Dragon Ball Sparking Zero: Which Game Should It Play Like - Tenkaichi 3 Or Raging Blast 2

Taking a look at dragon ball sparking zero gameplay, I wanted to ask should the game play like budokai tenkaichi 3 or more like raging blast 2? Its a conversation I dont think many have contributed to. I mention in the video while going over sparking zero gameplay that I believe its taken from both games. Dragon ball sparking zero will be an evolution of both games in my opinion.

yeah fr no one talks about this but when goku gets hit by vegetas volley blast its the same animation ripped from raging blast

@@vaultboy5492ya it’s stiff. Also the laggy character frames when kaioken hits vegeta to emphasise “strength” looks dumb, looks like jumpforce. They should’ve put slow motion like tekken.

I think it needs a combination of both, and that seems to be what Spike is going for Tenkaichi 3's combo system and speed, with Raging Blast 2's Super and Ultimate attacks, plus signature skils. Id also love a system like Raging Soul to make a comeback They're bringing back the beam deflects from Raging Blast, so i think its safe to assume they're going to combine the best elements of both games
I just want one bar for everything like in raging blast 2 I don’t want to wait 30 seconds to transform, then wait even longer to use “now I’m mad”

It should play like RB2 but it will play like BT3 My favorite thing about RB2 was to have only one version of the characters with full transformations. And to balance that, every single character had multiple moves and movelists that could be customized. No two Gokus were the same when experienced players fought each other and that was so freaking awesome.

It should be more like 98% bt3 and then raging blast is 2%. I honestly don’t want a 50 50 mixture then what’s the point of this being a sequel. Make it a true successor and don’t make tit Oo much like raging blast. I pray the movement feels nothing like raging blast
My brother and I haven’t played these games in years, so I would appreciate if Sparking! Zero were more beginner friendly. We’ll need time to figure everything out again.

Yeah a practice mode would be good maybe even with combo challenges to learn the basics for the characters
I would love for sparking zero to keep the combo cancels and special move each character had for it. Then add all the speed and stuff from bt3
Great video! Also when it comes to speed, the comparasions show that Sparking Zero is actually faster than Tenkaichi 3 when it comes to that Vegeta combo at the start of the trailer.
I would prefer if it plays more like bt3 then rb2, but like you said, it's like they already found the middle ground, all I would hope they would add is a bit of RB2's uniqueness like the combo moves like when Goku dies but had krillan on the team etc, maybe even add their own versions of Dramatic finishes(Sparking Finish), I would definitely like it if the deflections needed more skill or required the opponent to have the same amount of ki that was used to fire the beam, like if it needed 3 bars, the opponent would need 3 bars to deflect it, sounds fair but if it's an ult, they would need max power or just make it so that ults cannot be reflected. Regardless they were cooking so far with the combat.
I got a discussion nobody has talked about yet. Should Sparking Zero add simultaneous 2v2 , 3v3 or just more than 2 fighters battling at once like Xenoverse and Kakarot?
I want to be able to dodge and weave punches and kicks to. It's been a long time since we've had that mechanic!
Also Makai I wanted to mention the group combo thing in RB2 is actually a great idea it was actually brilliant and I’ll tell you why it would be fire for a game like this because with the technology of modern consoles and the power of UE5 you could break the characters play styles down to even smaller groups like groups of 10 or even 5s and then go back over them with another coat of paint to add uniqueness to each character cause think about it it’s allegedly 164 characters having 5 to 10 groups of different play styles would be crazy in a game with that many characters I actually thought about this years ago while playing RB2 think about it bro that’s a lot of play styles to figure out 😂
Sparking Zero would be the perfect game if it had the combo cancels and signature moves of Raging Blast 2, and the movement tech of Tenkaichi 2/3. The movement is drastically different from what we’ve seen so far in trailers but Literally would be a perfect game if we had that mix
Another thing I think Sparking Zero should implement is 5:24 onwards where Kid Buu teleports . You can do this freely in Xenoverse 2 and Kakarot, but I feel like it adds more defensive and offensive capabilities, while increasing the speed of the game. BT3 and Raging Blast 2 only allowed you to do this at Full Power / Raging Soul
I think it should have both raging blast 2 had stuff that improved on Tenkaichi and Tenkaichi has stuff that is much better then raging blast 2 I really think they should mix both
Im just glad they're bringing back the blast deflection from raging blast and it'd be awesome if they could bring back raging soul mechanic imagine playing as ui goku and getting the ui theme music while doing raging soul combo's.

raging soul is the one thing if we get it back it would make this top tier dragon ball game
If ima be honest I think they should’ve take majority of the inspiration from BT3 they already tried the simplified newbies friendly route that was why we got raging blast and look how that did I was never a fan of it and how the gameplay felt compared to tenkaichi 3. And I actually think it’d funny cause realistically tenkaichi 3 I’d say of all the games is the most balanced tenkaichi 1 was just finding its footing but tenkaichi 2 I’m not gonna lie in terms of complexity and mastery is definitely the hardest to master especially at a high competitive level . There literal guides showing how you can move cancel and do a hunch of crazy jankcy stuff . While they removed a lot of that from tenkaichi 3 to make it easier but added new stufff to balance that out. But tenkaichi 3 still also has a high skill ceiling. If they do choose to simplify it I think they should only tweak some mechanic form tenkaichi 3 to make it easier like the vanish mechanic is brutal in tenkaichi it’s something I’ve always struggled with even now that I’m older make the timing not as hard. Stuff like that that or just give us a lengthy and good tutorial cause the old ones weren’t the best. I definitely don’t want them to go the route they did with raging blast cause if they do then this game is gonna fail .
Both. I've played both games extensively and I can't decide which game is better.

bt 3 has 3 angles of high mid low, raging blast 2 has 1 mid
Think the only thing that should be different is making the ability to transform and use abilities like raging blast

7:22 Thats what im saying too. Theyre probably gonna use a bit of both Games. With some brandnew mechanics implemented here and there.

