Brrruuuuuuhhh Premiere had me retry the encoding like 420 times, it's a miracle it worked. It must be hard to handle all the firepower. This time it's the males' turn, MUSCLES. I show how I construct my male characters in this new episode of KZread ART School. Sit TIGHT. Also hope you have a good weekend, or whatever. Good luck.

Your sketches are so clean. Me sketching: messing around with hundreds of lines until I get the lucky stroke: oh yeah looks good like that
@red7391
2 жыл бұрын
You should practice drawing lines. I recommend marking two dots each on a different part of the paper and then connecting them with a line, or something like that. You should really practice since repeating several strokes means you don't have enough confidence, which is not good. Hope this helped, have a nice day 😁👍

@@red7391 I can do clean lineart over a sketch. So far, so good. Guess I'm not so bad handling a pen. But doing clean sketch over nothing. (he could basically use a darker pen brush right away and basically skip the sketch phase) That's master level!

I (almost) always draw line figure/sketch first for try find pose/angle I want and easy check/fix proportion. Next build simple body parts (cylinders, spheres, elipse, block, bucket, Loomis head, etc) on figure. Very easy try simple idea very fast and have perspective. Last, draw anatomy and use reference. This method can draw anything if patient.

Litely I started trying to draw adult muscular male bodies and it wasn't until I checked the muscles and anatomy somewhere else that I realised of how helpless I was... This video comes in the right time for me. Thank you!
Finally, a really interesting and diverse tutorial on how to draw male characters / body types. Because all you see is female body types. Unfortunately every other video on male anatomy was the same and I couldn't really learn from it because they didn't explain it in a way for me to understand it clearly. I love this! Thank you for sharing ❤️✨

Try to imagine your characters doing something. Like what could they be doing? Could they be playing video games, skiing, climbing a tree, hanging out (with friends) at a cafe, running away, robbing a bank, on a picnic, killing a monster, crying in bed or etc? It really helps knowing your character's personality, hobbies, profession, what they're like, what they're feeling and what they often do. If you have no clue how to draw the pose or scenario you've just imagined, I recommend trying to find references online (like on google images or Pinterest or wherever you can just find pictures). If it's difficult to find references you could try to act that activity yourself to get a feel for how the limbs, back, head and so on would be positioned and bent. If you can't come up with a scenario in the first place then that's a bit tricky, but perhaps doing something irl or experiencing a game/movie/book or remembering an interesting activity/experience you or someone else did/had in the past could help and give inspiration.

*Originally an edit in my previous post, but it felt a tad intimidating there so I made it into its own thing. If you just want your characters posing for the camera but you still wanna give them an interesting pose even if they're really just there, it's a bit tricky to explain but here are some things that can help in that sort of case. To make the pose interesting the hip and the shoulders should kind of like point to each other a bit. Like imagine the top line that's pointing down on this larger than symbol > are the shoulders and the lower line pointing up is the hip. So the back is slightly curved like ( this. The more dramatic you go, the more dramatic the character's pose will be. (Honestly the back being curved (even slightly in some direction) is one of the most important factors in making an interesting pose.) There should almost always be an (even slightly) curved line going through your character. (Also your character is 3D so the curve can be pointing to the camera or away from it and the curve can be just this ( or like an S but not as extreme) (Though be sure to not overdo it for the more reserved characters) The hands should always be made to reflect the character's personality and/or if they're doing something special/interesting with them. The more inward they are, the more timid/reserved they'll usually look (or something to that effect idk, test it out) and the more outstretched they are, the more outwardly open (or even dramatic) they'll look. ALso the camera angle can be changed and where the character looks as well as where the head is tilted and changing that up makes poses usually way more interesting. You don't have to go extreme with the different camera-angles, but even a slight angle is better than having it be just head-on. The character's personality is the most important thing when making a pose for them tho. "What could they be doing, what are they feeling and what are they like?" should still always be asked even when they're just posing for the camera.

