    A thought, we are told through out the game that people use too fallow the old religion of the elemental gods before the faith came around. What if this is literal? Maybe someone killed the old gods and took their world and powers but this left the world scared because the new god can't totally control all the aspects of the old gods power. The monsters of the old religion are manifestations of this imbalance or remnents from the old gods the new one can't control. More importantly Maybe pawns aren't just made from past Arisin, maybe pawns are the lost souls of people who worshiped the old gods. Once under their care when the old gods died these souls lost their direction, their meaning, and had no afterlife, doomed to wonder in the void left behind. This new God unable to fix these issues instead creates the cycle the endless Chain to temper and forge another more worthy mortal into an Arisen who can take their place. Additional this god saves the souls of the lost by letting Arisin reform them into pawns who are literately retaught how to be human. Every Arisin who fails either becomes an immortal in the world that guids and shapes the world in some way that may help the next Arisn while Others become the dragon that challenges and test the Arisn untill the day that one is worthy enough to atone for the mistakes of his/her predecessors. In conclusion maybe the true story of Dragons Dogma is not that there isn't any free will or choice, its that there was free will at one time and it lead to such an overwhelming disaster that god over corrected by seemingly taking it all away. The choice you have in the game is deciding weather the world is fixed enough to be free again or if it still needs work. Thoughts???

    Corrupted pawns killed in BBI don't return to the rift, they remain corpses and are eaten by the necrophages of the island.

    Being that the will of the Seneschal runs the world, It could be said that the Pawn of the Arisen is represents the growing potential power of the Arisen. For now their will manifests a single Pawn but later on the Arisen's Will as Seneschal will shine through all beings. The fact that Pawns can become Human, too makes this point aswell as also becoming Arisen after once being Pawns.

    How does any person fall in love with any person? Spend enough time like the person underneath and you fall in love. I'm sure there are some arisen that ended up hating their pawns too. Those just aren't as exciting to write about ;P

    I mean, lots of people, not me, love their virtual girlfriends too even though they're not technically human. For some people, not me, coming home to a busty schoolgirl on their screen who does everything you say and only exists to serve you is a more passionate love than with any real woman. Not me though. Definitely.

    I think that it’s rather easy to fall in love with a pawn. They’re your companion for the entirety of your journey unless they pass along the way. They are always on your side, every single one of their actions is for the sake of your well being and your quest to slay the dragon. Spending time with someone for that long is bound to create some kind of romantic relationship.

    I don’t know how I would feel about a romantic relationship with a pawn, though. They have no other choice than to obey and they will not disagree with you. You are the pawns entire purpose. without you there for them, they are nothing.

    It is, very deep. Highly customizable, and traits such as height, weight, muscularity actually impacts gameplay. The armor system in this game is also really deep, and offers many armor pieces, layers for each vocation etc, combine that with the vocation system and you have epic character creation! ;)

    I think that a pawn was an arisen at some point who fought the senechal and won...you know the rest they get bored they kill themselves with the god's bane blade and after that their pawn gains a will of it's own while they get transported to the rift to be summoned as pawn, it's a full cycle.

    I don't think a Schenesal can kill himself with the Godsbane. From the first playthrough, the Godsbane is pulled out of the Schenesal's chest implying that he tried stabbing himself with it at some point. How can the (you) stab yourself and die when you pick the option after killing the schenesal if the schenesal cant kill himself with the godsbane? Simple, You're technically not the schenesal yet since you haven't claimed the throne. You're still the Arisen and in front of you is an empty seat. I recall that the Godsbane can only kill "God" if it's wielded by an Arisen who passed the trial. Killing yourself with the godsbane without taking the throne basically makes the seat left empty without anyone to claim it.

    What about the fact that arisen don't have hearts?

  • @Notallowed101

    @Notallowed101

    2 жыл бұрын

    They do have hearts right, but they are stolen by the Dragon. When climbing the back of the Dragon he tells you to reclaim what is yours. The dragon itself represents what a dragon has always represented in mythology, the true goal. Really there is no dragon per se but instead a call to action which steals someone heart and causes them to push themselves to achieve more than anyone else. The Dragon itself is made from the last Arisen to fall second to the Seneschal making the dragon literally "The Last GREAT Person to Fail" Your heart is never stolen physically right? It's just stolen by some desire or purpose. In this this case the Dragon has stolen the Arisen's heart, but we same the same phrase to a loved one dont we, "You've stolen my heart". Then consider the affinity system present in the game and how the Dragon also steals your beloved. The suggestion here is that great people who's hearts are stolen by both Dragon (Greater Things) and Humans (Love) will have the toughest of all choices, one the King himself failed to work out.
