Song is a collab with the King's Raid video game and the themes of the video, including sacrifice and betrayal, mirror in some ways the story arc of the game itself. Lyrically the song, for me, speaks to revisiting a painful memory and re-experiencing the same painful emotions as though they were still fresh. Bookish Theories does an amazing job of really breaking down all the themes, color use, and symbolism used to make a comprehensive assessment.

A Dreamcatcher does catch nightmares! Their first 6 videos are about being trapped in a nightmare! This is actually their first move away from that and into a fantasy setting. Thank you for reacting to Dreamcatcher they need all the love. Hopefully, next time y'all do throwback eps you'll consider doing some earlier DC, it's all worth a listen. ^_^

Like deja vu is the "perception of experiencing something that one has never actually experienced" The video is about Reality, Perception and Memory, and how they can be different between 2 individuals specifically in the scenario of say 2 princesses vying for the same throne. A Villain may not perceive themselves as a villain, or the usurper, they have the right to the throne they are fighting for, while those who hold that throne have their right to fight for the throne they are holding. WIthin their own perceptions. Memory and Perception are not necessarily reality though. We can deceive ourselves. We often deceive ourselves because our perceptions and our memories are more blissful than reality. Along with who is wearing black. Yoohyeon believes she is the one who was betrayed, but we see that It was Yoohyeon was the betrayer, and she struck down JiU after JiU showed Mercy. Yoohyeon has a throne.. of a destroyed kingdom and she has let herself be trapped in her memories. As far as subtitles go, they have english subtitles on the video that's on their channel Dreamcatcher Official (I believe that is what it's called). The lyrics are quite sad and very interesting I might add.

For us inSomnias, we always theorize what is happening in every Dreamcatcher video so we love the song and watch it over and over. \o/ dreamcatcher \o/ automatic thumbs up even if you didn't like it :D I know dreamcatcher isn't the kind of stuff you normally listen to - not everyday you hear a dark metal ballad lol, but it's nice you can appreciate the artistry they put into everything they release. even their choreos are among the most technically difficult in kpop. don't worry about the lyrics, they don't help as with most of their mvs. if you follow the general plot and symbolism, you will get the overall story for each mv they do. bangbang (shoutout! lol) pretty much got the general idea with his explanation, friendship then betrayal. from there you can look at each scene and its symbolism to put the entire story together. for hardcore fans, a lot of their mvs are linked either directly or indirectly so there can be a lot of fun theories for fans to put together.

ivyshy98 personally i think the lyrics for Deja Vu fit perfectly into the MV i agree that dc’s titles and mvs usually dont fit that much, but this time around i felt it fit 100% and it told the story we see

@@Starlighteyes what I meant about the lyrics not helping is they are too general and can fit in a number of different plot lines. if you watch the mv with lyrics, I doubt anyone will go ah ha I get it... but you can develop a number of plot lines by piecing the individual scenes together and the symbolism they use.

ivyshy98 for me they actually helped a lot, i mean i had a general idea of course, but it is all down to interpretation in the end and the lyrics helped pointing a more clear path for my interpretation, so it was quite helpful to read it (at least for me)

Lot of talk about the plot, but like every story they all revert back to classic literature like Macbeth, betrayal for the throne. Yoohyun kills her friend Jiu (who holds the sword in both instances) and gets rid of the others (exiled, imprisoned, and killed). While she finds herself alone on the throne, she's having illusions/flashback like Macbeth, which has been interpreted as "deja-vu" is my guess, i.e., it's an epic girl fight! Jiu the original queen and Yoohyun the bitch who betrayed my Jiu... but i forgive her..

The important part of her flashbacks is her memory and perception of them, She percieves herself as the hero or the one in the right. (She originally sits on the thrown wearing white, JiU is standing over her wearing black.) Deja Vu is the feeling of experiencing something that never actually happened. Yoohyeon is the betrayer, JiU showed mercy, Yoohyeon picked up JiU's sword and stabbed her in the back. (literally and figuratively)

No, the MV is related to The King's Raid game story so don't just throw your wrong opinion in every deja vu reaction and mislead people ( i don't know if you are the same person who spam this comment in every video or not but i saw the same comment so that's why I think it is you)

@@NGH34 Yes, it is but while the lyrics heavily relate to King's Raid the MV doesn't. King Raid has it's own MV of Deja Vu.