Thanks for the tip it really helped
im good at drawings females but males have always been a struggle for me this is pretty helpful! your sketches are so good too
Don't watch these things too often, though wicked to see an artist so readily able to draw their characters so distinct from one another. Head/body sizes, facial features. Quality stuff.
I love how your drawings have a lot of personnality, even when you didn't put any details or accessories. This is something I look up to, and I know your Art class will help me awaken this part of me. Thank you again, I always watch your videos during my breaks, so much inspiration and your way of teaching things is really accessible. Keep up the good work!
I've been struggling with drawing male bodies for a while now, thanks so much for this video! I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone!
that explosion- and yes :D i was waiting for this video and it's finally out :3 thanks marc!
You absolute legend, I just started drawing the male figure for a fantasy illustration and I was like.. how df do I blow out some things without making them look ridiculous! Thank you so much, now my character looks more believable, I guess it also comes with practice, muscles/ bones/joints knowledge and confidence.
YAYYYYYYYY🎉 Congrats on the 500K!🎉 I’m so happy for you. you deserve it so much. Halfway to 1M 😍 Awesome video as usual 🌸
Yes, Please make a video on different body types, what to consider, what to avoid, that would be so helpful

marcs videos are always great and i always feel like im learning something new unlike alot of other art youtubers who just say the same things
I’ll be happy with almost anything you upload Marc, There is so much to learn So thank you good sir!
Amazing drawings! Your tutorials helped me improve in such a short time thanks
i needed this so badly! you’re amazing at explaining this stuff ^-^

Thank you for making this! It was super helpful and very cool! OH, and I'd love to see a video about the different body types, what makes them work, and the things to avoid! Thank you for your time!
I really was waiting for this , thank you 💙
You helped me draw attractive males. I knew the basics, but this makes it so much easier. When I draw my hands, they always look masculine, even though I'm really good at females... but now you leveled up my male drawing skills and I think I'll be better at drawing males now. Now I just have to level up on feminine hands and speed drawing.
It's here! Thank you Marc for the tutorial as always!
Thank you for this!! I was super excited when you liked my comment about wanting to see a video for the male anatomy. This was super insightful and helpful!
I just wanna say a BIG THANK YOU Marc, these videos have been a godsend to me in a time when I thought my art was stagnating thank you so much

Cool to see your process! I will try this and compare the results with my normal approach!
Oh my god, I'm gonna try that feet technique.
This is best male construction and break down! Thank you for this. Can u do more full body videos? I’ve been having a hard time connecting everything. This videos makes it much easier to break down parts im intimidated of and completing .
Great work man! I love to dig more of this recipe. Thanks a lot!
thanks! have been waiting for a video like this for a while! thanks for doing my request!!! would love a video like u said about different body types! :D
The body type video sounds amazing!
I've been waiting for thiiiiiisssss!!
Thank you for this tip. Because of this I take another step on improving my game!.
Wow, I think i've found my way now, this looks easy and when i do try it, it'll be my first time doing guidelines for my art! (My art still looks good but just without a set construction or guide)
Fucking AWSOME!One question is it possible for your next tutorial to be on foreshortening using this method of construction?
This is so good and so helpful!! Thanks so much
For me male body is so hard with this video I you gave me a easy way for not to complicate to much myself xD thx
You look like the guy from the rasputin music video, and that is the best compliment I have ever given to someone
EXACTLY what I needed, thank you!!
THIS VIDEO IS SO HELPFUL!!!!!! thankyouuuu
I'm a new subscriber and I think that YOU are a great artist and an excellent instructor!!
Thanks for this Sir Marc. Gonna stay updated my sense of anatomy.
I love it!! Make more videos like this!!!
Thank you for being considerate about recording the video in 60fps!
Drawing the two ellipses where the feet should be helps alot! Thanks for the video Marc.
this is was so helpful! thank you so much!
Thank you for this! This is really helpful (also the female one)! Really need this 💕
Marc is so chill and awesome..
Time to sit back and enjoy, thanks Marc!
Thanks for your recipe !! :D Would definitely be up for more tips.
I have been drawing for a week and I have been searching for tutorials to learn from I'm happy I found your channel
Thank you so much for this!!!
Thanks so much Marc!
Yeeeeeeeeessssssss!!!! I've been waiting for this.
I really like the way you put the base of the foot on the ground plane and then make the connection
Great video Marc.
your videos are killer Mark - thanks so much man.
Very much an underrated video. Thank you!
Awesome Video!
a video on how you render your drawings would be great! (ur finishing style)
That is so helpful thank you for doing this. Most of the time ppl just tell you to draw a hulk basically, so it does not really spark imagination (tho it is more of a guideline I guess). But construction lets you do different body types, so this really is key c:
Love this video
Thank you brother for this tutorial! Hope you doing good Love yuh man
You uploaded this just as I was studying male bodies
I think different body types would be a nice video. Exploring the different ranges can be a nice lesson.
