Jackie Chan and John Cusack were good, but Adrien Brody was the MVP. He's a really good actor.

This film is fantastic. It has to be seen in a movie theater to be fully appreciated. The plot, based on historical events is well written with twists and carries powerful and poignant message. Outstanding cinematography, mesmerising music score, suspenseful, skilfully choreographed battle scenes and the cast is excellent. Jackie's powerful performance showcases his wide range of acting abilities. At the beginning he entertains us with martial arts and comedy but as the story unfolds, his role becomes dramatic and Jackie makes the transition with subtlety. Once again he proves that he is not just an action star, but also a very fine, accomplished drama actor. John Cusack rates high and Adrian Brody impresses with his portrayal of Tibeirus, a sadistic and corrupt Roman Emperor.

Giulia D.Stewart I am surprised to see such an eloquently written review. I was all for giving the movie up as a bad job, but you had me at 'cinematography'. But it also slightly reads like an advert.

Love that Joan Cusack cameo!

The combat scenes were very impressive and had a sense of realism rarely seen. I liked this movie.

I am interested in seeing Choi Siwon's performance in a block buster. His latest SuperJunior Song, Mamacita is off the chain. Love the "role" he plays in the video. I think he is going to be badass with Jackie Chan. He plays his side kick. Fighting Choi Siwon!!

John Cussack can't be taken serious in this role.

I just watched this today and found it to be very good. There's a few creative things i disagree with in the beginning, like how the Roman general's and kid's backstory were shown. One scene was great, just slightly misplaced, and the other could've used a bit more elaboration. Other than that, i put this on close par with Last of the Mohicans and Braveheart.

Adrien Brody and John Cusack both come a long way since their roles in the 1998 production the Thin Red Line.

Action movie, very good movie if you don't expect much. It's not an Oscar worthy script or anything, it's just a fun, action movie. I hate how people complain, it's a Jackie Chan movie come on! The fight scenes were very very well put together. Who could imagine John Cusack and Adrien Brody kicking so much ass!

this is going to be my new favorite jackie chan movie ever since i seen jackie chan the legend of the drunken master.

Just finished this movie on HBO max and gotta admit the action Choreography was superb! We already know Jackie Chans got it down, but for John Cusack and Adrien Brody also had it in them! I was very impressed! Overall it doesn't completely follow the true story but what do you expect? Its "Hollywooded up" lol. Overall enjoyable movie. Deserves a chance for whomever hasn't seen it.

John Cusack is in fact a highly trained martial artist. I´m not joking, he trained Kickboxing for many years with Benny "The Jet" Urquidez", who is a legendary full-contact Kickboxing world champion & stunt man. Benny is also the guy who fights Jackie in "Wheels for Meals" and "Dragons Forever".

Love the actors... Watching it 😊

United is the best title for this empresive Movie

Honestly, I don't know why but I've watched the movie many times. Maybe I just like the fighting. There are many things wrong with the movie but the realistic fighting touch something in me compared to CGI. The fight was also so fast that requires rewatch. There is this guy in the movie that protects Publius. Someone forgot to tell him that this Jackie Chan movie is the "serious" kind. He played it as if it was a Walt Disney or a comedy. The boy is really annoying when he cries, however, my mother said that is the most realistic crying that she has seen on film. John Cusack understands "less is more". But the fight scene should have been longer. The faults are really the "international school" students , who are not actors. Their skin are too white and their legs are too white. They probably have never acted in their life. But that is typical of Chinese movies. Siwon did a great job and I liked the fact that he isn't in the movie for more than 5 minutes. I don't believe pop star should be actors. A few minutes and immediately killed is alright. The most interesting things I find about this movie is the cast and their interactions between them both on and off screen. I've never seen Adrien and John open up like this. With Jackie Chan, they are always smiling and laughing. In US interviews, these two actors are usually very serious. One also realize how legendary Jackie is relative to other movie stars. He is just the MAN! On most interviews of "Dragon Blade", they talk about the experience of working with Jackie more than the movie! In an interview, John would tell us that most hollywood movies are green screen + pretence. But with Jackie the desert, horses, and fighting are real. And if you think about a movie like "2012", it's true! Adrien Brody got the HuaDing award for best supporting actor. He deserve it because he understood that Chinese people didn't mind a bit of over-acting. It was nice to see a great actor do that for us. The CGi background to touch up the desert was completely not needed , in my opinion. There is a "wrap around" in this movie that talks about the archeological dig which I found annoying. Since I know one of those actors is a singer that always appear in expensive movies not due to his talents but more of connection. I wish they could just cut that part out. It served no purpose. Jackie Chan is just Jackie Chan. The legend that he is! Anything he does is cool.
