Not only are disabled people losing representation, saying that he can't be in a wheelchair because that indicates all wheelchair users are evil basically means that now they're saying that all able bodied people are evil. I'm a wheelchair user and I love the old Davros, and would appreciate if Davies just treated disabled people as everyone else. I don't care if Davros is evil and in a support system, just as able bodied people don't care they can be represented as evil either. if he thinks he's making things better, he's not, he's just screwing up a great character.

You are very likely no longer the target audience. The directive from BBC and Disney was to attract a younger audience. 30-under viewership is higher than it's ever been. You might also want to stop establishing opinions based on overnight BBC viewership since that doesn't take into account BBCiplayer or Disney+ viewership. It also doesn't take into account that the majority of viewers, including myself, do not watch the show on the day of its release, which is why people who post this kind of garbage tend ignore the numbers over a seven-day span because it doesn't fit their narrative.

@@davidutnikeven the seven day figures are nowhere near Dr Who at its peak. Think about that. Dr Who’s figures we’re using based on UK views on one night. Now they are including streaming over seven days from all locations and even with that excuse the viewing figures are below peak Dr Who.

Even my Mom, who is from New Zealand and loved watching Dr. Who as a little girl, is absolutely disgusted what Dr. Who has become!!! She grew you in the 60s and 70s when a time during Dr. Who's golden years and when they first introduced Jodie Whittaker, she was disgusted and stopped supporting the show. Now the presidents and producers wonder why their show is tanking like the Titanic and cant be saved!!! I stopped watching Dr. Who years ago and now you have to buy Disney+ to watch the new episodes, which is not going to happen. I was about 10 years old when the very 1st episode aired and the whole family loved it! I remained a die-hard fan until Jodie Whittaker arrived. I tried to have an open mind and kept hoping that the writing would improve but instead it just got worse. I couldn't finish watching S11. The end.

The show that just celebrated it's 60th anniversary has been pronounced dead more times than the Doctor has had incarnations. It died when Hartnell left. It died when Troughton left It died when Tom Baker left - there will never be another Dr as good as him It died when Michael Grade moved it out of the Saturday spot. It died when Michael Grade cancelled the show. It died when Eccleston left. It died when RTD brought in his "gay agenda". It died when David Tennant left - - there will never be another Dr as good as him It died when RTD left and Moffat took over It died when Moffat left and Chibnall took over It died when a WOMAN dared become the Doctor It died when a BLACK WOMAN dared become the Doctor It died when Timeless Child RUINED THE LORE FOREVER It died when a Trans person was cast It died when Tennant (father of a Transchild himself) and Tate appeared in a story defending Trans people It died when Disney got involved And now it's dying/dead because there's a Black Gay Doctor. Eccleston was the best, it's a shame he quit. Capaldi was the worst. He was the beginning of the end.

Davros didn't just have a wheelchair. His chair was the basis for how the daleks were destined to look as well. There's no problem with having women in roles that used to solely played by men, eg Buffy as well as Dr Van Helsing, Supergirl as well as Superman. But in the case of Jodie Whitaker, it was as if they'd deliberately done it to alienate their traditional viewers. She comes across as a killjoy who's there to make sure no one gets any big ideas or has any fun.

Agree, I gave Jodie a chance, but bad scripts and being preached too , plus White man bad, made me not watch any more shows.

I gave it a try and could not muster it past 2 episodes. Bad acting and even worse scripts. Then there were all the wokerization of all the characters. Sickening and unwatchable. It started before Jodie. Some of Capaldi's seasons were pretty Woke. The character Bill Pots was the last straw to me, terrible just terrible.

Even though many objected to Jodi's seasons, I think her shows are still more watchable than the stuff they're creating now. Lets look at what just happened to Bud Light when they decided to cater to a group that makes up less than 1% of the population.

Dr Who ended when Peter Davidson finished as the doctor, might I even say it ended with Tom Baker.

The Doctor was always an old, wise man with a young heart. He is an alien, too. This is the role. Dr Who is dead since Capaldi, who played an Ego. Whitaker was the grave-stone. And Gatwa is only a big bad joke of this.

To be fair it's been diminishing steadily for over a decade. It must be very difficult to come up with great stories over and over. This is just the final straw. RIP Dr Who reboot.

Another excellent commentary, albeit a bit of a shift from your usual fare. Your comments about the BBC are very relevant, unfortunately they probably also apply to our ABC to a slightly lesser degree. It's a little different but it's interesting to note that they were both very early adopters of the TNI. In fact the BBC is where it began as far as I'm aware.

I'm not sure who thinks that Jodie Whittaker is a good actor. I first came across her in the brilliant British crime series Broadchurch, with the lead actors being David Tennant (coincidently) and Olivia Coleman. There were many other fine actors in the series. But, although Jodie Whittaker had major role in the series, she had all the appeal of a wet sock. As an actress she is just plain bland.

At 10:45 you stated "try to please everyone", but I think you are incorrect due to the fact they are very consciously targeting a specific class of people who believe feelings = reality and this is definitely (thank goodness) not everyone. This is also evident by the actors who state " go and touch grass" or "this is not for you" if you don't go along with the dysphoric derangement in society.

It died half way through Matt Smith's first series. Some of the scripts after that were ludicrous.

I am so impresed at how much organisations are prepared to spend employing people that actively dislike a property to undermine it and robbing temselves of future income.

I can't understand why the BBC would trash one of their best loved characters.The money that they made off merchandise alone would be reason enough to take the show off a few months to hire a new Doctor Who and writing staff and get rid of all the woke nonsense.

