There is even in CMC vellore affiliated hospitals and in St John's Medical college.

I think community medicine subject was made with the same intention, which is already taught for 3 years in mbbs, and exam is conducted in pre final year. We also have post-graduation in community medicine.

There should be no need for md community medicine. Community medicine has the most weightage throughout MBBS and internship.
