First off all, thank you for the videos round Ubiquiti, Unifi and Edgerouter :) Made my ER-4 L2TP-Ipsec connection run very stable, until I realized it dont work with more that one client from same location. Knowing Draytek for a while, I just exchanged ER-4 to vigor2960. So I'm really looking forward to your experience with Draytek.

When I lived in the UK, I used Draytek a lot. Very stable, very fast, lots of options. Now of course speeds have gone up, but this was 10+ years ago and we had 60Mbit/sec multiple fixed WAN then. Nice piece of kit.

Draytek are a funny one, they are very common here in the uk in the SME space, they have tons of features and for the money and are fairly well supported with firmware updates etc, and now they have cloud management via VigorACS (although it has a weird licensing model unless you’re a reseller then you get it for free) - I think with a little investment into the physical design and the interface design, plus a free for all self hosted controller and some strong investment in social / influencer marketing - and position them selves as the ‘cool’ brand - they could be a true rival for UniFi - i often deploy the vigor routers for small / low budget clients along with UniFi AP’s and it works very well, they even have a licensed web filtering option that is very well priced - It’s a shame the UniFi USG’s aren’t as powerful as the Vigors!

I have a Meraki mx84, and always thought Meraki was the King. The DrayTek system seems so much more organized and easy to navigate than the Meraki system. Just bought one of these and looking forward to checking it out!

Draytek Vigor2960 and VigorSwitch G2280x is a great pair.

Draytek have been around a long time, I have been using it for years. Price wise, not cheap when compared to others but where it works great, horizontal Multi-WAN. Easy to setup with load balance or policy based. What they don't do, anything UTM style. They are just a firewall/Router. Don't waste your time on them if you want higher network security, simply don't have the balls. Another area to watch, firmwares. There are several models that have very close identifications yet have different firmwares and can easily be flashed with wrong version.

Have you done any more videos on the Vigor 2960? Can't see any and I want to get mine set up fully.

We used them for years in the UK. They were the first prosumer/business easy to manage unit. As routers they are ok, stay away from anything that has WiFi built in, they are absolutely shocking. Biggest issue they have is they are slow and haven’t moved on in years. One important thing to note, any of the models that are lower down in the range use a different type of firmware with fewer features and different (similar) UI.

What happened to the other videos on the 2960? I can't find any in your list.....i've been using the same router at home now for 2 years or so. Have had a few issues with VLAN working with Cisco properly....the USB interfaces for the WAN3 and 4 are a bit flaky as well. Dual wan works extremely well with Session based aggregation. Love to see more videos on this device. I also have P1212 poe router, G1280 router as well.

Draytrk have always been feature rich... It's a secret vendor that we don't discuss, else they'll be tempted to raise prices.

This thing looks interesting. Please fix the volume difference from intro to the rest of the video.

Are there any routers of this type that have the LAN ports giving out AT/AF PoE? Some EdgeRouters can do this, but their PoE is passive.

Cisco C891F-K9 have POE on 8 LAN ports but the throughput is about 125MBit/s.

Been using draytek for many many years..... Always called them vigor ( v-eye-gor)

Just received my vigor2960.. VPN lines are stable again. Speedtest show round 955/945Mbit on 1Gbit fiber line.. Like in very stable.. think its okay :) That said, its without QoS and some of the build in firewall stuff.. one thing, there are settings round LAN DNS, but im missing how to setup short names like in a host file where IP address point on say nas1 or nas2 local and not domain names.. Maybe that somehow could be solved or with use of dnsmasq in a linux vm or pi.

Hejsa Kim, you might never read this; but I have tried a lot and for me the best solution was to use Draytek for VPM/Modem and Unifi for the rest. If you need setup tips feel; free to contact me.

Sold as bountiful in 2008 in US

i was very disappointed about Draytek , it was advertised as a gbit router but capped out at around 130mbit -( so very false specs and i couldnt use it anymore , i droped it in the bin

Just received my vigor2960.. speedtest show 955/945Mbit on 1Gbit fiber.

Vigor is pronounced veye gore................. eye as in eyes :)
