"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!

Thanks for the reaction! I see that other somnias already explained the meaning of the song and the trilogy, so I'm just gonna say that DC came back with another amazing song, as usual. I love the contrast between the soft and beautiful parts and the hard instrumental sections, it kinda reminds me a bit of 'Deja Vu' but still quite different. And the MV is stunningly beautiful. They also released another MV this year ('Reason') to celebrate their 6th anniversary in case you missed it and want to check it out ;)

BONVOYAGE is the last in the installment in the Apocalypse trilogy (Maison, Vision, BONVOYAGE). The Apocalypse trilogy is all about trying to save Earth from its impending destruction. Where the first two songs are directed at the humans of Earth, BONVOYAGE is a song to the Earth itself. In Vision they were able to dismantle the human systems that were destroying the Earth, but its not enough to save the nature so they realize the last step is for humans to leave the Earth and let it heal itself. So when they say, "You may not, but I love you", they are talking about the Earth itself. Essentially, the song is a promise to leave but come back and do better the second time. I would highly recommend watching their dance practices because the level of detail and synchronization they have is so satisfying to watch!
