they didnt really breakdown basketball, more about the stories surrounding it and all that I wished they could dive deeper on plays, sets, defensive strategies

This episode is gold. Interviewing one of the best defenders in the league whose been to 5 finals, a future HOF player, and played with arguably two of the best shooters of all time. It was interesting listening to Drays perspective on basketball and life, super insightful

Yes! When I was reading about trading Wiseman, Kuminga and Moses for some NBA star free agent, I was thinking: the Warriors won in '74-75 starting rookie Keith Wilkes at small forward, rookie Phil Smith off the bench. A wonderful mix of new and veteran players; Butch Beard, Bill Bridges, of course Rick Barry and Charles Johnson(second year player, from Cal(!)) with Derrick Dickey(1yr) and George Johnson (1yr)(another very young player) and Charles Dudley(1yr) (a wonderful interview, also young). Clifford Ray, as you know, was acquired for Nate (the great) Thurmond in a trade with Chicago, who they played against for the (Western? WTF?) title was in his third year.

While watching this podcasts and hearing that Draymond actually stayed in college all 4 years I looked up his major, and I'm not surprised it was communications. This podcast really showed his way of thinking and expressing himself clearly and eloquently.

@@nsa4613 I don't think he's that dirty, though he does do all the holds and vet tricks that good post defenders do. That kick on Steven Adams was crazy. But aside from that, it's hard to remember him injuring another player once in his entire career, NBA and college included. And in recent years there are several examples of him catching guys and preventing a dangerous play. A dirty player would have at least a couple plays they wanted to hurt someone.

I don't watch alot of Grizzlies games but I catch them vs the Warriors and random ones on national tv. I've always thought Ja was the anti-Westbrook -- athletic as hell but has a shot, amazing BBIQ, and takes what the defense gives him. That is one dangerous player.

JJ's questions hit the points we all want to know about the inner workings of that Warriors dynasty and about how Dray fits into it. Draymond's answers give such detailed analysis on so many aspects of the NBA we don't get to see. Hope y'all can collab more like this again.

Draymonds easily the best interviewer in the league cuz he can articulate every detail. He's a natural when it comes to TV and media.

I watched this after failing my B1 building exam. The spirt and tension of failure and success I heard permeated throughout this interview will give me the juice needed to crush when I retake in a couple weeks. Cheers. Steph, Klay and Draymond are a perfect trio, each has a weakness the other 2 cover. Steph isn't the best defender (though better than many think), but Draymond and Klay are all defense caliber defenders. Draymond is not a good scorer/shooter, Steph and Klay are 2 of the best shot makers in NBA history (especially off the ball). Klay is not the best playmaker, but Steph and Draymond are excellent playmakers and Draymond especially is one of the best facilitators in league history (which isn't just raw assist numbers).

This was so great. At around the 48 min mark Tommy interjected and asked some great questions after JJ and Dray had made great takes. It made me really appreciate the overall convo y’all had. Great content love yall

I’m from the Bay Area , & for the longest I’ve been a Michigan State basketball fan. I was shocked when I heard that the warriors drafted Draymond Green. Could not believe teams passed up on # 23. My favorite player on Golden State is # 23 because he hold his teammates accountable during the game because he hates loosing.Every team need’s a floor leader who keeps the energy high throughout the game , all 82 game’s.

As a Celtics fan, I can't help myself liking Draymond the more I see him in these moments. I've gained a newfound appreciation for him. He's awesome for basketball.

I would agree...but basketball analysis hasnt evolved to the point where people can eye test how good someone is. Draymond offers defense, playmaking, dog mentality - all very integral things to a winning team that need to be done on a high level

This interview is the BEST interview I’ve seen so far. A lot of hoop heads need to see this because you guys explained everything about the league and what goes on, not to mention going into his version of what was going on with GSW. Love this , thank you JJ 💯💯

When Draymond is done with basketball, I want to see him teamed up with JJ on some show somewhere. They are awesome together ❤️

Extremely entertaining episode. No wonder he signed a multi-year media deal because when he talks basketball, you just sit and listen. He has the perfect personality for talking basketball. The way he portrays his knowledge is just very entertaining. This is something very few basketball players have. Credit must also be given to JJ and Tommy to ask the right questions and allow Draymond to elaborate on his answers.

It’s good because Draymond is a good person to interview. Most players wouldnt be a good interview for this long.

I’ve took the longer train home so I can listen to the whole pod without my mrs giving me grief. I can listen to Dray talk all day, the intelligence & insight is amazing… I’m glad he’s the heart of our team, couldn’t ask for anything better.

Great interview. Used to cheer for the Cavs in those finals, but I respect the warriors.

Warriors are so lucky to have this man on their team. His leadership is so underrated. Just like everything else. You can already see the young guys playing like vets. Enjoying the game, playing the game the right way. The way he can rip into them mid game and they just respond like total pros. Top notch dude. Can't wait for him to coach the dubs one day.

At first I was not a Draymond fan but man over the years I have grown to love this guy! Mad respect for this guy and the way he thinks and breakdown real life stuff... This is the best interview of the podcast.

I've watched this before and ended up here again because I was watching other podcasts of yours. As a non-tenure track teacher, the free agency conversation hits so hard.

Wow it's wild I didn't realize how long this video was...it went by so quickly! Draymond is extremely insightful and well spoken on basketball. You can see how much better the Warriors are with him playing both on offense AND defense.

First ballot HoF, one of the best defenders ever, one of the +/- savants. And one of the most underrated players ever. Great episode, love the longer format, love the openness, love the insight. I just always miss Rubio's being named in those 'most intelligent players', but as Dray said and we all know, winning solves problems and not winning…

Draymond is the man. He puts it all out there, on the court and on the interviews. I love this guy.

I have watched every single episode of TOMTT, and I can tell you by far.... this is the best eppy yet and probably to 5 best sportscast interviews today. Very civil conversation, very well put together, the host knows when to ask questions and when to commentate. I just need Tommy& JJ to promise to bring Dray back cuz this was a hit!!!!! 10/10 for sure.

Alot he’s saying isn’t really all that surprising I wouldn’t call it common sense because its not common but its nothing that insightful truthfully many players probably have his knowledge they just cant implement it into their game because they aren’t as quick thinkers or talented simple as that, basketball isn’t complicated at all the best basketball players keep it simple.

Could've been a 10 hour episode and I would have still listen after 9 hours Draymond is just such a great guy, open minded and so good in his language. He will have a career of his own after his nba career. Hope they win this Year, would change the whole course of the gsw legacy

Draymond for the longest time was acknowledged as the "heart and soul" of the Warriors in their dynasty runs yet I feel Curry fans dont give him his just due.

Curry fans don't, Warriors fans do though. Most true dubs fans are absolutely aware of how pivotal he is to everything

Draymond is awesome, but as a fan of Curry i can tell you that when media and fans were saying if they won in 2016 or 2019 , Draymond deserved FMVP which is why Curry fans get annoyed. Draymond is absolutely valuable but he doesnt get to Draymond without Curry.

Give AD his due for winning 2020 chip, same for ky in 2016 .. lebron gets all the credit when his team wins; why isn't the same courtesy offered to curry (the best and most important player on the warriors) when his team wins?

We are seeing it now this season; the Lakers are a .500 team without AD playing at a superstar level .. and that's with another all star caliber, former mvp being on that team. Can you imagine the slander steph would receive if it was him leading that team (as opposed to lestatpad)?
