Some were saying the end dragon was difficult but with my maxed out warrior and sorcerer with the two big spells and two other pawns maxed at 45 I think, the dragon took less than 5 minutes lol barely had to do anything with my sorcerer lol

While I really like the sorcerer maester spells (also Maelstrom) it is a bit boring for efficiency because obviously it just outdps all other spells making the other spells be a waste of time on bosses. You can easily see other "high level" spell like the blizzard performing at the start. Basically everything other than maester spell becomes not worth it dps-wise.

You arent, firstly you can buy them back at the scrap store. Secondly they will respawn on NG+. Thirdly, you only need 3 books to get the spells.

All his pawns are casting Meteoron, which is why he moved to join them. Spell incantation speed increases if multiple users are incanting it in close proximity to each other.

Stand completely out of danger, press button, repeat 2-3 times and its dead. Not fucked in the slightest. I killed the final dragon with just 1 sorc (me) for the achieve - in 2 spells, it didn't even get to another phase, it literally died in the spot it started. That fight is trivial, it's kind of sad honestly :( I will say though, Sorcerer is boring AF.

Aren't these dragons highly resistant to fire damage though? In DD1, if you cast a master level spell against something resistant to it, it will do barely any damage, e.g. using High Maelstrom on a zombie will do practically nothing to it because they're resistant to dark.

Fewer spells and skill slots results in less variation, and the addition of quickspell led to them nerfing spell damage so it takes more casts to accomplish anything. These two factors combined means that Sorcerer gameplay *is* simply standing out of danger and spamming the same spell. Part of that is also the lack of true AOE spells, meaning most encounters are handeled best by quickspelling High Levin on repeat. It's just kind of sad. To say it doesn't deal damage would be incorrect, you can get somewhat respectable damage out of Flare + Levin and sometimes Meteoron, to say its damage is heavily underwhelming compared to many other classes is an understatement. Magick Archer, Thief, Mystic Spearhand, Warfarer, etc. can all deal more damage in a shorter span of time than Sorcerer.

@@DankMemes-xq2xm Yes, they're resistant to fire. Meteoron deals a mixture of physical and fire damage - physical from the meteor impact and fire from the following explosion. Roughly 25% of its overall damage is physical (5 action rate vs 15 from the explosion). It's a very poor spell against drakes not necessarily because it deals primarily fire damage, but because the physical aspect cannot hit the weak spot. Though, even knowing that, taking 8 casts of it to kill a drake still makes it feel impotent. As a whole the spell isn't very good. The long cast time makes it easy to interrupt, it drops 5 meteors in an inconsistent area, and the damage from each individual meteor is not very impressive. Those last two bits combine for it to not deal a consistent amount of damage, as it just doesn't like to land on the enemy itself and that's even under the assumption it doesn't get blocked by trees, rocks, or general terrain (which happens quite often at the angle it comes in). Meteoron's best application is actually clearing trash mobs once you have cast speed increasing rings (such as dual Rings of Recitation), while the best single-target damage for Sorcerer is *always* Flare + Levin/Flagration(Flagration can stack faster, but often gets you killed given its low range), regardless of elemental weakness or resistance. This of course results in Sorcerer having near 0 depth to their gameplay, even compared to just your own Maelstrom example.
