Whenever you want to ask who was that!? during those videos, the answer will probably still be Siyeon doing Siyeon things.

Every member brings something amazing to the group and with time you will understand what Insomnia means when we say It's all of them, but it's true Dami and Siyeon are the most noticeable right away. There are too many videos to count for the last 6 years of Dami or Siyeon just making the world panic. It's not just you. 🙂
