No fans are high on their own nonsense. They are being obsessive about one player “needing” to go. Take a look at what winning franchises do with star players they drafted.

Doug's view on not signing a legacy player like Stamkos was very interesting : the world has changed. Loyalty does not count much. Its money who talks. Like he explained. He is very right too on how difficult to find ja build a super star player. As he explained it about who are the players around him. Barkov is a rare player in that sense that he makes better any player who play with him. When they play after him with an other line up, their star is not shining that well any more. Concerning Marner its not a Q how good player he is. He is a very good player. But is he worth 10.5 million salary per year? By figures maybe not. Saros 🇫🇮 is worth every dollar for Predators. 7,74 million per year is much less than 10 million dollars of Bob. He is at least as good goalie, less off nights than Bob. But both goalies are elite.

Bertuzzi is a yes. Why don't yall put a proposal together, where the teams can designate a player as a legacy player. For that franchise which will supercede the CBA upto a certain designation of money. It's a flat rate. Say 5 sheets max. But the years are upto 5. That would allow teams to keep franchise players until they retire. But under that designation the player can't be moved. You can healthy scratch or whatever but he must retire under that franchise. Something like that. It could help with players that aren't superstars that are struggling, it could be a great thing. Do it. Peace ✌️ 😎.

Gotta love when Dougie Mac is back. The Leafs will win when they trade the overpaid soft playoff player. They can’t afford the pieces that were mentioned partly because Marner wanted to squeeze every dollar from the Leafs right out of his ROOKIE contract. And out of all the highest paid players on the Leafs, he’s the weakest link. Marner will NEVER be near the calibre of Yzerman or any leader that has won the Cup in the past. Trade him!

The Leafs have a lot of cap space? They have less this year than last (almost $2M less after paying the core 4). They need to talk to Tavares to save this team. If he waives his NMC and the Leafs can free up that $11M, they have a chance at being a decent team, possibly even re-sign Marner (but it would be tough even doing it that way). The right move would have been to move Nylander and Tavares, keep Matthews and Marner. You'd have plenty of money to lock up Domi and get two top four RHD and a decent goalie to partner with Woll.

Marner was afraid to touch the Puck.He is afraid to get hit.We can't have a player like that on a playoff team. There's a reason why sports net fired him and he can't find a job anywhere else.
