We are living in an age, in which the sins of the People of Nooh (Shirk), the sins of the People of Loot (Sodomy), Fir`aun (Haughtiness), Qaaroon (Gloating), and Hamaan (Obedience to the creation while Disobeying to the Creator) have been gathered together at the same time. We seek Allaah’s protection from such evil. May Allaah not hold us accountable for what the foolish ones amongst us have been doing.

Peterson lost me when his fame started getting to his head and he started to opine on topics he understands only superficially, but I want to commend Mohammed Hijab for how deeply he read and researched Peterson before he talked to him. That's a sign of an authentic seeker of knowledge.

I agree with this. Peterson rise was very rapid and that ought to bring caution amongst listeners and readers. This was a good video, but having listened to Peterson and read part of 12 Rules For Life I'm not so sure he is as torn between different ideas as he presents. I think it's more a case of concealing what he really stands for and adding to the mystery of who he really is. One cannot be attacked if one cannot be identified. Peterson on the face of it is a social conservative, but as is often the case with social conservatives he pays very little attention to the economy. When he does comment on work related matters, primarily from a psychological POV, he comes across as a capitalist. At its core, capitalism undermines the socially conservative values Peterson purports to hold.

@@WorldCitizen333 - yes, no one is discussing JP’s lectures in its entirety.. that would be impossible and unfair with no critical analysis whatsoever and if you think you can surmise it in a paragraph then you’re mistaken, as you know the discussion revolving around the video JP made addressing the Muslims, “Message to Muslims” hence the bravado. You’re being subjective rather being objective in your overview be fair with your opponents even if you differ with them. I can say the same about Hijabs rise to fame someone so humble that turned into an arrogant and narcissistic individual who uses abusive and threatening behaviour when things don’t go his way. You can call that a true seeker of knowledge, I don’t, he delves into philosophical arguments that aren’t tangible but a way to express his tangent and anyway, his arguments are nothing special but a regurgitation of past thinkers.

This is a really brilliant move on Mohammed’s part, he is trying to convert Peterson by pressing on his internal conflict. Yes, the post modern world has scrutinized all meta narratives and found them flawed, but we still seek a fixed certainty, and several religions still push that illusion. The problem is such certainty does not exist and we are forced to become perpetual seekers in a new, supra paradigm.
The annoying thing is that, many muslims dropped their values and beliefs to agree with JP in thay video, if you check the comments. It's either they didn't understand the terminology he used, or the message he tried to send Or they did understand it but didn't care enough to disagree with him, or were scared to be strangers amongst the comments, which is worse

It’s just the thing we have a difference of opinion. Why would I a North Indian Asian Catholic man, convert to a religion that speaks Arabic ? I’m not an Arab I don’t have any relation to the Arab states, so how the hell do you expect Jordan to convert ? It just doesn’t make any sense.

However- and I hate to say this but- White Christians and blacks who fellowship in integrated circles have a very dogmatic and hostile attitude towards Muslims. I'm a vocalist who grew up singing gospel, so I have a lot of should I say, had, a lot of friends in the gospel music sector. The whole time that I was an apostate, it wasn't a problem. To be fair, every religion puts it's followers above people of other faiths. At the core, all religions encourage love. The animosity towards others is mostly out of fear. Groups have a strong tendency to want to protect themselves and perpetuate their existence. So as expected they'd be hostile to any other group they view as a threat to their own. Not that I'm defending the horrible behaviour but you'd likely experience the same if you were a Muslim converting to Christianity.

There is culture of hatred towards Islam and Muslims in the west that is often explained away by the recent surge of terriorism in the muslim world. However, this is not the complete truth because there natrually exists a level of unconscious weariness and hostility towards Islam by westerns in particular because of the past rivalry between Islam and the christian west. In short, the domination of Islam and the collapse of christianity left many envious and bitter. This envy has morphed into fear and loathing in modern times and the west is anxious more than ever about being outshunned by the old enemy once again. Birth rates and the strict adherence of muslims towards their religion plays on this fear and therefore nationalism is spreading like chicken pox all across Europe. The biggest threat to the white man (elite) and he’s supreme rein has always been Islam and muslims, therefore, he tends to be the most hostile towards it.

