Tyler Kincade The problem is still funding. Based off the initial announcement, they have been losing money. They can’t band together and operate without some source of revenue. A Patreon, for example, will be only so useful in operations.

im not a huge fan, but they actually were putting out pretty good content for a long time, even when they hit a slump a little while in. unfortunately it seems like some of the upper management pushed Facebook-oriented content instead of funneling people to their youtube or their own website. Even though they reported higher view counts, Facebook doesnt lend itself to the kind of long-term fanbase that they needed to sustain themselves. such a shame that these big businesses that developed out of the early internet seem to keep forgetting how they made a name for themselves in the first place.

At one job I had, we were moving from a satellite building to the main building as they had reduced a few departments and wanted to stop paying rent on the building we were in. As we left, we all somehow put some stuff in out cars that didn't make it to the new lab, including (checking the date for statute of limitations) the very chair I am sitting in. In fact, a few years ago, I got warranty service on the piston because the company (that I no longer worked for) had bought them with all the bells and whistles. Sorry to hear about this unfortunate event, but I love how they still did a "Nathan dies so they get another clone" bit.

"Were not dead" - immediately kills of Nathan- Whatever the case, I love you guys, and your videos have brought me joy and humor the roughest years of my life and I hope the best for all of you.

I didn’t know drawfee was a part of college humor I stopped keeping up with college humor years ago and this lay-off was the first I’ve heard from then in a while.

Man, they really are getting careless with their Nathans, aren’t they?

@@slightlyplant It's also in their "Drawfee is moving offices" video on twitter (it's googlable), which predates the Variety Hour. Also "Drawfee channel update" here on YT, which might've been the first time he died, but also doesn't explain it at all? The last we see him in that one he's still alive, yet the ending makes it clear he died soon after. Oh and if you google "Drawfee new office tour," there's a video on twitter which appears to show a recently activated Nathan acting up a bit. So all told...we seem to be on Nathan 5.0, unless there are any I've missed or the audience hasn't been privy to.

That hurt my soul. I used to check Cracked first thing in the morning every day for years... I checked in on it for the first time in about 3 years. The content just looks like normal click bait cheap articles instead of their clever well researched lists, photoplasties, and hilarious videos.

It was so sad seeing the College Humor office mostly empty like that. To me, that was the most poignant part of the episode, just seeing the debris left over from so many people being laid off.

Notorious Jester I think college humour is gonna try to keep going to some capacity, like it’s the parent company that stopped funding them or something? So subscribing to dropout is probably a good idea if you wanna give them money (even if it’s not just drawfee they did say it’s one of their top priorities)

I’m skeptical of a Patreon. It’ll definitely help but it’s way too early and information is too limited to claim they’ll make bank. We don’t know operational costs or if Drawfee would spin-off. It sounds like CH will only have a few employees left so let’s try to keep our hopes measured.

Seeing their faces paired with their voices is so odd, they feel almost disconnected.

You got to check out the Drawfee variety hour. Lots of faces there. It may help humanize them. But they're still silly cartoon characters as people too.

To me its the same thing for gaming youtubers, we get so used to seeing the characters (or at least their pov) that seeing a normal face seems so weird Then in the following videos it gets even weirder, like theyre just voicing over someone else's recording

Thank you guys, for bringing us all so much joy with your content. I don't know what I would do if this layoff were the end of Drawfee. College Humor was one of the first channels I had ever heard of on KZread back in 2005(ish) and I just thought it was the funniest thing ever. Then, about 12 years later, my girlfriend showed me Drawfee and her "selling point" was the fact that Drawfee was a part of College Humor, and it got me to watch that first video of silly people making silly drawings. Since watching that video I've been inspired by you guys to dabble in my own drawings even though they're just absolutely awful. But they're fun and they bring me joy, which is what making any kind of art is all about. I love you guys, and can't be happier to hear that you're going to keep moving forward with the channel in whatever manner possible. I'm sure that all of us really appreciate it. I know I do.
