Dragon Staff Tutorial - Forearm Roll

This is a beginner level dragonstaff tutorial on how to do a forearm roll. I find that this move is very important to learn near the beginning of one's dragonstaff journey to help tie together other moves.

Hey Daniel, this is such a great video, thank you. At the moment, I am learning how to pivot the staff on the back of my hand. Its still just wanting to roll straight off. Do you have any tips with how to pivot it on the back of the hand please? Thanks 🙏🏼

I have struggled to articulate that part. I think that by having the staff roll down the arm slanted from elbow to wrist it naturally wants to pivot at the wrist. Try keeping the elbow bent and the wrist bent downwards to encourage the staff to take the path back up the inner forearm

I'm a little confused on how you are moving your wrist/ hand to get the staff to turn around. Do you have any advice for that?

Its tough to articulate that part. It happens somewhat naturally from the staff rolling along along the forearm in an oval shape. I think that raising/lowering the arm with the move helps too. Ill pick up the dragon when i get home and see if i can find a more helpful way of explaining that part.
