Rev Vernon, I may be late, but I am just watching your Podcast. My suggestion is to do a Podcast on why are black men are marrying out of their race at an alarming number. We are at the point of no longer preserving our race, because of excuses from black men that black women are difficult. However, black men create difficult energy. It pains me to hear you say their is a shortage, when there really is not a shortage, there is a mis-education of the significance of preserving our race with our young black men. I could go on, but the shortage is being brought on by our men not by any other reason. Blessings, Joyce Marie

You have to compliment each other and be mindful of your differences and receptive to one another. Life happens to where a women or man didn't meet the grade to the satisfaction of another. If that's an issue then they are not for you if they can't meet you where you are at.

Black women are going to have to start opening up to the possibility of getting to know men who are from other countries and backgrounds...there are many who are believers...we need to stop wanting someone who grew up in the same hood as us...plus you grow and can end up with such a richer life experience...there are men all over the world looking for good women. With a healed and healthy mind...we attract better...automatically.

But the problem is this message is not communicated to men. As if men are so great that we have to lower our expectations to have them. No offense that’s garbage and it really is about puffing up men’s ego. Perhaps if they lower their ego and be more realistic about who they are and what they have to offer a woman they would be in a better position to have a wife.

@@jamiejackson1780 When each of the men talked about their standards in a woman they were mostly superficial. What I would consider an expectation was their standard. They weren’t asked if they compromised on their expectations because the general thought is they don’t have to. In the video over and over and over again the message was Black women don’t have options so they need to lower their expectations. We all have flaws. I don’t think that’s the issue. For me, the issue is men’s desire to be wanted past their flaws doesn’t align with the levels of their standards. Mind you, I don’t believe that all men are as superficial as a guest on the panel. However, it is important to note the mentality that a lot of men have around expectations of women and their inability to meet those women’s standards. It’s most often times a mitch match and the women are the ones that are told they have to compromise and adjust. That’s a problem. We don’t train, prepare, support and hold accountable men, especially in the church, to do better and be better.

My sister I hear and understand your rationale. As a man with my own children, I am intelligent, hard working, God fearing and I love my children with all my heart. I have my responsibilities and do what is required to meet them. But men in general want their children and do everything we can to support them but the mother does NOT want our children to have anything to do with us. The Govt does not support us, the mother does not want us to have anything to do with our children (not all mothers, but many don't want us near our children). So what should we do, raise hell and make ourselves out to be the bad guy like they think we are? We go through courts and spend tens of thousands of dollars to get rights and still we end up with the short stick. Here is another catch twenty two. If you understand the law and paying for children, a man who gets married or involved again will be taxed on the incomes of him and his new spouse. The combined income of these two people will determine the amount of child support he has to pay. Can I ask, do want to pay child support for a child or children you never had to a woman you never met, for the sake of the man you claim to love? For arguments sake, let's say you two make 70k per year. 10k or 20k per year until the last child or only child is eighteen, is going to another person you don't know and don't really care about? These are some issues us men face, for you to consider. God bless you.

  • @cfacia6045

@@returningtoperfection I understand your concern. This is why it's extremely important to get to know the woman, her character and morals before sleeping with her with out protection. Men choose their children's mother. I never slept with men that did not meet my expectations or those that failed to be involved in their own children's life. As a result, I had a daughter with a quality black man that is involved in her life 50% of the time as we are no longer together. As such, although he has his PHD, and makes well over 6 figures, I have never gone after him for child support. He has not paid child support to date and our daughter is now 12. His takes care of her and all her needs when she is with him. The minute you get someone pregnant or even before, men can establish a parenting plan that dictates how you all will co-parent. It's just like a divorce decree, but both parties create their own terms instead of the courts. Children thrive when adults operate in their best interest. Best regards.

There’s a definite difference between lower your expectations AND lower your standards. Expectations are simply what you “expect” Standards are what you “demand” Meaning you not compromising or settling. You can expect a man to have a job You can not expect him to be a billionaire. Your standard can simply be that he’s working, he has drive and ambition. He has a vision and a dream that you can come alongside him and “help” him bring it to pass IF it has not already passed. One thing I have come to know for sure is that A man’s Character is KEY🙏🏾 IF he loves God, he should KNOW how to love, honor and respect you and vice versa.

Be realistic with your expectations but don't lower your standards. I believe that's what the Pastor really intended to say or should have said. What I've come to realize and following this and a number of other subjects is that it seems that women aren't interested in what men need. The common statement has prefaced many a message in church, "happy wife, happy life". As such the emphasis for men to focus on what a woman wants.

You just spoke on 'one' of the 3-Things that I think is absolutely Major...to which I was "a little" surprised that Doc Vernon didn't mention: 'Character' as you mentioned...and the other 2 are: 'Integrity' and 'Spirituality'. In most cases, Integrity is the 'frame' (foundation) of 'Character', and although there are many men who claim to LOVE JESUS, The 'Spirit of (and) Integrity' is not always in Practice--ANNNND can be quite challenging when not in Practice or Disciplined or Focused. Either way, I just Love Dr. RAV for bringing such awareness to the forefront and challenging thousands of people to really look into themselves with the additional ability to look into others and perform a 'Good Screen-shot' before embellishing in unhealthy or unsuitable relationships and getting scorned more than before. Ya gotta Love Vernon!!!

