학창시절 개인적으로 너무 힘들 때 선생님의 그림을 따라 그리고 혼자 모작으로 만화를 끄적거리며 버텼습니다. 그때는 정말 죽고 싶었는데 그래도 내가 언젠가는 드래곤볼 팬픽 만화를 그리겠다는 원동력으로 살았습니다. 이제는 나이 서른이 되어서 먹고 살기가 바빠 당시의 각오도 지난 날의 객기로 치부한 채 덕질도 별로 하지 않았지만 그래도 꾸준히 드래곤볼은 언제나 제 마음 속 한켠에 저를 지탱해주는 뿌리로 남아 있었습니다. 이제 선생님이 떠나고서야 얼마나 선생님의 작품이 제게 큰 영향을 끼쳤고 또 실질적으로 제가 삶을 이어오는데 도움을 줬는지 진심으로 느끼고 있습니다. 언젠가 오공이 말했지요. 자신이 지상에 남아있어 계속 분란이 일어나는 것 같다며 저승의 삶을 즐기겠다고요. 저는 거기서 소년편에서 신의 후계자로 선정될 만큼, 거북선류의 제자인 만큼, 마치 신선과 같이 생사를 초월한 도인으로서의 오공을 느꼈습니다. 그 대사를 쓴 선생님도 이제는 그곳에서 편안히 즐기면서 지내시길 마음 깊이 바랍니다. 정말... 정말 감사합니다. GT 마지막 화가 그랬듯이, 선생님이 계셔서 즐거웠습니다.

Tearing up man. I didn't really like GT all that much but Dragonball was a major part of my childhood. My brother introduced me to the series when I was 4 and I've known it well ever since. 23yo now, and this damn theme still makes me wanna cry like a little kid.
