Thank you! Even though I dont draw, I have artist friends and I know all their struggles far better than I really should, so I take into account what they struggled with and tried my best to learn how to tackle their issues on my own. I indeed see why everyone hates hands, but I cant lie they're kinda fun to draw!

hey man, first of all really solid job and i wish you all the best. it's all about putting time into it, your next drawing maybe worse than the one before it, but i guarantee you your 100th will be better than your first. but I already feel like you have a positive mindset about this whole thing, you're gonna be great. just one thing that's stressing me out, you're just out here free balling art like that. drawing the features right away. and while this is something pros do, they have years of experience. I think your next step forward is to move away from symbol drawing, basically drawing the line as you see it. like symbols on a flat piece of paper. And shift more towards simplifying your elements into basic 3D shapes and sort of imagining them interacting together in 3D space. training that cognitive muscle when studying the masters is guaranteed art gainz. if you like portraits, look up some basic construction techniques like loomis or the two ovals method. you'll get the hang of it in like at most an hour. and just keep some simple 3d shapes in your backpocket; cones, cubes, spheres, and cylinders mostly. good luck and keep on killing it.

Thank you! I explained in a previous video why I don't use guides, which is mainly that I always felt they never helped me all too much in the past and the biggest being that this is just a hobby for me. Not something I plan to eventually make a job or profit off of. Though I'm open to trying again. It could've easily just been a way I was feeling back then, but now I can easily get into it and see a huge benefit. As always, I'm down to draw/learn whatever y'all wanna see from me. All the way from the basics of perspective to anatomy 😁 I'm just having fun with it so we'll see where it goes!

Very cool stuff! I highly recommend to break it down to simple shapes more and try to understand why the piece works so well especially when doing master studies, it will also help you to get proportions much better, I hope you continue!

I suggest using guidelines if you want to make it easier for yourself. They exist like they are a blueprint in order to put out your shape, then you would grab them and shape them like as if you're a blacksmith as a analogy. You can also use the 70/30 rule instead of being a full-hard on perfectionist, the 70% being what you put your time in to make sure it looks proportional and correct (the planning part), the 30% being composing the actual piece. All and all, i think it looks good judging by your observation. Art is subjective after all. Just remember to keep a schedule with breaks in it. Your brain is like a ever changing train, after all.

Absolutely. The reason I dont really use guidelines is cause then I will try to be a full on perfectionist. So id rather just eyeball everything so I can do more drawings instead of focusing too much on just 1. I'll use lil lines from time to time to get things in the general area correctly, but other than that I don't use them. If i were to get into professional state of art I will absolutely learn to use guidlines and anatomy, but for now since it's just a hobby of mine I am not too worried about it. It's all about fun after all 😁

Try to use lighter, more confident brush strokes. Your line weight is too thick. Messy sketches go a long way rather than trying to get clean lines from the beginning. Kudos

try practicing a bunch of different types of lines, changing the intensity/flow and try doing it with only one line, not many hairy lines.
