Radically different to the original De Mille choreography, but an equally valid reinterpretation.

In reality if any man assaults another man proposing to a woman, he'd be in jail. There definitely are scoundrels like Jud in real life

Well, back then it was kind of, the law of the west, but otherwise, yeah. I see what you're saying. He tried to murder Curly (more than once, probably) in the "real life" part of it too. The dream sequence is just *even more* creepy, scary, villainous, etc.

Jud probably thinks that he will stop at nothing to be with Laurey, but actually he could probably kill her too and not even notice until afterward. Some people are seriously scary and creepy. From both Laurey and Annie there's a lot that girls can learn from this musical, about how to be more careful around...strange...men. @___@

Watching the ending of this scene: I wouldn't still go with him if I woke up like that and he was actually there. Ick. >__ She really should know better than that. Gross. 😝
