These are the general properties which govern by which route we can use a particular drug. Timolol and betaxolol have high ocular capture

Beta blockers decrease systolic BP by blocking beta 1 in heart and they decrease diastolic BP by inhibiting renin release via beta 1 blockade in JG cells of kidney

Sir if betablockers are causing hypoglycemia then why they are contraindicated in diabetes

They are not causing hypoglycemia, they prevent reversal of hyperglycemia

Hello dear Bronchodilator are must in acute attack of asthma. Most commonly salbutamol. In severe cases, steroids are added to increase activity of beta 2 agonists Most other drugs are for prophylaxis. Inhalational steroids are drug of choice in most cases

Sir could you please answer my doubt I am on beta blocker Atenolol since 6 months and was on Metropolol earlier since 7 years for only hypertension and no heart disease. I am still confused why my doctor prescribed me beta blocker always as I don't want to take heart medicine at young age of 33 year. Please advise me

Although beta blockers are not first line drugs for hypertension now, but if your blood pressure is controlled and no other problem is there, you can continue. If you want to change, you can switch to ace inhibitors but I don't think it is necessary

Hello dear Beta blockers 1. Will decrease beta 1 mediated cardiac contractility thus decrease systolic BP 2. Decrease Renin by inhibiting beta 1 in kidney decreasing RAAS activity and thus vasodilation 3. Some beta blockers have additional vasodilator activity like labetalol

Should I have to take metroler xt 50 for life time and I also take creaser 20 with this now a days metroler xt 50 didn't suit me as my pressure goes down 110/60 medicine like metroler xt 50 should be taken for whole life like pressure or sugar medicine or it depend on patient.
