Can I just say how much I appreciate these women for sharing their story. Love from Jamaica 🇯🇲

I’m also a PK got married at 21. I went though similar situation. After lobola my life was hell. He was beating me up. I was cheated on on top of the abuse. I Was so naive and always apologising. A year later I couldn’t pretend anymore, cos People thought we were happy. We got divorced. I could say a lot but I’m happy to see you speak out. So I’m not the only one who went through such cos I’d always ask God why me. I lived for God. But Acts 8:28 I’m not bold enough to speak of my scars publicly till today but I thank God I’m alive and healing. .. I’m so proud of you sis!

About the honeymoon part, it completely proves what I always say; it's not about the place you go but who you go with. You could even go to Paris, but if you go with the wrong person, you will not enjoy anything. Always make a point of travelling somewhere with your partner before marriage,,, getting out of your comfort zones makes all the true colours come out.

Exactly what happened to me and I can tell you that the most difficult prayer is asking God to let his will prevail, i felt peace beyond human understanding as the judge dissolved my marriage. I heard his voice that still small voice in the midst of my trail he said " I will give you what you NEED not WANT. wow, I am 33 and I have an idea of being desperate for marriage because of society. Being born again with so much of our African influence, you are constantly reminded of your age but I thank the Lord for removing me from that environment and getting to know myself more. The problem starts when you try to do things at your own time. The Bible says “Acknowledge Him in all that you do and He will direct your path”. As a child of God your steps should be ordered by the Holy Spirit, nothing and no one else.

This is so powerful... One thing i have also realized is that sometimes prayer and fasting doesn't make some situations to go away but they just give you the strength to pass true some difficult situation and to accept the situations. Just like God did with the son of David, he prayed and fasted to God that his son may live and not Die but God's will in that situation was for the son to die, and that prayer and fasting made him to accept the situation.

My life story told in 33 minutes...God bless your soul and I am glad he didn’t break you because that situation can break any woman and make on being self doubtful.

I was engaged to a Man like that too... He literally worshipped the ground I walked on... but He suddenly switched up on me couple of months before our wedding, and at the time I didn’t know why... Later on, I found out that He wanted to marry me bcz of my Inheritance... He was 10 years my senior and had a stable job, so it was hard for me to ever imagine that he was a Con Man... When he realized I didn’t want my parents to sponsor our Wedding, I wanted a Prenup, and I expected Him to provide for me and the kids we were gonna have just like my father did for us, He became very mean to me and ghosted 5 months ago and I never heard from Him ever since... At least I got closure cuz his cousin told me everything 😅

The problem is when after the wedding, days, weeks, and months go by and the husband doesn't consummate the marriage. My first thoughts would be: Is not a Christian at all; lied about being a virgin, and feel guilty about past sexual sin(that kind of thing does happen); has a STD; has performance issues(hydraulics are shot on that elevator); hates women; resents wife because he was pressured into marrying her; is gay.

The part when she said "...commit suicide to see if his mind is working well.." had me laughing real hard I love your personality though. One day you will find a man that will love you for who you are, respect you and be happy with. Your experience teaches me to never settle for less and accept it when your partner is toxic (anyone for that matter), not to make any excuses for him because you might find yourself in a really serious situation which might even cost you your life. Most importantly to forget about what people might say or think of you, one's happiness and well-being should be a priority.

What I have noticed us as Devoted Christian what we should do prior to get married is to put up petition for God for him to confirm if they are the one for us , like how Gideon asked from the Lord by placing an animal skin outside so he must find it wet as a go ahead and dry as a rejection, Judges6:37

Thank you for this beautiful story. There are so many lessons to learn here: 1) The pressures we put on ourselves for being Christians. We want to be perfect. The perfect wife, the perfect friend, the perfect daughter. 2) Caring too much about the "what will people say syndrome". It doesn't matter, they will talk anyway. 3) Not loving ourselves enough to put our needs first. 4) The pressures the society puts on us for wanting to be married at a certain age, have children at a certain age, be promoted at a certain age, be perfect. No one is perfect. Your own race, your own lane, your one pace. Everything happens at the time God has set. I am glad God pulled you out of this. I believe many will learn from your experience.