The guy in the purple shirt has a very good point. He wants a woman/wife that has energy for him. Does she have anything left for him? Ladies he is speaking the truth. Sometimes, we get in these toxic relationships with men who are not ordained by God to be in our lives that we become drain on all levels. Emotional, Sexually, and Spiritually etc. It’s very important to heal from toxic relationship. Meaning, be single. No dating, no sex just seeking God and waiting on him for your husband. When God sees that your ready you will have the energy for the man that is suppose to be in your life. God Bless! Good message. I would love if the Pastor speaks on blended families and the consequences of a saved woman marrying unsaved man. Also if he can speak on the scripture it is better to marry than to burn. How is this scripture applied to someone life.

The TRUTH about relationships Connection cannot be created, nor can it be destroyed. It’s either there or it’s not. There’s nothing you can do to build connection. You can build a stronger bond. You can build a stronger attachment to each other. But that still doesn’t mean connection is there. And you see this play out in situations where you have people who could meet each other right now and have this amazing connection. Something happens when they fall apart. They come back together years later, 10, 20, years later. And it’s like they never stop talking. It just falls right back into place. It’s connection. It’s a deeper thing that’s occurring there. To me connection is your spirit recognizing it’s met. It is something that is happening beneath the surface.

I can agree with Pastor Vernon, when he states that outward appearance is key because I did and is still doing the appearance look but totally the opposite. I don't want to shine because I'm not interested in having an relationship now, so dressing to impress, means nothing to me, however I'm still feel good about me, everyday.

This was good! The trend I’ve noticed is that some, not all but some saved men will go get a unsaved woman and marry her before they will get a saved woman. So now that have the saved women marry unsaved men because the saved men are not available. Again not all saved men and women are doing that. But that’s the trend I’ve noticed. I am saved and single that desires a saved and single man.

I understand we must have energy. Sometimes a bad relationship will drain your energy. Thank you for knowing that you are the provider. I believe if we both are following God spoken words we will not have any problems. Prayer is the answer. No lowering expectations. The earth belongs to the Lord and everything in it. We as believer know . When a man finds a wife the man will receive favor from God. FAVOR! Who does not want favor.

A Man Must KNOW HIS WORTH Too! Society’s always telling women know your worth. But we act like men aren’t supposed to know their worth. And people take issue when a man knows his worth. Men should know their worth just as much as a woman. You have to understand you have value here. You are just as important to this relationship as she is. So just as you need to give to her. She needs to give to you. It’s a two way street. And I think more importantly. You have to get to a point where you are not afraid if she walks away from you. The reality is that men, especially good men, get caught up in the fear of losing her. That they’d do everything in their power to keep her. Rather than losing her you’re losing yourself.

I hate at times some of us women gets so defensive when they only expressing what they look for in a relationship with a woman. We have our list, and not ashamed to tell it. The same shall go for the men even if we like it or not it´s their choice. I just pray that we be with the one God has for us!

The married brother spoke about waiting and I'm going to be honest ... I've met Christian men who have told me I'll be alone, no one is waiting, etc. when they find out I prefer to wait sexually. I explain that I wanted to be a kept woman because I learned I'm a treasure ... and they bow out. I need a podcast talking about when a woman waits, but the very men who should desire them, reject them. Non-believing men find value in me much more than believers. Some times it's heartbreaking.

So happy to see the church finally having open conversations about the absolute Biggest Problem in the Body of Christ of all ages for women. We need to hear this from the Mens point of view. Finally. Thank you. And as a seasoned woman I will have to say most black women have Not been fathered by their black fathers so do black women respect and honor men ? Especially black men. Do black women take the time to get whole in Christ? And let the older women Teach the younger women HOW to love their husbands how to love their children. We all need discipleship in not only spiritual things but how to have Godly and loving relationships. Be feminine too. And men get fathered and be real men in Christ. Get healed from not being fathered or mothered. Love this conversation!

Thank you to all the gentlemen that shared also. I have never been married and have no kids and I'm from the don't lower your standards era. I have not lowered them but I certainly have readjusted them as time have progressed. I think it is so interesting to hear Alvin say he is looking for energy I am surrounded by men with no energy or ambitions. So I understand where he is coming from. I am often ask do I ever settle down because I'm high energy also. So I get it Alvin. I'm looking forward to a part 2 of this session. Walk Bless.

Continued... As men we already have a lot of pressure that we have to face. As much as we talk about the things that women deal with there are a lot of things that weigh on a man and make it hard for him; to feel confident, to feel good, to be ambitious to do the things that he needs to do. To have a woman who can pour positive energy into him, and lift up his spirits, and make him feel good about who he is. Is a very powerful thing that I believe every man needs when they're with a woman in a relationship. Of course, we can talk about the sexual satisfaction. There's a lot of other things that come into play, but those things are just mentioned support, believing in him, and positive energy. I believe those things will have the greatest impact on his life. Everything else can fall into place from there. To me, it's not about necessarily what men want but what do they need? And then when you tap into that, that will change everything for both sides.

Some things I agree with but some things I don't. A Godly man should come to build..if she has a building..help her Keep it up...and to marry someone from my church...God has Godly men everywhere not just my church.
