I always loved this theme as a child… I never knew what it was called and to listen to it here in such a stunning capacity is truly a privilege

One of the most underrated show themes. Gokus speech to Frieza was so hardcore and truly while Kai and Manga have what they have.....the Funimation Dub is still the 👑.

Absolutely brilliant. I never thought I'd see the day someone would actually attempt to remake the Guru theme. The heroic theme is a wonderful surprise too! The clash with Frieza was just legendary. These themes perfectly represented everything Goku stood for. Then you had the darker themes for the mighty Tyrant himself in contrast.

Amazing! One of my favourite versions of Heroic Trunks theme was when a version of it played during Goku's sacrifice. Another underrated version was during the scene where Mr Satan asks Goku if Buu is dead after the final spirit bomb. A soft and beautiful melody. I hope to hear your version of these tracks, Gladius. Thank you for these music recreations, they evoke memories of my childhood loving this amazing show.

When I was a little kid growing up and watching the fight on VHS, I ALWAYS loved this tune that played whenever Goku would emerge from the smoke completely unscathed. Everytime I hear the song now it gives me strength and a desire to just be that...unbreakable. I love this rendition.

Really interesting to hear these undocumented tracks from the Namek era, like the Frieza one you did. I also find it funny how Goku is one of the characters without real themes of his own. Something which shows when you did the track for Vegito and could only really seed in the SSJ Transformation theme to represent Goku. Meanwhile, Vegeta has themes for everything he does, lol I guess the title theme works for Goku sometimes too. Which, btw, mad late props for doing that one. All we ever hear covered is Chala (not that I wouldn't adore one from you, love it) or Rock the Dragon or that weird Menza movie theme that crops up. It really doesn't help that the OST just calls it "Dragonball Z". Thanks guys, that really narrows it down... "Prelude to Conflict" is as identifying as it ever got. Shame too, because it really is a great theme, and I got mad goosebumps hearing your cover... even if the TV static sound effect isn't my favorite thing at the start and end...

I gotta say I wasn’t expecting to see a “guru’s” theme remake but I love to see it. It was one of my favourites in the show and it’s cool to see you remake it especially as one of the lesser known/appreciated tracks. I may be wrong but I remember either Scott or mike saying somewhere that this was meant to be “Goku’s theme” or it was at least seen that way but for some reason it was released on the CD as Guru’s theme which would line up with some of the other oddly named tracks. Maybe someone can fact check me there. On a side note would be cool to see more of the production/how you made the track vids like the Pikon one although I understand they probably take more effort and time to record edit while also sadly not drawing in as many views in comparison to your other vids. Either way keep up the good stuff man. 👍

I think it's called "Guru's Theme" because the first time it's used is when Guru is telling Frieza that he would be the one trembling in fear if he fought Nail. Still it's a weird name.

@@RakeemsReMakes Yeah I remember that scene because that’s the episode with the weird replacement score and remembered the guru theme being in that scene as a kid and rewatching the blu rays being confused why it wasn’t there. Didn’t remember that was the first time it was used though so that makes sense. I always associated the unreleased “peaceful namek” theme as a guru theme for me.

Would you like just the music that plays during Vegeta's death, or do you want the scene in which Vegeta dies and Goku buries his corpse so you can hear that part of my music suggestion as well? If you want to hear the music used when Goku buries Vegeta's body, it'll have to be the scene itself, since a decent-sounding version of that particular piece on its own has alluded me for decades lol. I can provide you Vegeta's death track by itself no problem though.

Do you know who they hired for that though? Broadly speaking, the only Westerners JP directors would directly hire for an anime project are the ones that are least likely to have anything to do with the DB franchise (Evan Call, Kevin Penkin, Rasmus Faber, etc). No offense, just saying because I feel there's a _lot_ being ignored whenever statements like this are made in general (even if this one might be a throwaway statement).

I’m with you! Wonderfully written comment! Goku is heroic whether people say he is or not- he can be someone who loves fighting and pushing himself, as well as someone who does right by his friends, family and those who can’t fight for themselves. That said, I love that he never considers himself a hero, he’s not self-righteous. He’s just… Goku :) That second to last episode of DB Super where Jiren attacks the stands and Goku is like “I ain’t no hero of justice or anything else like that, but anyone who tries to hurt my friends… IS GONNA PAY!!!” Damn… Such a powerful moment for Goku, he may not think he’s heroic but we the audience have always known that ☺️ Thank you very much my friend!!!

Hey uh, gladius, could you rescore the English dbz Kai version of this scene to this score? I know his Kai “I am” speech isn’t as heroic, but I think it would still fit really well.

Na, they're just part of the same original key (Eb minor) and that's how the track played out the first time.

It’s very close! My guess is this theme was written before Heroic Trunks since I’m pretty sure they were writing chronologically, it almost sounds like it’s about to go there but then restrains itself.

Must be Mandela effect because I remember gurus theme playing when goku arrived to face Frieza. I honestly thought it was gokus theme lol

No you’re right I think! It definitely becomes part of the theme of that entire fight :) It may as well be Goku’s theme, at least for Namek

Guru has been one of my favorite more obscure characters for a long time, but only the actual eldest namek one for me and not so much 'super kami guru'. That version just never appealed to me, the eldest namek one was way better imo.
