Ginger's story about how she was taken advantage as a child is really important to tell because gay kids having sexual experiences with adults is too often supported and normalised as just something that happens because it's difficult to find other gay kids your age to have those experiences with. The fact that it isn't always viewed as the abhorrent child abuse that it really is is troubling to me.

Oh, Ginger. I want to reach through the screen and give you a hug. You can’t regret something you didn’t have agency in. You were 14 years old. You were a child and he was an adult. This was not your “first time,” this was someone you trusted who turned on you in the ugliest of ways. You deserved so much better. Our stories are similar - I am also gay, and my first experience was also a nonconsensual encounter when I was a teenager. I was assaulted by the HS teacher I’d come out to, who said he wanted to “prove I was straight.” Sexual exploitation and abuse of LGBTQ youth is an epidemic, and while I am tremendously sorry that you have to carry the weight of this trauma with you, I’m also glad you chose to share it here. We desperately need more LGBTQ people to acknowledge these parts of our pasts, so the next kids who find themselves survivors have somebody to look at to know it’s going to be okay, that there’s a future for them completely beyond what a monster did when they were not in a position to fight them, or even recognize them as a monster. Your existence both as a survivor and a world-famous, enormously talented, kickass glamour toad is a beacon for those kids. We are not what was done to us, only what we have done with ourselves. ❤️

Yeah, because old queens were literally forced into bad decisions if they even wanted to be able to be gay at all, whereas the young ones are stupid and make bad choices even though they know that they are bad choices! But the fact that you have a million options and the internet to tell you the best way to go about it, just go ahead and blow the guy in the adult room arcade anyway. Morons. You won't catch an STD or anything that way! Obviously the concept of bug Chasers is a myth! *eyeroll* P.S. If you do not know what a bug chaser is, I strongly urge you to Google it right now. I like the way Ginger talks about her experience, with self reflectance, not that's she's at fault at all, but she recognizes the situation and puts out a good message for young kids watching. That's where I have a bit of an issue with Willam Belli, not that he's a role model or a baby sitter, but he was molested and raped because as a child you can't consent and he talks about it like having sexual encounters as a pre-teen with adult men in the bathroom stalls of water parks was normal, which isn't good for kids to hear and it'd be nice if he was a little more conscious of that.

I understand your sentiment, but you have to realize that trauma is Willams burden to bear. How he chooses to deal with it is up to him and he shouldn’t be chastised for it. He’s not responsible for anyone else, especially children. I say that meaning Willam is more of a mature entertainment queen; I wouldn’t let my kids watch South Park and I wouldn’t let them watch Willam either.

Britt M I think their young age, combined with inexperience and especially the times they were living all contributed to why they "chose" such older partners. Years ago being gay wasn't such a norm as it is now, it wasn't a predominant conversation. Which leaves room for predators like Phi Phi and Ginger Minj encountered.

*I'm A momma of an 11yr old son and I've always raised him to never pick fun at anyone that's different and to see every sexuality, and race as nothing negative at all! The hard part is his father, my ex who is nothing but a ball of insecurities of himself, that picks on anyone that's different, or not him basically! My son isn't that close to his dad, so I hope he will never be afraid to be purely himself!! My relationship with him has always been really close and we talk about everything! He is shy and doesn't talk about having crushes or anything yet, but I also always tell him he doesn't have to worry about that if he's not interested so not to feel like he needs to! I'm all about him being nothing more or less than his true self! I will forever support his choices to be won he wants! It can be hard growing up in a small town with family not being ok with you being different than what they think is normal and I love that the world has opened up so much with acceptance! Hatred will always exist no matter what, but it's only BC those PPL are so afraid of anything they don't understand!! Love is love and it's beautiful no matter what!!!!*

After hearing Ginger and Tempest's stories my respect for them just grew more, it's so brave of them to talk about abuse and conversion theraphy because a lot of people still struggle with those things and it's so important to talk about this stuff

I came out bisexual to my mother when I was 12 years old. I knew that I had always had feelings for both genders but didn't feel comfortable with admitting so till I was that age. My family always denied it and said it would be a phase that I would get over, till 10 years later and I'm still bisexual and they fully acknowledge it

Yeah, it gets even more irksome when you're bi....but married to the opposite sex. No, being married to the opposite sex does not eliminate my wanting to snuggle boobies and rub a snatch. It just means I am now committed to one thing, and can fantasize about the others (dicks included)

It can be soooo frustating, but as long as you're comfortable it's ok, they'll know it's true at some point. You just have to be patient

some of these sound really awful. I just keep wondering about all the pedos or really older guys in some of these stories. There may have been "consent," but I feel like some of these ppl really were predators.

Im sooooooo happy y'all did this... seriously. I wish that when i was younger 3 (murmurs) years ago i could've had this as my message. I'm a mother of (biologically 5) 6 and I adore ALL of my babies but i wish i had of explored my sexuality more instead of thinking i had to bring home a boy so my dad wouldn't hate me. I wish i had of talked to my mom cuz she's more loving and understanding (and younger than my boomer dad but whatever right?) I just so happen to be in a committed relationship with a man and it's not because of his ding-a-lang. I love him and isn't that just what everyone wants regardless? Please keep sharing these stories...a lot of us still need to know that it's ok to be who we are

I am a girl who comes from an unaccepting town where being anything other than "cookie cutter" is judged and frowned upon. This video is so important to me, especially the things that Tempest and Kasha said. I get teary-eyed every time I watch this (which I do often on bad days) because I wish I had more people like them in my life. I feel like they are two eccentric, accepting moms/dads to anyone who needs them. I admire all of these lovely people for stepping out and talking about this personal stuff. Whether they know it or not, they make a huge impact on little ol people like me.

Mrs. Kasha Davis is a treasure. I’ve so much gratitude for Tempest for showing the courage to bring visibility to conversion therapy with her story. This is probably the most meaningful video WOW has put out IMO 💕💜
