    @@medicalmisinformation The Bible, and Torah would have been included in his exposition, including Historical, Political, and Cultural implications. Dr. Michael Heiser would have presented the events in a rich historical context with future trends based on Prophecy and uncommon evidence and/or documentation. Essentially, we would view this conflict in 3D- as a mostly complete lesson in a human and spiritual context. 📌Yet, the horrific pain of what is occurring is a given- no coherent and sane person can deny this- including Dr. Michael Heiser.

    @@nereida116the Torah is in the Tanakh, the tanakh is the Old Testament of the Bible. Modern Pharisee Jews that are religious follow the tanakh and one of the later created “oral” torahs … usually they follow the Babylonian oral torah. The only person I’ve seen expand on oct 7th is Ken Johnson, it’s interesting what he’s found in the Dead Sea scrolls. Dr. Heiser wasn’t into eschatology but it would’ve still been interesting what comments he’d make.

    @@nereida116Modern day Israel is just Canaan in disguise, these so called modern “Jews” are not the original Israelites from the Old Testament, they are more likely to be the descendants of the canaanites who the actual people of Israel drove out. They just disguise as “Jewish”, if they are of Israelite descent it’s of the people that went back to worshiping false gods and the followers of Baal, the people God warned Moses about. We as Christians are the actual Israelites, the actual Jews so to say. This modern day Israel is nothing more than the cloak under which modern day Babylon hides.

    Romans 3:10-12 “as it is written: “There is no righteous person, not even one; There is no one who understands, There is no one who seeks out God; They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, There is not even one.” Calvinism teaches that man has free will. But due to the fall man has lost its moral liberty and is in bondage to sin. In other words without the intercession of God without the blood of Christ it is impossible to be saved.

    I agree with most of what Heiser says, but with Eden the space would be too small for all the offspring of Adam and Eve. With the growth of their Family Eden would have expanded too until it fills the entire earth. But sooner or later one person had to give in the temptation and eat from that forbidden fruit. If we analyze the garden specific we can understand the the purpose of the Garden. It was an eternal solution for a problem that needs to be solved. Imagine no one so far had eaten from the fruit. No one ever that was born had to die. The earth hat a population of more than 100 Billion People. Satan would have figured out knew strategies to lead people into temptation and sin. The garden was a solution for the rebellious creature named Luzifer and he didn’t even understood it by himself. With successful tempting Eve Lucifer had spoken his own eternal condemnation. Satan hated humans because they were made in the image of god place above him in heaven and on earth. Thats why he went for the kill.

    So what does it mean for a comatose human to be an imager of God? One thing that seems to be important is that God created eachness in us, i.e. there are inherent differences among humans, i.e. this as well IS in the image of God.

  • @WaterspoutsOfTheDeep
    @WaterspoutsOfTheDeep5 ай бұрын

    I don't agree with his idea of image bearing. I think the concept of our spirit bearing the image of God makes more sense than it being a role. No other creation including angels have a spirit like ours that can commune with God. The angels don't have that privilege they have to watch us to see how God interacts with us to get revelation about God. They can't commune with God in prayer, to know his heart personally. Our spirit has to be what is made in God's image for him to connect with us in such a intimate way. When we receive salvation the Holy Spirit inhabits our spirit. He isn't doing that with all the other "spirits" of creation so the breath of God being in everything with life is not an argument Heiser. Secondly on top of that this is verified as Christians are stated as the temple of the Spirit the salt of the earth. If that was not the case and all life is the breath of God in that it is also the presence of God that statement made of the Holy Spirit would make no sense. Third there is no relative issue, a spirit is intrinsic to all life of humans, there is no attribute issue. Also his statement about Genesis of let us make man in our image makes zero sense, for only God has creation power so only God is speaking it has nothing to do with angels. Angels are only present because when God destroyed the earth as judgment and made it formless and void he made the promise he would not make a full end to it. The angels are there to bare witness to God keeping his word. There was other stuff I had to say about the image bearing I thought about during the video but I forgot already.

    What if God was just talking in third person or something? Like him saying “let us make man in our image “ well assuming the image he’s talking about is a physical body w a soul then , I think he’s talking to Jesus/himself. The image he’s making is like his own which is Jesus in the flesh, then Adam. That’s what I think

    @@purplelover9633 I'm not sure what your message is supposed to be as a reply to my comment. I'm specifically pointing out Heisers take on this topic isn't a good one. I don't get how you are commenting on any of this? Of course God is talking in third person about himself all three members of the trinity, so what do you mean what if? Are you trying to say God isn't triune and is saying and is speaking in the formal plural sense of self? That would be nonsensical because the text would just say God made there would be no reason for God to make a personal statement of himself then, as we see for the rest of the creation/acts of God in Genesis he just does it he doesn't talk of himself to do it. So the context is established God must be addressing himself, why would he be explaining himself in such an odd way when he doesn't anywhere else there? Jesus came as the second Adam becoming incarnate. Adam came before the incarnate transformation of Jesus so I don't get how you are saying Adam was based on the incarnate Jesus the Word was not yet made flesh. So clearly the image of God is not based on physical flesh. It must be something else like the nature of God his Spirit nature. The image of God man is based on being a duty role Heiser is making up just is nonsensical.

    The ten commandments of God, though there are clearly more than ten, can be divided into two parallel groups of five. The command to "not take the Lord's name in vain" is parallel to "do not steal". Thus it can be understood that becoming a representative of the name - nature, reputation - of God but not being like him means you are taking something that does not rightfully belong to you. If you proclaim that you are a "Christian" but in no way resemble Christ then you are a THIEF and should give back the name!

    Here's a perfect example of a human explanation for something that we don't have the power to understand. Naaman had faith, albeit he was healed from it. Does God not say the wisdom of man is folly? John 8:58? Is it really hard to understand that God reveals his trinity to us through scripture? Is he not omniscience? The real kicker is going to be when you read rev. And see the verse about the 7 spirits of God.

    Heiser appears to change his definition of 'us' midstream. First 'us' is the mysterious 'heavenly host', then 'us' seems to flip back to the Holy Trinity in his conversation. This appears to be because there are two uses of the 'image', first in reference to 'us', and second in reference to 'He'. He weirdly fails to point out that women cannot become like Christ in the second sense, because they are female, and that would be an abomination, but apparently are being made in the image in the first sense. Heiser is mis-using 1 Jn 3:1-3, John is only talking to men, ...'And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies HIMSELF as he is pure.'

    That’s a pessimistic perspective. Is pain, suffering, illness, and murder the entirety of your existence??? If it is, then that is what is sad. Some of us expirence joy, happiness, exilliration, and love. It is the bad that exhalts the good and makes life worth living when we expirence happiness and love. It is why God gave us the way in which we should treat each other, so that the bad could be reduced and we could expirence the good, yet humanity largely ignores this and continues to suffer. The suffering is ours, which we choose, of our own freewill.
