Dragonman Covers WWI - Did You Know This About History?

Stopped by my dads today to go over some highlights from World War 1. The amount that he covered is really just a small percentage, as there's so much more to see and learn about. As always, it's imperative that we preserve and teach history so that it doesn't repeat itself. Hope you enjoy this video!

I gave my artillery shells to the Taos Jr high history program got to go see Mel . I was an infantry officer in VN and love classic cars but i'm a pre war Packard man. I'll pop by for a visit next month. Cheers -

    My Grandad was a veteran in WW1 he was wonded before the battle of Aregon I was told. He shook hands with Sargent York the day after he captured all the Germans. When my Grandad was making it back to the lines after he got wonded he picked up a German canteen for the water and donated it to the Honds muslim in his home toun Jetmore Kansas. My Grandad had a hole in his arm from scrap metal and when he was 81 year's old my Grandma was still talking scrap metal out of his neck. He would take me fishing on his land and tell me about the War he was in. I live on that land today in Hogemen County Kansas ( Jetmore) thanks so much for your time.🇺🇲

    People were not smaller and skinnier in WW1. They were the same as people are now. Maybe not overweight but the issue here is people are going by the available uniforms and then drawing false conclusions. Over the last 100 years collectors have bought uniforms that typically fit them and then sell the uniforms that don't fit them. So the uniforms that have become available on the markets for the last 50 years are small uniforms. You can't draw these types of conclusions and I see this all the time in just about every collectible market whether it's military or otherwise. It's a fallacy. We haven't changed. We are the same as we have always been. My grandfather and his brother both fought in WW1 and they were both 6'6" tall. My greatgrandfather was 6'6" tall. I'm 6 ft, and I'm the smallest in my family.

  • @AvaFlanell

    @AvaFlanell

    They were shorter by a few inches. That's listed all over the internet. Just because your family was tall doesn't mean everyone was. Also, there's hundreds of uniforms in the museum and they're all small. I don't think that's a coincidence. Men were less obese than they are today.
