The fact that LaBrie can sound this awesome despite rupturing his vocal cords at one time should earn him some fucking respect around here!

Nowadays though.. jesus it's bad
For LaBrie to be singing PMU as the last song of the night, and hitting all those notes still (fairly well), I thought it was the opener! Can't really knock him can you?
Best performance of Pull Me Under by LaBrie in a LONG FREAKING TIME! Hell, everyone his fantastic! Best recording of it since Live at the Marquee. Seriously though, LaBrie is on his A game!
James's voice sounds like in the "Awake" album!!! It's great!
I must not be the only one who listens to this song at least once a week, maybe twice and sometimes three times... It just never get old.
What happened to LaBrie? His voice got so much better..
Some of Petrucci's solos make me cry. This is one of them.
An amazing performance by the whole band! Labrie nailed this one, I just think that he doesn't need that harsh tone that much. I love his clean singing! (:

I reckon in this context the harsher tone works, I personally think he should use it if he struggles in the “Watch the Sparrow” section

He did rupture his vocal cords and is amazing he sounds this good...
James sounds amazing in this song and I don't say that based on the high notes. I say that based on his level of control and revigorated energy on stage. He's always been an amazing vocalist and shows his full potential in this one.
They played it very percussively and angrily this time. I am glad to hear this song be played differently.
My fucking god I need to go to a DT show.

Well I'm going to see Shattered Fortress this November with the added unbelievable pleasure of meeting Mike Portnoy himself, so I guess that's the best substitute imaginable, LOL!

They still got it! Running since '92 with this song and never changes! Forever a classic
That's one of my favorite & the greatest song from them.
LaBrie is a monster! But Pull me under is a beautiful song.
Wow JLB sounds really good here! Wish he sound like this at every show 😢
"Pull Me Under" Lost in the sky Clouds roll by and I roll with them Arrows fly Seas increase and then fall again This world is spinning around me This world is spinning without me and Every day sends future to past Every breath leaves me one less to my last Watch the sparrow falling Gives new meaning to it all If not today nor yet tomorrow Then some other day I'll take seven lives for one And then my only father's son As sure as I did ever love him I am not afraid This world is spinning around me The whole world keeps spinning around me All life is future to past Every breath leaves me one less to my last Pull me under, pull me under Pull me under, I'm not afraid All that I feel is honor and spite All I can do is to set it right Dust fills my eyes Clouds roll by and I roll with them Centuries cry Orders fly and I fall again This world is spinning inside me The whole world is spinning inside of me Every day sends future to past Every step brings me closer to my last Pull me under, pull me under Pull me under, I'm not afraid Living my life too much in the sun Only until your will is done Pull me under, pull me under Pull me under, I'm not afraid All that I feel is honor and spite All I can do is set it right Pull me under, pull me under Pull me under, I'm not afraid Living my life too much in the sun Only until your will is done Oh that this too Too solid flesh Would melt
john p. tone is KILLER here!!!!
The vocals of James are really good, the performance was fantastic!
Song has never ceased to give me chills.
Almost Cried!!!! Best live show!!! Amazing is not enough

2:48 - Petrucci is really feelin' the Mangini vibes.
.. i agree on M.Mangini looking bored. it's not his usual facial expressions when playing but still i can feel his stage presence just by looking at his limbs, ti's so good to the visual sense seing him go from right-to-left-sided playing. and as for the crowd, that's always the crowd of a DT concert coz they can't catch up with the constant change of time signature. but again, james on the end of the song. fracking love it !!!
Heavy metal with keyboards! Great live performance!
Sound quality is simply unbelievable. Awesome work!
man Mangini is playing it like in the album, amazing !
JAMES IS A PHOENIX!!!
I am usually not a great fan of Labrie's live singing but this one was absolutely stunning. So much energy still after all these years!
Am I the only one who replay this song just to see how Jordan Rudess knocks off the keyboard? Hahaha
Is it just me, or is James REAAAALLY improving his live performance, voice-wise?
They look they're having so much fun! And LaBrie sounds like a slightly more matured version of his early 90's self, which is awesome.
Oh my God...that LaBrie's vocal....I admire so much...
7:16 fack yea Love both the old version and this new fresh one!
6:59 pull me under? Pull me under!
Love the wizard hat!
Yes. Yes I am ready.
gracias!!!! Dream por esta alegria de grabar el dvd en mi pais. los admiro mucho...son mi banda preferida.
Hey Dream Theater! I have been a fan of you guys for years, and I really want to thank you. You have opened my eyes, made me see a widen panoramic picture. I love your progressive side, but I also love the pop side, Those soft and emotional moments in the music. As both a vocalist and a composer I feel honored to have had the chance to learn from you guys. So glad that you live in my lifetime and not in a thousand years from now! Keep rocking and please never let me down

what a band man mesmising talent and so natural the timing they have althought its all timings love em xx
he has his bad moments and his good, his vocals for the 20th anniversery dvd his vocals were amzing for that concert
Man, seeing how well he performs this song, then seeing labrie completely unable to hit the high parts 7 years later is sad
Likes Jordan Rudess wizard's hat!
I still have great respect for Mike Portnoy. The legacy that Mike Portnoy left in Dream Theater can never be replaced. Mike Portnoy left the band for reasons only know to him. Mike Mangini is in the drivers seat now so to speak. I wish Mike Portnoy all the best with his new band “Son’s of Apollo”.
Just hearing the intro gives me the chills up the back of me neck! Just fascinating!
This is for sure the best version of PMU.
@ljcruz4466

I still choose the 2008 version (the version they featured in Guitar Hero: World Tour) and the original version but this version is really great!
Mangini really brings a whole new element to Dream Theater. He really drives the music like Peart drives Rush, as opposed to just going through the motions.
@nightshadow848
Жыл бұрын
No he doesn't and how dare you disrespect Neil Peart like that. Christ almighty. If anybody comes close to Neil's drumming it's Mike Portnoy. Mangini just simply sucks dude. He's so robotic and lifeless drumming it sounds like generic shit. He always fucks up the Portnoy Era songs I cringe. Dude can't even play 6:00 from Awake properly.
Massive sound! I never listen something like that before!
Labrie Canta geníal en esta presentación!!! como en sus mejores tiempos!!
The mixing is not done very well cuz can't hear the kick drums smoothly :(
@MSA

glad the kicks dont sound like axes here, but like bass drums as they should
@Dinozzo1995
7 жыл бұрын
You're saying it's impossible to have good kick drum sound if it's not triggered? Because that's nonsense. I too think it's the mixing. The whole band sounds mellow and too soft here.
Overall I like Mangini better than Portnoy but I have to say Portnoy owns this song live and really makes it better than the studio version...Mangini is just doing the studio version note for note and it's kind of boring.

Nothing to be with Mangini. LaBrie sings better now because his vocal chords are now cured. Except for, he doesn't, for example, at 2:07, you can't even hear the note difference at "sky", because of that ridiculous "rasp" he added.
i'm not gonna say mangini is bad, but i love portnoy's style more :|
4:33 Blown away!
Can't wait til this release. Hoping they have some special camera features available.
i think you're missing part of your soul. it's good don't get me wrong, but it's just portnoy who happens to have lots charisma.
Dream Theater got a hell of a lot better since hiring mangini.
@1:50 Damnit Mangini! LOL that’s bad-assery!
