Just a few fun facts about the Sandman comics: written in the 80s and 90s, they featured a number of LGBTQ characters, including the first transgender character featured in a mainstream comic. Bonus points for how these characters were also written as well rounded human beings, sympathetically but flaws included, just like any other human. Lucifer being an angel would be without a gender, so I loved the additional touch of having Gwendoline Christie play the part to lean into the androgynous aspect.

This was so cool to see as someone who is a MAJOR fan of all Gaiman's work, including Sandman. And they're right. so many "fans" took issue with the series, but I think Gaiman did AMAZING work updating the comics and (as good as the comics were) changing some of the stories for the better! I have always been a fan of calliopes story in particular and was ecstatic when the story was added eventually! I pray we get more seasons of Sandman, because the stories just keep getting better!!!
For some reason with the Sandman, I could watch Trixie and Katya react to all episodes. Wouldn't even have to speak a single word, just lay on the bed, chew on popcorn and I would still enjoy it immensely.
