The boot and hinge kit is all I kept of my DR leaf vac. The Dixie Chopper mulches them into dust. In my situation the entire machine turned out to be unnecessary. Found that out when the boot plugged and there was nothing to dump, and not a leaf left on the ground. Application of the machine is everything. I gave it to my Dad. In his situation, it works great. So well, he bought another one just to work remote with. He's in the middle of the woods where leaves are more than just a fall or spring clean thing. Start on them in fall and you might get most of them up by next July.

Larry I have to agree to some extent. I was in awe of power of the motor. I purchased the top of the line DR vac. The 8 inch hose was really a big difference. Here is the problem I had. I mainly cut grass with it, over filling was a problem. It wasn’t easy lifting the top up to dump. Also I had a lot of trouble with the top shifting. It would shift so much the hard plastic connection would come out of the bag. I tried collecting smaller loads, but once it started slipping out of the collector it would not stop. Sure I could have rigged it and risked loss of my warrantee, but I figured as much as I paid for this I shouldn’t be having these problems. So I called DR to complain, I was hung up on before I could even talk to someone, several times. Then I was put on hold for over an hour. Then I was told I would bare the cost of return shipping, that’s was when I came unglued. Now they put me with a gal in the complaint section she was very gracious and kind. She asked me if I would do my best to clean up the unit and she would send a truck. I had only used the unit for about 3 weeks so it wasn’t difficult to clean. They did refund my money and still today send me advertising of their products. Also a comment on JD mowers. I have two a 425 and a 515E love them both. However in most cases parts can only be purchased from JD directly. The closest JD dealer is 50 miles away if you go there it looks like a mower bone yard. They keep the mowers outside with no protection in this Texas sun that’s a no no. Luckily I have a repair shop fairly close that will work on my mowers and stores them inside. The last time I went to the JD place close to me for a part I saw at least 30 or more mowers outside so I asked say how long would I have to wait for repairs maybe a couple of weeks, the guy behind the counter laughed you mean 6 to 9 weeks would be more like it. That long in the Texas sun the color green would be so faded you wouldn’t recognize you mower.

I have high lift blades on the mower and between that and the suction of the vacuum, it does a pretty good job.

My JD dealer, Tri Green Equipment has been very reasonable with all my tractor service. I usually come out worse at my Chevrolet dealership with service cost than I do at my John Deere dealership. I spent more money last year at my local Walmart than I did at my John Deere dealership.

Larry, Just say your video, I have a yard about as big as yours, I was wondering if you have remembered how many times you emptied your DR.

CLO, I did not get any video of using the vacuum hose the next day in the fenced area of the back yard. I blew those up in a large pile and vacuumed them up. But to answer your question, I emptied the DR 14 times. Thanks for watching.
