But it is, it may start as depression not negating that one bit. However once you begin to over eat it becomes an addiction no different than heroin or crack. Just less deadly and more delicious and you can go to a drive thru and get it. Idk if Uber eats is delivering heroin to anywhere but Portland. All is all though it’s a mental health disorder to some extent but you have to grapple with the addiction to food at the same time.

Her age and weight also puts her at risk for sleep apnea not just depression which could cause her to sleep so much. My dad used to nap often during the day because his sleep quality was so poor at night, he got a breathing mask and that went away, his mood rose dramatically and he had so much more energy to live a full life. Maybe now he can lose weight and help him sleep well without a mask and without being smothered by himself

I am also anaemic and I kept thinking that I was more sick than I actually was. I was constantly sleeping and tired and it never occurred to me that I was low in iron until the doctor pointed it out during an appointment that was intended to remedy my depression. After six months of iron infusion, I am more energetic and less depressed. I'm sleeping 7 or 8 hours a day instead of 12 to 14 hours when I could. And the icing on the cake is my skin feels and looks better and I have definitely slowed down my aging. Even the dark circles around my eyes have drastically reduced. It's amazing what a sufficient dose of iron can do.

Sleeping so much, It's not always related to depression. sometimes it is an extreme vitamin/trace element deficiency. e.g. For example, low iron levels can cause you to sleep so much. Also, certain medications can make you tired. especially antidepressants . without a very precise blood test, etc., simply to conclude that it is because of the depression is dangerous and stupid.

Ultimately, I would recommend getting checked out by a doctor. because there can actually be various causes responsible for it.

Well it doesn't take a genius to see that's she's depressed, she's in terrible physical condition, got big bags under her eyes and has 0 energy and her eyes are kinda bloodshot, not to mention her general tone of voice and body language. While he should prob do all sort's of test on her anyways, her severe obesity has gotta be one of the first problems to tackle. She's also probably sleepy because of blood sugar crashes, and perhaps dehydration. not to mention sleep apnea is very common in morbidley obese patients, which greatly reduces quality of sleep.

It’s probably a vicious cycle at this point. You’re depressed because of your size and because your brain lacks essential nutrients with that poor diet (e.g. vitamin B, a deficiency of which causes low mood). And when you sleep so much you are constantly lethargic, have no energy and keep eating. I was probably doing 15-16 hours sleep weekdays and 18 hours sleep weekends. Sometimes I’d get home from school and go to sleep in my uniform and go to school in the same clothes the next day. I emphasise with her for this reason. Depression is no joke when it comes to being physically healthy. The exhaustion makes you seek out easy, comforting food with a high calorie count and it takes over your will to do anything active. I hope she gets the help she needs.

This was recommended today. She moves so gracefully and well. Traveling two days to get the help she needs and wants. She’s incredibly inspiring. The way she speaks with such honesty and knows she needs to make a change. Bless her, I hope she gets on track ❤

I mean. Being as big as she is, she's probably not sleeping well and her body is just so big she's exhausted all the time. Depression too can cause the sleep problems. I really hope she's successful with her journey.
