Its due to pencil led and compass needle thickness. When u poke the compass in new arc position- due to thickness and position error- larger figures would be difficult to construct..

sorry to contradict - but if h(n) = distance from centroid (ie center of mass or center of circumscribed circle) of n-sided equilateral polygon of side length = UNITY = 1 to midpoint of any side then h(n) = 0.5 * tan ( THETAn / 2) where THETAn = 360 / n and all angles are measured in degrees. so h(3) = 0.5* tan (180/3) = 0.288675134 h(4) = 0.5* tan (180/4) = 0.500000000 h(5) = 0.5* tan (180/5) = 0.688190960 h(6) = 0.5* tan (180/6) = 0.866025403 h(7) = 0.5* tan (180/7) = 1.038260698 h(8) = 0.5* tan (180/8) = 1.207106781 furthermore - the line segment length which is constructed here is b = (h(6)- h(4))/2 = 0.183012702 the video claims that all length differences h(4)-h(3) = 0.211324866 h(5)-h(4) = 0.188190960 h(6)-h(5) = 0.177834443 h(7)-h(6) = 0.172236668 h(8)-h(7) = 0.168846083 etc are IDENTICAL to the constructed line segment length b = 0.183012702 which claim is clearly false - although the actual length differences are fairly close to length b.
