    My understanding was that the PBA was going to test and remove urethane balls that were too soft but didn't do it at the last moment because they couldn't get the instrument calibrated and testing conditions correct to produce reliable results (which, I recall, has been a recurring issue). So it wasn't just urethane. It was, at least in the view of some, a last minute rules change due to the PBA's lack of preparation that potentially allowed those balls to be untested and remain in the tournament.

    “Couldn’t get the instruments calibrated and testing conditions correct to produce reliable results”.. This doesn’t mean what you think it means sir. It means they are literally TRYING to reproduce the conditions to reproduce the THEORY of what it’s believed urethane balls do to oil on the lane... AND THEY CANNOT DO IT in a CONTROLLED setting. It is more likely it is not happening at all, or so little that it’s difficult to intentionally reproduce.

    I think Rash is a baby, but I am with him on a lot of the problems of the modern PBA.. The lane conditions and ball manufacturers have destroyed the game. Honor scores are not even honorable anymore. My mens leagues sees on average 2 dozen 300's and like at least 6 800's every year and our league is terrible. If it is walled house shots with 2 handed hucker throwing strong equipment that cant miss, its the PBA and its circus show just trying to ruin the sport for entertainment, rather than maintaining the integrity of the sport. The PBA and bowling in general is a joke.

Its mainly the proprietors are the problem like they're too weak to operate, some would bail out their free fall pinsetters for strings and also cares more about Bowling center cosmetic looks than the actual gameplay. I believe Bowling had been more and more corrupted in America as well as Europe. Meanwhile here in Asia like my home country the Philippines that Bowling was in good shape because majority of Bowling centers are standard and not a casual dumping ground, none of them were closing easily both before and during the Pandemic and as well as Bowlers respected each other like no old people were complaining about Modern Game, Synthetic Lanes, 2 Handers or unusual Bowling styles, not even complaining about wrist braces too. I have nothing against two handers. Actually, I think they’re much more athletic and are very interesting to watch. However, they are not playing the same game. Having said that, if the PBA were to ban two handed bowling, it and probably the entire bowling industry would die. So many young guys have adopted that style and it’s here to stay. There are many excellent coaches in now teaching it with the final product looking more and more polished, perfecting the two-handed style. I Remember the same things being said about the early crankers that emerged after the advent of Mark Roth. I wish I was young enough to attempt to throw the ball two handed; but I also enjoy the challenge of getting power on the ball with a clean thumb release and good timing. Some of the spine twisting that I see in the two handed style makes me wonder What the career longevity Will ultimately be for the two handed player.

  • @JonHop1

    @JonHop1

    @@nukiepoo LOL PBA would be just fine without 2-handed bowling. 2-handed bowling is honestly an unfair advantage. It is literally impossible to achieve the same rev rate and speed 1-handed. So 2-handers, on top of having the rev and speed advantage, have much more room for error. For example go back to the Players Championship Belmo won back in like 2017-2018(around then) and watch Belmo.. He never throws 1 good shot, yet carries every single shot light. 1-Handers cannot and will not ever be able to do this. Belmo had zero accuracy yet still won and dominated.

  • @gocardinals1985

    @gocardinals1985

    Modified granny style takes the integrity out of the game, it takes far less skill, accuracy, and strength to bowl like that. In league I see 2 handers getting up to 18 boards of mistake room and that is an integrity issue because that is just put the ball right of head pin you will strike everytime level. So essentially it is like one group playing the traditional golf and having them compete with the group playing the new lacrosse like game of golf. I would also love to see the PBA ban the use of wristbands as that is a delivery aide and anything that is used as an aide of a natural delivery is not a natural delivery. Sorry Mike Scroggins.

    the problem is, players dont have equal access... And some urethane is WAY better than others(Purple Hammer). Which is why they banned the old purple hammer. Also, urethane destroys the whole premise of modern bowling with modern equipment and lane patterns as it totally destroys the pattern. So players playing more traditionally, become screwed. @@KahKiatTan Bro there is a reason no one uses plastic balls. Its because they dont work and have no movement, whereas Urethan has the double threat of both destroying the lane oil and pattern, as well as moving similar to a reactive ball. And again, Urethane only really truly benefits 2-handers. The whole 2-handed thing is a whole other discussion as it is a significant advantage over 1-handed bowlers. This is why we see people purposefully using Urethan to destroy the lane which just causes things to become a mess.

    I know ppl that use that ball when they are very mow average and think its ball to learn how to bowl lol. Then i know whole team only uses tjat type of ball and only highest average is a 120 lol. Makes hard bowl against these type of ppl that dont know how use that type of ball or has speed revs for it

    He was honestly complaining the whole time. And he has been complaining about Urethane, the ball manufacturers, and 2-handed bowling for a while now. And I have to say, I agree with him on a lot of it. Bowling has become a joke now and is being destroyed by ball manufacturers.

    Professionals over come conditions and don’t use the type of ball an opponent is using as an excuse. Anybody can do well in ideal conditions. Great players thrive in difficult ones. I find these urethane ball excuses shallow. You are your biggest opponent, not the type of ball another bowler is using. I don’t The pba is not going to restrict urethane. Think about the factories and jobs. These are one of the few remaining pure USA industries left. The consequences are farther reaching than people may realize. I can’t believe not one player moved right and straightened the shot out here. It was hard to get carry even with well thrown balls with the angels these guys were playing.

    Just when you think their hard breaks are causing them a bad day, you see the score and realize they're still well over 200. And btw, where's the conduct that cause a guy to get fined and suspended? I was expecting to see a 7 min video of someone acting like a jackass.

You may not be smart enough to know what he did was for everyone...

    Sean Rash should be suspended for this statement about urethane bowlingballs, because these bowlingballs have been around since before he was born and learn like the rest of us how to adjust and leave the profane language off the air. Sean Rash you are indeed a talented bowler, but your arrogance will defeat your career if not corraled!

    I like Sean Rash. He is one of the few PBA bowlers who doesn't really have that "modern release" where they bend the elbow and flip their wrist. Yeah, he is a hot head but I rather see him than any "two handed" bowler. PBA bowling has become a joke. The balls never should've been made stronger. It seems bowlers no longer make moves on the approach and lanes. The 150 average bowler just gets out one of his 12 balls from his bag.
