You forgot to mention that if you play as a city elf in Origins, the Alienage of Denerim gets it's own Bann with the player (alternatively, Cyrion, Shianni or Soris depending on whether the player dies or decides to pass on the title to Shianni) becoming the first Elf to ever hold a noble title in Ferelden.

That obligatory cussing, just coming out of nowhere, priceless.

@@TrueMastersandMorons it's ok this is not the first time this happened to me, being a lore nut as I am, it would happen sooner or later :) in fact I spoiled myself in the past on every fantasy game/show/movie/book I was ever into from too much research hehe. doesn't make it less enjoyable for me. and yes it certainly makes me pay attention to his every gesture and word more. and all of a sudden he's interesting :)

I really like these elves. Reminds me of my own Nation/Tribe. Conquered, but still here.

Dragon Age is the only RPG I've played where the Elves are portrayed as lowest rung. Even though it's cruel it's also refreshing to have the usual races flipped a bit. So naturally I played as an Elven mage in DAO lol

I would say this is more European in flavor. The way the Dales is described is kind of how pre-Reformation Christians would have described Muslim lands or something

I thought it was pretty interesting to learn that the Ancient Elves were no better than the humans who mistreat them. They also practiced slavery, using their own people as slaves, and ended up in a civil war that led to their downfall. Shows that even the Elves are as flawed as the Humans, Dwarves, and Qunari…but they’re still capable of coexisting without the interference from racist groups who teach them to hate.

True. Although it's hardly a pass for humans to do what they did. To be fair the Elves also had an entire civil war over it. And Were all immortal until Solas sealed them and the fade with the Veil he created. Circumstances were a bit different since the stakes were much more severe for the world given how powerful the Elves actually are when the veil wasnt even a thing until Solas made it

I hate the retconning. How did the dragons (old gods) get to be underground if solas didnt trick them to imprison themselves?

The old gods are not the Evanuris The evanuris are trapped in the Golden City within the fade. The city is actually Arlathan and its there because in the past the fade was part of the Natural World and was used as part of their cities and defensed, homes, libraries, and when solas created the veil he specifically locked the Evanuris within Arlathan inside the Fade.

Play UA The elder gods are in all likelyhood spirits or the "forgotten ones" the evanuris beat when they came to power They would need the evanuris freed in any event because solas fucked everyting with the creation of the veil.

I want to murder Solas so badly also the only lore I can think of is the lore of the Angelus and The Darkness from The Darkness games.

Great video, there's a few points that could probably been explored a bit more in detail, though that would probably make the video really really long
