Drawing for Beginners in Procreate
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video, learn how to draw basic shapes with Procreate. We start out with a circle, turning it into a sphere through the magic a shading (using standard brushes that come with Procreate). Then we move on to drawing lines and ellipses to form a cylinder, shading it to make it a 3D shape. Next up, the cube which takes shape from a square and two diamond shaped drawings. Again, we shade our drawing to transform it into a 3D box. Finally, we draw triangles and transform them into a 3D cone and a 3D prism.
All of this is done with a monochrome palette, taking the complexity down a notch when it comes to shading your drawings and making 3D designs. It's the perfect way to start for beginners--whether you're new to drawing or just new to Procreate.

Thanks again🤗❤️
I just love the way you make such a helpful tutorial - when there are so many tutorials on the ‘non-digital’ approach - you make (although I realise this is ‘basic level’ stuff - I’m still hovering there 😊) the translation to digital much easier and make positive use of its advantages. Sounds simple, but it’s deceptively clever - thank you!

Wow @Pete Gunnel thanks for another awesome comment. It really means a lot and I am so grateful that you “see” my intentions. It’s so fun to share these ideas, but I am still learning how to do it. It makes me super happy to know the impact of it all 🤗❤️
Finally Was able to draw shape with shadows. Thank you!

Yay! I am so glad you enjoyed that one. Thanks for commenting @Pamela Garcia 🤗❤️
This is good. It seems so simple yet it's not that easy. Takes a little getting used to. I like your use of the smudge tool.

I think I'm going to redo it and save the layers:)

I am glad you enjoyed it and thanks for commenting 🤗❤️
p.s.s. I did it! It took awhile. Would it be better to keep the layers and not merge them sine merging them destroys the shading work and you can't go back to it?

Yes! If you have enough memory for the layers, I totally recommend keeping them. I’ll often save a fully layered Procreate file and a flattened JPG or PNG file, too. (I like to be able to go back and rework things, too)🙂

Two finger tap undoes your last moves all the way to a blank screen, unless you’ve saved it and then reopened it. Merging should not change the shading unless you get the layers in the wrong order.
