I can't recognize him. He is completely different from what he was in Shorty's. He was like a mad scientist with an explosive hair style. He was very thin at the time.

I have 1978 Santa Cruz Steve Olson. My father gave it to me on 10/08/1979 in his birthday. Today 43 years ago.

What a beast of a sculpture Steve Olson. BMX is part of our collective history. That's our roots right there. You know, from the "On Any Sunday" 1era. That led to skating for so many of us. Rad!

his over cambered boards with the death dagger nose. Such a rad dude. I've head the raddest stories of him and Alva in Paris. Won't repeat them here. Legend.

This is what I try to explain to young skaters, every town, every state and every generation has a "grandpa" in skateboarding. For me it was 80's DoggTown. But this man is an icon I respect the hell out of him.
