It’s great actually getting all the stuff and I loved having a UK season for that (although a lot of time was spent attempting to explain things to RuPaul) *and* you have a local host - I much prefer those seasons - and so far, it’s great! There are some KZread videos called Rory’s Check the References for the UK seasons and recent US series which are super helpful. I’m so glad someone is doing one for the Philippines version! I hope you all enjoy your home series! It looks amazing so far and is being a great advert for the Filipino drag scene

Super good point. On the other hand, the Philippines is a quite a big country in terms of population (110 million people) compared to the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, the Netherlands, France, Italy and Thailand. So it's not really a "small" country, but the culture is very social and tight-knit. But you're right that it's smaller than the US :)

It's called code-switching in linguistics. Taglish is code-switching in the use of Tagalog and English, the most common languages of the Philippines. The word Taglish is a portmanteaux of the words Tagalog and English.

Yes hahaha we speak English and Tagalog pretty much the same amount and time that it results to what we call “Taglish” Both are official languages that’s the reason why, there’s no second or first. Both are used as lingua franca to a nation of almost a hundred regional languages.

English IS an official language here, alongside Filipino. We do hold conversations in both languages, and often alternate in the same sentence. Maybe it's inherent colonialism, but it's also kinda 'weird' to talk in full-blown Filipino in a conversation coz it'll sound like we're on the 1800s. So we mix 'em up. Hope it helps!

I thought they would sensor some of the profanities but am thankful they didn't. It adds the vibe and helps them really express themselves. Love the girls.

I was thinking more of comparing it to US drag race first season when it was 25k, so starting off the bat with double the prize money of early seasons is pretty stellar.

Episode 1 was kinda shacky (editing and production wise, the work room needs more space). However, Drag Race PH redeemed in Episode 2, the pacing and editing was so much better compared to the first one. One thing is for sure, every Queen is perfect. They truly deserve the chance to show their capabilities. This alone is worth watching!!! Congratulations to the queens!