Raging blast has amazing animations and some string attacks they they can take and ultimate tenkaichi has stages, transformation animations ect that they can take
NO BRAINER. Tenkaichi almost all the way (ofcourse it’s not a perfect game). Compared to rb2, speed of movement and combat, better exploits to combos and dragon dash flanking, can’t use walls to or own character to bounce enemies, ki poking, etc.. (just look at pro gameplay for tenkaichi, huge differences don’t watch some random people). Not limited or held back for simplicity, just so casuals can play for a month and leave it on shelf to collect dust! These new “fans” are ruining games just because they make business more money. Take only few from rb2 then leave rest to bt3 please!

I say take the best features from both games defensive and offensive and all the newer mechanics on top of that for example I like the manual swaying from RB2 and Burst Limit better than the sonic swaying from BT3 but I love BT3s combo and pursuit speed and people were lying when they said BT3 doesn’t have any counters that’s a lie because I remember if u held I think it was O on PS2 when a person tries to start a combo it would counter attack and send them flying backwards a short distance the difference is in RB2 they changed them to Cutscene counters which I loved both also in BT3 if a person teleports a lot if u time when they teleport with the O button u could take they’re back to open them up for some combos Pause!!!.. 😂

A healthy balance of both in my opinion. I loved both BT3 and RB2. I simultaneously grew up on both of them. I owned RB2, so I had more playtime on that than I did on BT3. I was only ever able to play BT3 when I stayed the night at my friends house. Both games had their pros and cons, so a healthy balance of each games pro will make Sparking! ZERO perfect!

In rb2 theres 7 or 8 types of combo groups but theres also like 10 different cancel groups, which you didnt even mention. It was crucial to the fighting game. Combine different combo routes plus different cancels plus the signature skills and you hae the perfect variety of combos to pull off! I think the majority of people that do not enjoy RB2 is because they dont know how the game works. Trust me, whne you learn the game, it doesnt feel stiff or slow, AT ALL.

What about the Dodge Mechanic that BT3 had. I can't remember how it's activated but I know it's there I rewatched Some GT Vegeta story mode gameplay to reconfirm it's there after all these years of not playing it. I watched Vegeta do the sway dodging every strike in the same anime fashion Vegeta did in babidi's ship to pui pui. I think if I remember correctly raging blast has it as well but I don't think the sway is done the same in each game. This is a defensive mechanic not talked about much as neither Kakarot or Xenoverse has it either naturally. Xenoverse did add UI & MUI and what's that android 13 move called Data Input? Other than that the game has no natural sway that all characters can do. Except the Dodge in BT3 & RB is not the same as UI autonomous speed movements which Xenoverse and even fighter Z implemented. Also wanted to say SSJ 3 Vegeta did appear in another game before Raging Blast. It's called DBZ Dragon Battlers the game that existed as the first version of SDBH that we still have running to this day. However it's not commonly known since it's a Japan exclusive.

@@makaisaiyan yeah that mechanics I'm really curious about how The Budokai is going to do this. Wasn't it basically a timed parry essentially? Meaning you would go into the stance and if the opponent tries to melee you, the counter dodge would activate but if they used something else like a ki blast it would stop the sonic sway stance. What happens if someone tries to grab you while using the sonic sway two button command? Would the grab still be dodged or would it be a successful grab. Just trying to remember the mechanics and balance of this defensive technique. Re looking at videos I see that BT3 made the striker lose ki if their strikes are dodged from the sonic sway. Also I think it's interesting that The Raging soul mechanics was also revamped into something different in Xenoverse with the Z soul mechanism Zenkai mode or wte they call it. Something I myself rarely used. But I liked how activating the raging soul in raging blast changed the color of the sky something not common in Z games.
Raging Blast 1/2 graphics and gameplay are so good that even if the games were released today they would still look and feel much better than any other anime game. It is absolutely crazy that those two games were released about 15 YEARS ago. It is as if someone time traveled from 2020-2030 back to 2010. Bt3 is also a masterpiece and ahead of its time, but considering that Raging Blast games are their new gen upgrade with many amazing stuff.. it is no surprise that Raging Blast games are the best anime games ever. If Sparking Zero uses the best from Bt3 and Rb then it can surpass them 💯

I feel like you're asking the wrong question they're 100% going for a budokai tenkaichi gameplay a better question would be are they going to base it off of BT2 or BT3 because you would be surprised by how different they are in gameplay

More like Tenkaichi 3 as far as fast-paced game play. I played Raging Blast 2 briefly and my biggest complaint is the gameplay felt heavier, Or slower.
Is dragon ball famous for its fighting combos or the super attacks cause ppl b forgetting to do super attacks and keeps focusing on combo hits everyone remembers super moves from dragon ball like spirit bomb ect but no one remeber a combo move in the show
But the Moves on Raging Blast 2 are Better especially the countera like Ssj Vegito
raging blast is good, the net code is a lil bit more slower and boxy imo so the pacing of the gameplay can be a bit repetitive. i like tenkaichi 3s pace more, it goes well with what the anime does.

Nope it’s a skill issue, I never even beat the story in the game. I played BT3 only against my friend and against the various missions and it just became intuitive and I was nasty at that game
Budakai, 10 Khichi, 3 all day baby. Come on, we already know what it is. The attacks look kind of fake enraging blast. The motion looks more real in bt3 And no one can argue with that world's your blind The motion of fighting in bt three is way better in raging blast Looks like two plastic action figures fighting
