Yes! I love every moment of the song, because I see the battles. I am only disappointed it's fitting just first, 21th torunament, but they reused it later, instead of writing new lines. This would be amazing. If the 22th torunament had it's own version with Tenshinha, Chaozu and Tsuru Sennin.

such a dope part of the series, krillin overcomes his insecurity about his old jerko teammates, and the rest of them kickass to the final 8. easily one of the most inspirational parts of the show.

On top of that Master Roshi joined the tournament to make sure neither Goku nor Krillin won to keep them humble enough to keep training because there was always going to be someone stronger than them.

One of the best songs in the DB franchise, it gets you so hyped. Ah OG DB, back when martial arts was actually a thing and being stronger didn’t mean being invincible to them.

Skipping dragon ball and going straight to z is the biggest mistake anime fans make.

A timeless masterpiece

Back when actual martial arts was one of the main points of the series.

I spent YEARS trying to find this song, not knowing if it was on the original soundtrack or if it was created for the catalan dub almost 25 years ago. I finally found it and it's as awesome as I remember.

Imagine if this shit just popped the fuck up in the tounement of power? Maybe with a new verse detailing the tourney's contestants. Why not go all the way with the nostalgia trip toei?

oh man what nostalgic memories. i'm 27 years old and will never out grow my childhood addiction to dragon ball!!!!

You're 33. I'm almost 40. And I remember listening to the instrumental watching the original DB series. Great song.

This song and Wolf Hurricane are the two best insert songs for Dragon Ball.

Before Ultimate Battle, this was the epic insert song that played during climactic battles in tournaments

@Sockmonky145 and tenka-ichi means "first of the world" as for "best fighter of the world" in this case! Tenka by his own means "the whole world" (as a matter of fact it's written with the ideograms of ten=heaven and shita=down/low and it can be read as "everything that is under heaven/sky"

The Japanese culture is extremely gifted. Great anime. Great music. Great food. Great video games. Great ...well, you get the point.

I'm a Bruce Faulconer fan but even I have to admit this beats all of the Bruce F. music I've heard O_O it's like Flow Hero so hype.

I still don't understand why didnt they add this song to Dragon Ball FighterZ

This might be all wrong or over interpretation, but here is what I got from DB and the tournament arcs : The first tenkaichi is about finalising your learning. Which means surpassing your master who taught you all you know, doing things even he didn't teach you and would not be capable of. It's the first step of apprenticeship. Goku ultimately fails it because he's not ready and wise enough to surpass his master yet, but he 's on the good way. The second Tenkaichi is about confronting what you learned previously with you master against other students that learned things differently, confronting ideas and gaining wisdom from it. Here Goku has surpassed is master as well as Tien, which symbolised by Roshi giving up for the new generation. Even though Goku fails to win, he makes a friend at the end of this step which is the true meanining of it. The third Tenkaichi is about how being the best at something also implies that you should use your skill to bring good around you and to fight what is wrong. It's about being responsible and proving that all you learned made you a true hero. In this tournament Goku is now an adult, he had overcome his master in the previous Tenkaichi and beat Tien here to prove he's worthy of the two previous steps. However because the last one is the most important and the one you cannot fail as it is not about apprentice ship anymore but real life, Goku wins this time with the first shot, showing he can now be a master himself. I like this interpretation but of course it is one out of many other possible. And I might have explain it poorly as I'm French and also kinda tired at the moment I wrote this haha

Roshi needed to ensure goku and krillin didn't win so they didn't get complacent and would continue to grow as fighters and as people. Its why we get Roshi as our PoV character and not goku for the arc

Dragon Ball can be epic, sad, brutal, tragic, funny, lovely and sweet. Even if this isn't a deep story; even if there are more complex and better elaborated stories; this started as a gag manga, but there is something i can't explain that makes this so special, i don't know what it is but i call it the "Dragon Ball magic" the mystical of anime/manga. What a wonderfull series. I comment this because maybe someone could read this someday, and i want that person to know what the series means to me. Thank you Akira sensei, i really appreciate your work, it's been there since i have memory. Goodbye.

One of the best anime fights hands down

This song is sublime in is way but when you hear it with the scene where Sangoku fights Master Rochi (Jackie Chun) that’s perfection. 😮 This scene show too a time when Dragon Ball was about martial arts and simplicity. I love what happen next in Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super but is interesting sometimes when you just see people just fight with arms/foots and try hard just with that. 😊

Oh we have one of these assholes while I agree the OST of Dragon Ball in general is better in Japanese I don't think all around it is better in all the series Dragon Ball Z had one catered to its audience Faulconer whether YOU hate or not was meant for the English audience I like a lot of it and then there is some of it I don't like just like in the original Japanese version but if we are talking about super then its completely different Funimation isnt even trying to be different in a creative way and what they do change is unnecessary and shows they don't give a shit