I don't think the same, when it comes to him making videos like that, he usually studies the topic he'll talk about very carefully and very deeply But when it came to Islam, it felt like he never learned anything from his interviews with the known Muslims, as if he read 2 wiki pages about Islam then just based his video on that.
This was my message to Jordan Peterson after listening to his video titled: Message to Muslims: My eyes are tearing of disappointment. First, thank you for talking directly to the Muslims, I don't remember watching or reading a genuine western academic who has publicly done that before. Second, the theological conflict between the Sunni and the Shia is not different than the theological conflict between Muslims and any other sect or religion. Understand Dr. Peterson, that on a very basic level, shiasm insult the prophet's wife and his companions, hence, respect to such deviation is considered weakness and not encouraged. Furthermore, you were wrongfully emphasizing the conflict between Muslims and Jews, and again, you fail to understand, that Islam is not a pacifistic religion, so when the zionist conquer one of the most important lands from an Islamic perspective, respect and peace is not granted to them. Perhaps you should direct your message to the zionists killing the innocents in Palastine. Lastly and more importantly, heaven is not yours nor ours to judge who will enter it, but it belongs to the almighty, and he told us who will enter it, and he said that those who believe in all books, and MESSENGERS will enter it. We believe in all the messengers, you don't. So your dream of jointly entering paradise due to Abrahamic roots is childish and ignorant. May God guide you to the one and only truth.

Well said brother. However, we should also judge ourselves first. The Muslim world has huge issues which Peterson soemwhat rightly points out and instead calls for peaceful resolution. Most of our leaders are corrupt and hypocrites, which affects us Muslims directly, way more than Jordan Peterson's words. Have you done anything about the malice within our leadership and communities? This platform itself is made by non-Muslims who have more or less arguably an agenda against Islam, perhaps same like Peterson. Yet here we are.

Oh my Allah, please my Sunnis brothers please educate yourselves more about shia religion. The main differences between us and them isn’t even the shabaa Walahi that’s at the bottom the main difference is in tawheed. Shia don’t believe in tawheed of worship worshipping Allah alone nor do they believe in tawheed of Allahs names and attributes they say the imams are Allahs names and attribute. They clearly say Allah has no attribute of action. To them the Quran is talking about the imams cover to cover. If you read their tafseer you would clearly see how everytime Allah is mentioned they translate it to being the imam. I know sounds crazy if you hung around stupid layman Shias bcos they would straight away deny but their books don’t lie they clearly show they are polytheists. They believe the imams created everything and the imams will judge between ppl on the day of judgement. And as if that’s not enough they believe the religion isn’t even perfected and completed by the prophet. They say the Quran is with their imams in hiding so the religion will be fulfilled once he is back from his sleep. Please educate yourself. They have made up beliefs to exactly contradict the Quran and sunnah. They say Karbala is better than mecca, Eid al Ghader is better than Eid al fitr or adha etc. they believe the prophets are infallible clearly going against the Quran etc

Great video
After watching the podcast episode you had with Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, I started listening to some of his other lectures and podcasts. What you share in this video truly brings order into the ideas and concepts he presents, which still are rather new to me. His eloquence is very impressive and some of the insights he shares are of great value. Yet, instead of clarity, more questions and at times confusion is what I found myself left with. It now becomes clearer to me why that has been the case. Thank you very much for this video! I would greatly appreciate if you could respond to his recent video "Message to Muslims".

