most of these were actually designed by Oda cuz he draws the straw hats at 40 & 60 in his sbs's, plus he includes their dark future versions like if things didnt go well 4 them

That was a gag in "Film Z" where one of the villains Devil Fruit was to deage things 12 years. She got Chopper, Nami and Robin and it was noticeable (less so with Robin, making her 18, but even still). She also got Brook, who at 78 looked exactly the same.

This is the best age up I’ve seen, for sure. A lot of artists make ‘em look too old and washed up when they’re in their 60s or even younger, and, this is One Piece, guys. They are not gonna let themselves go. Rayleigh is literally 78 years old and looks the way he does, same with Shakky, who’s 64. I’m expecting the Strawhats to be lookin’ fine for a while 😂

There's never going to be a crew as legendary as the straw hats.

I'm just surprised that Chopper would age forward, the 2 year time skip had him going backwards.

Robin seems to get younger as she ages. Pre-timeskip Robin looked a bit older than 28, while post-timeskip Robin looks younger than 30. Not to mention that women in their late 20's/early 30's probably aren't increasing cup sizes every so often.

It's based on (up to Robin) Oda's drawings of what everyone would look like in a "good timeline" at both ages 40 and 60. But he also did the same ages in a "bad timeline". My favorite was how 60 year old "Good Timeline" Sanji resembled Zeff while 60 year old "Bad Timeline" Sanji resembled Judge.

Same. Ageism and youth-obsessed culture make many people think that people in their 30s and 40s look a lot older and uglier than they actually do, whereas many in that range look young and attractive because they are young. People age better nowadays so it's a "rising tides lift all boats" situation where people in their 60s, 70s, and 80s also look better than they used to.

This may happen in one piece, because there is no way that the journey is only 2-3 years. Roger’s adventure was 16 years. He died 22 years ago, and he fought rocks 38 years ago. And sengoku said rocks was roger’s First enemy

I hope when the series ends, Oda shows the crew 20 years later and maybe even 40 years just so we can see them like this in the actual series.

I turned 40 last week, so the algorythm is working! I started watching OP 20 years ago around the end of Alabasta. Let me say it really is an adventure following Luffy and co all these years!

All I'm looking really good. Luffy looking a little bit like the guy he idolized which again love that detail and he looks like a stud. Frankie really is resonating with me. It's kind of hoping Violet would be on there. After all I'm pretty sure even though people forget about that the straw hat still considered her a crew member she just chose to stay on alabaster. But it's still truly a member

He should've added Vivi.. She's still a part of the Strawhat's crew no matter what.

She’s a nakama, she’s not really part of the crew but she is kind of like a close ally, I get what you mean though

The artist obviously decided to go with the "things going totally right" versions, instead of the "going down the wrong path, and NOT aging gracefully" versions Oda drew alongside them. I am happy they included all of the Straw Hats, including Jinbei, and their (temporary?) ally captains Kid and Law. Law is sexy at any age, but I am speaking with a bit of bias since Law is one of my favorite characters. Happy 1000 episodes to the anime, even if the manga made it to the 1000 milestone first in early 2021.
