A lot of it went over my head. But I picked up a lot, too!
Fascinating explanation of an extremely interesting part of my world.
excelent
I just watched the whole talk. Interesting and enlightening.
How long can mantle upwelling associated with spreading ridges remain active after its spreading ridge has subducted? The Baja Peninsula was created when the EPR was subducted and the associated mantle upwelling continued and rifted Baja from the Guerrero Terrane, which took 10-15M years to develop under the continental lithosphere. Can Eocene-Miocene mantle upwelling remain active and be a source of continental extension (B&R) and rifting (NM Rift Zone?)
Stop saying um!!!
