As a professional bike mechanic, from my experience if you do it right, it should take about 30 minutes to build a mile up from scratch(if you experienced). Pre assembled bikes take about 15-20.

For amateur, when Park Tools is too expensive. U can buy TOOPRE or Taff. It's more cheap and doesn't reduce the meaning of a function.
