I think many people like to listen to music or watch some art on tv or online in their free time ( yes, they do that actually to relax their mind) but when a family member, child or teenager has an artistic talent, still many families are not open to pursue. They even can bring you down saying this is all nonsense, its a waste of time etc… so not everyone is open to pursue art, it is sad because, what would the world be without ART and MUSIC… We dont want to imagine that.

Yes even regional good schools including my school have a music, drawing, physical education class from KG to 7th grade and then kids who develop interest in whatever art or area, explore it more, become expert. Also my dad made one musical instrument and one sport mandatory for each kid ( as per kid's choice of course lol ) in the family. So now we have Sitar, harmonium, mandolin, tabla instrumentalists in family and we have our evening concerts at home whenever we want. It is pure joy and happiness. Its a blast! Note: we kids were obedient and listened to our parents

When my father went to school all of our brothers and sisters took different instruments each surrounding to mother. My elder brother played violin and also played harmonium like OP NAYYAR. My third brother studied music MA in SV University at Tirupati. My 7th brother played ploot and guitar. My 8th brother played harmonium and mandlin

Great family discussion on 🎼 music. My daughter at aged 5 went to music 🎶 lessons. Indian. That was a stepping stone/ foundation to sing 🎤 English songs too. She got involved in Choir in High School and also at her Univ. UCLA. Dr. Nene is right it brings people together. Great social networking too. Her dad plays the Indian drum Tabla. I have a passion for dancing. She is academic inclined too and studied BioChem. The new generation has lots of opportunities. I wish I could be a great singer. Befitting time when we are just celebrating the world music day! You speak so much about the importance of music in everybody’s lives. May I request you to give your opinion on music of exceptional quality spontaneously played by children and people with severe learning disabilities, who cannot even read nor write, and they are mentally subnormal! Who have no idea about any musical language. You know, almost as musical savants! They exist. One such person is my son, born with William syndrome. I guess, Dr. Nene might have operated these cases for heart conditions. I request your opinion on how is it possible for these kids to play music exceptionally well and without any understanding of musical language. Thank you.
