Dragonite vs. Tyranitar - Which pseudo-legendary is FASTER?
Playthrough Rules:
1. Only my starter in battle
2. No items in battle (except held items)
3. No glitches or exploits*
4. No Double-Team TM before level 100*
Other rules:
-- My Pokemon have perfect genetics to ensure fair comparison between species.
-- *Pokeballs & Pokedolls are allowed in battle
-- *The badge-boost glitch is not restricted at all
-- *Skipping the Rocket Hideout & Marowak is allowed
-- I play the game at 4x game speed (238 frames per second)
-- My Pokemon has perfect DVs
-- The bike is allowed
-- Skipping the bike is not allowed
-- Saving between league members is allowed
-- If the solo Pokemon faints and I choose to blackout it counts towards my reset counter
-- I can pause the game & timer to take breaks
-- The footage is sped up / slowed down to match the pace of my narration
*Double-Team:
-- Almost every Pokemon can learn Double-Team through TM
-- The TM can be purchased in Celadon
-- Using it would centralize the meta
-- Every Pokemon would use it to overcome tough battles at lower levels
-- It raises evasion
-- It triggers the badge boost
-- Banning the TM allows Pokemon who learn it through level up to use it
-- I believe evasion is part of Pokemon and shouldn't be banned entirely
-- I don't want the videos to all be double-team spam though, that's not fun or entertaining
Terms:
-- STAB
-- Same-Type-Attack-Bonus - a 1.5x damage multiplier
-- Stat Experience
-- The Gen1&2 equivalent of effort values. You can invest in all stats until they max
out at 65535
-- DVs or Determinate Values
-- The Gen1&2 equivalent of IVs (individual values), these range from 0-15

Wing Attack is what Dragonite would learn as he evolves from Dragonair at lvl 55 and grows wings, so that does kinda make sense haha
I feel like Salamence vs Metagross in Emerald would be a perfect successor to this video
Dragonite learns Wing Attack so late because, if it were leveling up normally from Dratini, it wouldn't've had wings yet.
That first run with Tyranitar would face much fewer issues if it's attack IVs weren't as cut by HP Flying
4x effective STAB Dynamic Punch has an effective power of 600, and Tyranitar still survived 0_0
i like how in the title card tyranitar's all "ARRGAGFDTAG I AM GODZILLA AND I WILL DESTROY YOUR CITY" and dragonite's just like "o hey there :)"
T-tars Gen 2 backsprite looks so sick, it already has the edge over the goofy plump dragon design-wise.
Dragonite learns Wing Attack so late at level 55 because that's when Dragonair would evolve and get wings.

Man you really are getting these runs optimized... From Falkner, down the route south of violet city, through union cave, and completing the slowpoke well scenario, beating every trainer on the way and reaching a trainer in azalea gym in a little over 4 minutes is insane.
The VS videos are my favorites, appreciate you doing them even though you said they were more work.

I really like how they slightly altered Tyranitar's design so it looks more like a rocky dinosaur monster than an angry piece of wall insulation.
Cool to see both Psuedos get to be in the Ho-Oh/Lugia tier. You mentioned how you felt like keeping Crunch for Espeon would be dead weight, but I think there’s a solution to that. Replace Return with Crunch since it’s relearnable. While it seems bad to lose that before Karen since Return’s not 1-shotting Umbreon, Rock Slide can flinch it. If you want to avoid turn 1 Sand Attack, replacing Hidden Power Flying with Detect can solve that issue.