Hey guys hear me out. I'm a white American and ex-Christian and i can tell you that from my background this video is very very good news for Christian/Muslim relations in America. For someone like him to publicly talk about how peace between Islam/Christianity is possible is a HUGE step. Sadly, a huge population of the Christians here do not believe that it is even possible to live in the peace with Muslims and they don't even want Muslims in America. I know all this from experience. Jordan Peterson put out of a video titled "message to Christian churches" in which he attempted to criticize Christian churches and Christians. I think in his mind he was trying to criticize both groups of people. I don't think he had mal intentions. I think we should try to recognize his attempts to be respectful even if not ALL of it was. It's sometimes to difficult to show respect to another group or culture without understanding it. It is a big step for someone like him to even considering showing respect to Islam the way he did. He is followed by mainly conservative Christians and if you look at the response from the Christians in the comments they were very kind and were say very good things about Muslims. So even if he may be wrong, let's not discount the attempt and atleast that it might be helping. Especially if this leads other conservative Christians to be more open to respecting Islam/Muslims. I was disappointed with his delivery and directness towards Muslims and that he didn't call out Christians for equally disliking Muslim. But i did appreciate his attempts to show respect. In summary, he has made a huge step to try to understand Muslims/Islam, show him respect and have patience and I promise he will come around one day. Respect to all my Muslim bros ✝️🫱🏻🫲🏽☪️

I agree with this. It’s about making peace in America against the secularists that are our shared enemy. Let him build a positive image of Islam to his Christian following, there is no need to react negatively to him. He has like what 10-30 years left of natural life left max? We all die in the end and we’re just travelers in this world so better to focus on being the best Muslim we can be instead of trying to reshape others’ minds. If we continue being good people then peace will come in the USA and Britain and Canada and then the Christians will see what’s really happening in the Middle East. But you can’t blame people who were born and lived in a bubble of ignorance for being ignorant. He is trying to do good for all of us but he’s a person he makes mistakes. At least he isn’t hating us and he even said “peace be upon him” when mentioning our prophet (SAW). Keep your head clear and eyes on Allah!
I picked up your book, Kalam Cosmology. It is a great read, well researched. However, I would gladly pay for another copy if the margins were fixed. Unfortunitly the text flows into the seam, causing me to bend the spine to get the last word in a sentence. The book is great, but if this were fixed it would make it more readable. I feel like he's talking about the fundamentalists within an ideology. Some ideologues adopt their prescribed ideology without thinking as a defence mechanism for life because it helps to ensure survival. However, when dealing with the more advanced aspects of psychology we need complete free thought to progress and the fanatics within the ideologies prevent this. That is because they take on things that they don't actually believe in order to fit their agenda. They do this because they see others within their ideology doing the same. Maybe they even just follow the logic of that ideology to its conclusion in these presumptions but the point is they do not come to these presumptions themselves. They are not thinking critically. They agree with a few points from the ideology and then assume defence of the rest upon even hearing of them. We are a tribal species but enlightenment lies within. In the human conscience. No adopting ideas without thorough thought is allowed.

By “abandon ideologies” what Peterson is obviously saying is ... to not hold on to ideas just because they are part of a package ( ideology ) that you hold and hence you feel committed to defend. That can have the effect of making your reject things that you would have otherwise no problem accepting. That makes sense. And if anyone has an “ideology” that’s NOT irrationally dogmatic, they shouldn’t have a problem with what Peterson means.
this is perfect

For MH's point around the 9:00 mark - " For we did not follow cleverly devised stories (myths) when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were *eyewitnesses* of his majesty." 2 Peter 1:16
Jordan says that we should stop hating Jews and that we should unite the Abrahamic religions which is not surprising ben shaprio For several years it was possible to benefit from Jordan's content in criticizing feminism and converts and now everything he brought from his message to Muslims will go to the garbage

Authenticated by Shaykh Al-Albānī in Mukhtasar Shamā’il (no 8). He was neither too tall or too short: Al-Barā' reported that Allāh's Messenger ﷺ had the most handsome face amongst men and he had the best disposition and he was neither very tall nor short-statured. The beautiful fragrance of the sweat of the Prophet ﷺ: Anas also narrates: Once, the Prophet ﷺ came to our house and slept; he was in sweat. My mother brought a bottle and was trying to fill the bottle with his sweat. Then, he woke up and asked, ‘O Umm Sulaym! What are you doing?’ She said, ‘O Messenger of Allāh! In this case, many Muslims had hopes of good since he was seemingly open minded, but through that recent video you can see the underlying intentions.
