Hey question, you started off with a filament but that's not how we actually start right? We have to scan normal cosmic signatures, find a relic site, go hack and gather loot to craft the filaments right? Where do we get the bpc to actually craft it from?

you get them from running relic sites I believe. I couldnt find them on the test server and figured they would just be easy to find. I'm sure CCP is aware of this so I'll bring it up to them.

@@eventon9372 The blueprints drop extremely rarely from relic sites (about 1 per 4 sites ime), and the actual filament dropped only once out of the dozen or so sites that I've run so far.

I don't know what I'm missing, but how do you start the event? Can't find it from your video. I would have expected it around the 4th minute mark of your video, but you just mention going out there in wormholes or buy the filaments on the market (I'm in Dodixie and there is only 2 filaments available and they are crasy expensive). Anyway, KZread proposed me StrangeNet channel and there found I need to probe scan cosmic signature for Warp Matrix Convergeance sites in HS, LS, NS. I guess they can be found in WH too. Now, if I was paying more attention to the game UI, that is pretty much what is said in the Event window of the Agency. But would have been nice of you to show that part as well: how do you get the filaments on day one on your own at zero cost, instead of paying over 45-220M for those 2 filaments in Dodixie :P I can imagine one of the reason the filaments are not available on the market: players use the filaments for themselves, or sell the filaments directly to the NPC at the buy price.

Yea CCP let me and a few others try the new content early. You have to find blue prints of the new filaments during exploration. Honestly not sure what sites or where since I don't think those were on the test server yet when I did but I could be wrong. Yea the very 'start' of the event is kinda confusing but in a couple days I expect the market to have lots of the filaments ready

@@eventon9372 I'm testing some fits for T0 and T1 abyss on Singularity, and saw the login reward for Dr Who is poping since the last 2 days or so. I tried to scan cosmic signature there in both high sec and low sec, but could not find any site for the event. So that's why I wasn't sure how the event actually starts. Maybe it was not meant to be playable before release day, which is understandable.

So I'm currently running a Pacifier through high sec - there are no Convergence sites. Nada. I can buy the filaments which is fine, but there's either an issue with sites respawning or something else wrong. I know it's not me - I had no issues scanning the Winter Nexus sites. This time the sites just aren't there.

Time to sell my RNI and get my Pacifier exploration trips back on track. Was pulling 400 mil a day on a decent xplo trip in null, lvl 4 mission payout is shit

Awesome video! I came to see if you did a breakdown before I jumped into it. That said, the event is hot garbage. I spent 2.5 hours exploring in highsec. I got the materials to build one (1!!!!) Curious filament. As far as I can tell, the Curious site is the SAME as the scannable anomaly with a few extra small and medium cans. I hope CCP can adjust drop rates on the fly, otherwise this, potentially pretty cool, event is going to flop.

they very much can adjust spawn rates and stuff. I dont think they had the initial scannable anomalies in the test server (but I could be wrong). I guess those sites are a little bit harder to find than normal and people aren't getting as many filaments as they wanted. I'm sure they are aware of this but I can let them know a little more directly. Its a great event, just some knobs need to get turned.

I'm sure you figured it out. You take the acceleration gate that's in the site.

oof, 50 scan strength... I guess I now know why newbies find scanning so hard!

this is specificly for the sites that I believe are only L1 initially. Once you get the filaments you won't need to scan at all, at that point its just hacking

You can do A LOT with a completely free account. It just takes time to train the right skills. Start a few different alpha accounts (new, separate accounts, not the three toons allowed per account). A scanner alt, an abyss alt, a praxis event alt, and maybe a cruiser event/ratting/mission alt. Now you can queue up a ton of skills, even as an alpha. Set it and forget it for each of those. Six months from now you can just pick the activity you want to do. Save the 1 million referral points and redeem them AFTER you get through the skills you need. That's a 100% free account(s) with 6 million skill points.
