Brrruuuuuuhhh Premiere had me retry the encoding like 420 times, it's a miracle it worked. It must be hard to handle all the firepower. This time it's the males' turn, MUSCLES. I show how I construct my male characters in this new episode of KZread ART School. Sit TIGHT. Also hope you have a good weekend, or whatever. Good luck.

You should practice drawing lines. I recommend marking two dots each on a different part of the paper and then connecting them with a line, or something like that. You should really practice since repeating several strokes means you don't have enough confidence, which is not good. Hope this helped, have a nice day 😁👍

I (almost) always draw line figure/sketch first for try find pose/angle I want and easy check/fix proportion. Next build simple body parts (cylinders, spheres, elipse, block, bucket, Loomis head, etc) on figure. Very easy try simple idea very fast and have perspective. Last, draw anatomy and use reference. This method can draw anything if patient.

Try to imagine your characters doing something. Like what could they be doing? Could they be playing video games, skiing, climbing a tree, hanging out (with friends) at a cafe, running away, robbing a bank, on a picnic, killing a monster, crying in bed or etc? It really helps knowing your character's personality, hobbies, profession, what they're like, what they're feeling and what they often do. If you have no clue how to draw the pose or scenario you've just imagined, I recommend trying to find references online (like on google images or Pinterest or wherever you can just find pictures). If it's difficult to find references you could try to act that activity yourself to get a feel for how the limbs, back, head and so on would be positioned and bent. If you can't come up with a scenario in the first place then that's a bit tricky, but perhaps doing something irl or experiencing a game/movie/book or remembering an interesting activity/experience you or someone else did/had in the past could help and give inspiration.

*Originally an edit in my previous post, but it felt a tad intimidating there so I made it into its own thing. If you just want your characters posing for the camera but you still wanna give them an interesting pose even if they're really just there, it's a bit tricky to explain but here are some things that can help in that sort of case. To make the pose interesting the hip and the shoulders should kind of like point to each other a bit. Like imagine the top line that's pointing down on this larger than symbol > are the shoulders and the lower line pointing up is the hip. So the back is slightly curved like ( this. The more dramatic you go, the more dramatic the character's pose will be. (Honestly the back being curved (even slightly in some direction) is one of the most important factors in making an interesting pose.) There should almost always be an (even slightly) curved line going through your character. (Also your character is 3D so the curve can be pointing to the camera or away from it and the curve can be just this ( or like an S but not as extreme) (Though be sure to not overdo it for the more reserved characters) The hands should always be made to reflect the character's personality and/or if they're doing something special/interesting with them. The more inward they are, the more timid/reserved they'll usually look (or something to that effect idk, test it out) and the more outstretched they are, the more outwardly open (or even dramatic) they'll look. ALso the camera angle can be changed and where the character looks as well as where the head is tilted and changing that up makes poses usually way more interesting. You don't have to go extreme with the different camera-angles, but even a slight angle is better than having it be just head-on. The character's personality is the most important thing when making a pose for them tho. "What could they be doing, what are they feeling and what are they like?" should still always be asked even when they're just posing for the camera.

That is so helpful thank you for doing this. Most of the time ppl just tell you to draw a hulk basically, so it does not really spark imagination (tho it is more of a guideline I guess). But construction lets you do different body types, so this really is key c:

I think different body types would be a nice video. Exploring the different ranges can be a nice lesson.

Gotta say, Indicating position of elbows, forarms, knees, hands things like that first instead of trying to figure out limb position is insanely helpful. Thanks!
