I grew up with mennonite Plautdietsch but half of this I cannot understand🙁

+SnaggingBark97 I'm not 100% sure if it can be called dialect, because there are some websites/people that I know that say its a whole new language. one reason is that it has different words, it's influenced by Dutch, English, Swedish and other Northern languages. therefore it has it's own dictionary, like other languages. The language has it's own dialects as well. Sadly it's slowly dying out because most parents dont speak 'Plattdeutsch' to their kids.

+Anton Hofmann I believe it was ruled to be recognised as a language in a 2004 debate in the German parliament.

+luettje luentje les mal den wiki artikel dazu, speziell "status". die sache ist linguistisch recht umstritten und nach heutigen maßstäben eher ein dialekt als eine eigenständige sprache.