This new Series 1 may lay the groundwork for the show's cancelation... but by shooting Series 1 & 2 back-to-back, a 2nd Series is pretty much guaranteed at this point. It's already been pretty much in the can (if it's not already there). And that's kind of the problem. Series 2 was written and produced without any feedback on Series 1. That means any course correction likely won't happen until Series 3. IMHO, if the viewers keep tuning out through Series 2... the chances of Disney bailing on any addition series goes up... as does the chances that the series will be cancelled. And RTD claims he's already working on material for Series 3... so that might complicate any need for a course correction too.

All the BBC had to do was let the 12th Doctor die (as Timelords are supposed to) and have him pass the Tardis onto his grand daughter Susan. Susan opens the Tardis heart when he dies, The Dr’s energy merges with the Tardis, Susan regenerates into Jodie and Susan continues on. The Dr can even pop up as a hologram inside the Tardis to help Susan.

None of this rubbish will make any of today's kids say in 20 years, 'I remember hiding behind the sofa when Dr Who was on the telly' I am so lucky to have been the perfect age to be doing this in Tom Baker's gothic era during the mid 70's, when horror was it's aim and not some box ticking exercise of 'inclusiveness. I'll be willing to bet that nobody equated Wheelchair users to the evil of Davros, all except these idiots, it goes a long way to seeing how their minds work, they are actually actively looking for these things in the most innocent places. I do hope that this is the end, because I shudder at the thought of what they will do next when this new Dr leaves after his one and only series.

Rowan Atkinson was by far the best ever Dr Who. A must watch video on KZread is .... " Rowan Atkinson is Doctor Who | Comic Relief " It's as funny as hell and sums up the Dr in one episode.

Here's why that's a smooth-brained comment: You have a split of 97% versus 3%. The 3% complain and ask for 5%. But the 97% turn around and say god how about we make them 2% and see how THEY like it?!? (percentages made up to highlight the problem, not representative of actual porportions) Woman, Minorities, etc are trying to bring things back to balance. Comments like this ignore that inequality already exists, and that white males have been the de-facto representation for so long now you only notice it when others question it..

It was dead the second Disney got hold of it. Disney is just a giant meet grinder for traditionally loved stories, movies and T.V shows. If they strip us of our sense of cultural identity, it is easier to control us. Based on the idea that every bad movie spoils the memory of a good movie in it's franchise, They erase these movie franchises from our list of happy memories. It's like bombarding matter with antimatter until it no longer exists.

I stopped watching it yrs ago after a line in an episode stating "I can tell his in HQ because of his hair" I was like "wtf was that about" turns off.

I didn't have any issues with Jodi Whittaker as the Doctor, however, the writing for her 3 seasons was atrocious. Had she been given better scripts she could have become a fan favourite, but the writers made the stories too woke, preachy, and flat, which caused a lot of fans to leave. Now we have Ncuti Gatwa and RTD throwing their sexual lifestyle (LGBTQ???) in the viewers faces every week. Is it any wonder that even more viewers have tuned out? IMHO, Dr. Who started dying about half way through Capaldi's last season.

After the 13th Doctor Jodie Whittake rewrite his past killing him I could not believe Catherine Tate and David Tennant came back to help destroy any remaining part of him and drive the nails into his coffin to make sure he could never be revived for his old fans. This means to me Peter Capaldi the 12th Doctor is the last Doctor for me

I think one reason for going off into identity politics is that the showrunners have run out of ideas and are doing anything they can just to garner attention. I hardly even want to give them that attention by discussing it anymore. Historically, Doctor Who has gone through slumps. Not that many people fondly remember the Colin Baker period. IMO, the show needs to go back into mothballs. It can wait for another reboot in the future. At present, it's like a band that hasn't made a good album in a while doing stunts for publicity.

The problem with Jodie wasn’t her gender, it was her accent. The US audience couldn’t understand her.

Maybe they needed to watch more stuff with English people in. Did they have this difficulty with Eccleston, or with Jane Leeves' Manchester accent in "Frasier"? We didn't moan when we saw The Wire season 1 with its thick African American Baltimore accents. Subtitles exist for all of these.

I never understood the logic about the changes to Davros. He is in his chair because his obsession with his experiments effectively destroyed most of his body, he did it to himself. Him being in the chair isn’t meant as negative to anyone disabled, it’s a dig at how being evil and doing evil things destroys you.

Honestly, I always wonder why the people running the franchise can't leave a well running series concept untouched and, if they want to focus on diversity, inclusion, using new pronouns etc., then create a spin-off, e. g. calling it "Dr. Who Mysteries" or something like that, while the old series could still go on the way it always did. This way, the old fanbase could still enjoy the original show while other kind of viewers can watch the spin-off with all changes the producers can ever dream of. But no, they prefer to change a once popular franchise that many people like into a totally different show that nobody likes (beside themselfs). So it happened to Star Wars, Star Trek and even now to Dr. Who, and I bet they will blame the audience again for not accepting this new strategy. In other words: Even the Daleks would wonder how they "exterminated" the Dr. Who show. Pity.

I grew up with DW through the 70's & 80's & a huge fan of Pertwee & Baker (both of whom I met in person during their visits here in Sydney Australia circa late 70's). DW is ALREADY DEAD and decomposing as it swirls down the woke toilet & makes me physically ill... and RTD as the standard issue woke SJW drone actually makes me throw up a little bit more.

If you want to see how far its sunk, watch the brilliantly tight scripted and imaginative episode 'Blink: from the Tennant era where the Dr is barely in the episode, to this current season. The change is more than dramatic
