I am a Christian that grew up in East Dearborn. I am 40 years old now and after all this time and reflecting the past few years, we are completely wrong about each other. Mind you, we grew up fighting Muslims in our neighborhood because we were outnumbered. The white boys of East Dearborn in the '90s. But over time the fighting stopped and we got to know each other a little better. A lot sooner than the rest of the country. This hatred towards each other was not brought on by normal people of both religions. It was the power that be in this case, the military complex of the United States of America. The people of the Middle East were lied to the American people were lied to and it created this rhetoric and misunderstanding to such a large degree that it had created monsters on both sides. In order to go forward, we must recognize this and go about our commonalities and not our differences.

@@3ngineer627 sorry but are you daft. The door was being repeatedly knocked and unnecessarily so. ‘What is the purpose of existence’ or the purpose of life is a loaded question, with a pre supposed answer. It assumes there has to be a purpose, for starters, even though none is self evident. Every person is free to assign an individual purpose to their life, and if you believe that to be Islam that’s fine. But that’s all that really is: your belief. Not a fact. Regurgitating obviously repetitive questions with the same core intent, is not useful when the other person disagrees about the validity of your proposition.

Every trial has a shelf life Like the heated sun that covers the clouds or the bird that flies and then descends. However the clouds will inevitably split up and the sun will shine again. As well as the bird will fly again. The same thing happens with the mans imān. Though it used to cover the clouds, they will split, and with patience the imān will again bloom in the heart. “ Imagine dying without having taken the time to understand the Quran, the message of Allah… what a big loss, so many regrets…” LOOK AT HOW MERCIFUL ALLĀH TA’ALA IS... He sees you disobey HIM, so HE causes regret in your heart. Then, HE inspires you to seek HIS forgiveness so HE forgives you. Then HE becomes pleased with you . So HE changes your bad deeds into good deeds. This is Allāh Azza Wa Jall SubhānAllāh

@@1994mrmysteryman perception is a funny thing. As someone who has studied Peterson's thought deeply for years, I get where he is coming from. He tries to be very specific about what he means, especially when talking about abstract concepts. He understands the limitations of language, and of his own capacity to figure things out. I understands how it can be strange for people who aren't used to that kind of communication, but in philosophy often an entire book will be devoted to a single word or two, e.g. Neonachean Ethics, Being and Time, On Truth, Beyond Good and Evil. People who have thought deeply about their words have a lot to convey when using words that most people take for granted.

@@An123Observer I have followed him extensively too and have been a fan for ages. Not every concept in this video was abstract but he deliberately goes out of his way to make it abstract and confusing, especially if he doesn't like the question or doesn't wish to answer it. There are certain things that are concrete and should be handled as such. Is the earth flat? Well, what do you mean flat? As in, do you think it's somewhat spherical in shape or is it like a plate? Well, what do you mean spherical? What do you mean plate? He does this constantly. There are some places where specificity is required. But he overdoes it drastically. He exaggerates the complexity of a question if he wants to avoid it. What do you mean by "truth"? What do you mean by "lie"? What do you mean by "belief". But then he starts talking about "transcendence" and other abstract concepts and throws his whole scrutinising process out the window when it suits him.

Instead of answering directly he starts floating in this mindset forcing his own approved (western) logic. Nevertheless Jordan Peterson is a respectable person who is humble enough to listen with an openmind and admit his faults 💪🏽

JP is the definition of, "Speaking much and saying little." Who answers, "What's the purpose of life," with, "Things are shaky on many fronts and we wanna have an abundant world where everyone has something, but we are doubtful about that and retreating into corners. We are not addressing the elephants in the room; you have to do that in the spirit of ignorance. Lets think about what unites the abrahamic faith..." Bro give an answer, throw out the word salad

Assalamualaikum mate. If I may, I propose you travel, and break bread with Jordan someday. Imo, it’s going to truly help with your chats. Do it in between or after, behind the camera, in front of it, doesn’t matter. Point is, you eat and travel together only once.

He is quite right by saying the purpose of life is achieving peace and the alternative is hell ! Because peace on this earth is simply impossible and knows it so he left with hell and as everyone knows when any human says hell he/she/it means the hell of the afterlife !!! ( Without knowing it his subsconscient is saying it !!!) .

I like JPs open minnendes and coming to the UK to speak in a mosque to you. But on an intellectual way, most of his statements and answers are very vague and questionable. The fact that nearly no question was answered „directly“ and he drifted to other topics was really irritating.

What are they scared of to become a Muslim as per Qur'an n hadith n not the different sects. It's in the Qur'an. Loud n clear

I'm not a Muslim but this conversation makes me understand the Quran a lot more and hijab is great at that, but a lot of people are saying that Jordan is a sophist which tell me those people are not open to unpacking or understanding that some time you must dismantle some ideas in order to find the true meaning in what you're saying rather than just say it blindly
